Hamit Altintop is a Centre Attacking Midfielder, and he play's on the left too.

Also, is Karadeniz injured, if not where is he!?!?

Tolga-----Uzulmez-----Bulent------Umit Ozat

Yildiray------Hamit Altintop-----Emre

Nihat----------Tuncay

Sukur

I know most of you probably dont like Bulent cause u say his old and slow but he always seems to get the job done....He always is in position and plays very well for a player in his mid-30's hes a great tackler and a decent Marker and i think he should deserve a spot in the first 11 or atleast be the first defender off the bench .

Bulent

It's not that he is old, or slow. Bulent will never show his age, but his attitude is horrible, his complaining to the refs, his horrible tackles, and harsh fouls. I don't think he should be on Gala, let alone the Turkish International squad.

Umit Ozat in my opinion, is the best Defender in Turkey.

Umit ozat deserves a starting spot for sure;)

Yes he does but not as a defenceman, but he is great at midfield. He would be a great sub for Yildiray or Emre for midfield. My openion is I don't want to see him at defence thats all. Since Doum came to Fenerbahce Umit Ozat is been playing at midfield and did an excellent job by himself. Last year when he was playing at defence, it showed that he is not to trust the defence. And yes Bulent defenately has an attitude problem. And I think thats what most of our players are missing in our Tuekish team. We need more players like Tunjay, Ergun....

I agree during the World Cup when Senol Gunes played him at Defence we all saw that he isnt the greatest pure defender in Turkiye....hes more of a defensive midfielder who comes up and helps with the attack. Also Tugay retired from International Football right? And where is Ergun hes a SOLID defender and a great player on the wing he's crosses are very accurate.

The 2003/04 Superleague season was one of surprises - and fantastic memories for three sides: champions Fenerbahçe SK, Turkish Cup winners Trabzonspor and UEFA Cup surprise package Gençlerbirligi SK. While Trabzonspor and Gençlerbirligi celebrated muscling in on the party, traditional Istanbul heavyweights Besiktas JK and Galatasaray SK were left to lick their wounds after seasons both will be keen to forget.

Shock defeat
Initially it looked as if a new-look Fenerbahçe would also struggle to live up to the burden of expectation as Christoph Daum's side kicked off the season with a shock 3-0 home defeat against Istanbulspor AS.

Besiktas set pace
Fenerbahçe steadily improved as the season progressed, but they looked to be out of the title reckoning at the half-way stage as they reached the winter break eleven points behind leaders Besiktas - with Trabzonspor in second, nine points off the pace.

Fenerbahçe pull clear
What happened next few could have predicted. Besiktas, perhaps a victim of over confidence, imploded in the second half of the season, losing eight and winning just five of their remaining 17 matches as Fenerbahçe soared to the top of the table. With five games to go Daum's side ended Besiktas' title challenge, winning 3-1 at the Inönü stadium to pull clear of their rivals. Fenerbahçe eventually finished a staggering 14 points ahead of Besiktas, who were offered scant consolation of third place and a UEFA Cup spot from a season that had started with such promise.

Nobre leads revival
Marcio Nobre, a mid-season signing on loan from EC Cruzeiro, proved the catalyst for Fenerbahçe's revival, scoring 12 times in 18 games to complement Pierre van Hooijdonk's team-leading 24 goals as Daum became the first German to guide Fenerbahçe to the title - and in style. Only Konyaspor striker Zafer Biryol would better Van Hooijdonk, finishing the season with 25 goals from 33 appearances.

Dogan the difference
Trabzonspor also made significant changes during the winter break, and the appointment of Ziya Dogan sparked the start of a stunning eleven-match winning run which resulted in a second-placed finish and the promise of UEFA Champions League football for the first time. Trabzonspor's Guinean midfielder Ibrahima Yattara must also take his share of the plaudits, leading the league with 15 assists as he proved the creative hub of the Black Sea club. And there was a trophy to celebrate too asTrabzonspor won the Turkish Cup with a comprehensive 4-0 win over Gençlerbirligi in the final.

Gençlerbirligi reward
With Trabzonspor otherwise engaged in Europe, the Ankara club will get another shot at the UEFA Cup, the least they deserve after a thrilling European run this season that saw them knock out Blackburn Rovers FC, Sporting Clube de Portugal and Parma AC before finally succumbing to eventual finalists Valencia CF after extra-time.

Galatasaray shame
Besiktas fans may not look back on the season with pride, but at least their side was competitive which was more than Galatasaray SK could claim after arguably their worst ever season - finishing sixth and bowing out of the Champions League at the group stage. Galatasaray finished a massive 22 points behind Fenerbahçe, losing ten times in a season for the first time in 22 years and failing to qualify for Europe for the first time since the 1989/90 season.

Bursaspor down
Adanaspor AS and Elazigspor were early victims of the drop and they were joined in the second division by Bursaspor who fought valiantly to the end but were relegated for the first time since the Turkish league began in 1959.

Anyways now that we've talked about international...

What would you guys like to see for your clubs next season?

Fenerbahce needs a strong player for our mid field, Gala needs to get rid of hagi...and make huge transfers.

Besiktas is hard to say...I think it's time Lucesscu leaves thought, they need a REALLY strict coach at that club.

Turkey beat Australia 3-1 today. There was a goal by Umit Ozat and 2 from Sukur. 6 of our players were booked! Well at least we didn't draw this time

Hahaha yep.

This is a new start for Turkiye. Not qualifying for Eurocup in a way was beneficial, we smartened up, and got rid of that HORRIBLE senol gunes.

We'll be back for WC 2006 in Germany

Many Turkish strikers are better than Sukur NOW, not in the past. Look at the strikers Turkey has that are better than him. Ilhan, Tuncay, Serhat, Fatih Tekke. I can probably name some second division strikers better than Sukur but I won't. Oh, and don't start a fight saying that Tuncay isn't a striker, because he is. He might play in midfield sometimes because he can.

Name me a some second division strikers who can score two goals for the national team.

Leeds reject loan offer for Viduka 21/05/04
Leeds have turned down an offer by Galatasaray of a loan deal for striker Mark Viduka.

The Turkish giants had hoped to sign the Australia star on a season-long loan as they are unable to meet Leeds' £6million asking price.

It is understood Galatasaray were willing to pay a £1.5million loan arrangement fee, as well as the 28-year-old's £65,000-a-week salary. But cash-strapped Leeds, who will be playing in the Coca-Cola League next season after their recent relegation from the Premiership, are desperate to bring in as much money as possible, as quickly as possible.

wow wow, I wouldn't be too quick to say Galatasaray are the Turkish giants. No 1 can argue their success in europe, but a team that just placed 6th in the Turkish Super league should not be considered the Turkish Giants

Every club has a bad year, but if you ask any non-turkish person
to name a team in Turkey 9 out 10 people would name Galatasaray, they are still the Turkish Giants, Fenerbache winning the League doesnt mean they are all of a sudden they are the Turkish Giants.
