UEFA CUP Semi-Final 2nd Leg: CSKA Moskva vs Parma [P + R]

CSKA won't win anything, especially if Sporting Lisbon make it into the finals. They will have home advantage because the finals is in their stadium.

Parma will be in the final by the way you guys talked about the Bucci incident. I'm not watching the game but Parma should talk to UEFA about this. 0-3 for Parma.

Just a little fact. The Russian FA allowed Moskva to cancel their weekend fixture last week so they could get a full week of rest for this game
omg omg omg tell the Uefa to ban all Russians teams from the competitions for the next years.

i dont think he was implying that russian teams should be banned because they had a game cancelled. he simply implied that they were well rested

this is true, but for some reason i think this will be overlooked and cska will get a slap on the wrist and get a ban at home.

i really hope this is not the case, especially after the turbulant year of soccer in europe. and of course we feel(italian fans) that cska should lose the match since both inter and roma were handed 3-0 loses after a person was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.

why should it be any different for any team?

it really is sad because cska thoroughly handed it to parma and deserved their spot in the final, shame the fans ruin it

UEFA Cup, semi-final , 2nd leg - 5/5/05
CSKA Moscow 3-0 Parma (3-0 on agg)

Carvalho (CSKA) 10, 53, V. Berezoutski (CSKA) 60
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Parma’s brave UEFA Cup march has come to an end after a 3-0 semi-final loss at CSKA Moscow on Thursday. The struggling Serie A outfit were hoping to book a place in the Final this evening but were well beaten by a more experienced and clinical side.

Despite needing to score after the 0-0 draw at the Stadio Tardini last week, boss Pietro Carmignani decided to field a 3-5-1-1 formation with Francesco Ruopolo leading the line on his own, as star striker Alberto Gilardino started the game on the bench.

The first half proved to be a lively encounter with CSKA taking the attacking initiative, even if the Italian outfit did cause them a little trouble in the opening period.

Parma started brightly with Ruopolo providing a threat but the Moscow team took the lead after just 10 minutes. Carvalho collected a cross from the left and his shot left Luca Bucci with no chance as CSKA went 1-0 up.

The veteran ‘keeper wouldn’t go on to guard the Parma net for too much longer though after he was forced to come off after 20 minutes. Bucci was left shocked and shaken by a number of firecrackers that were launched on to the pitch – an incident which could have consequences if Parma decide to make an official complaint to UEFA.

It took a little time for the Gialloblu to regroup and they had to wait until the 23rd minute for a decent shot on goal. Bresciano picked the ball up in midfield and his effort from distance was saved by the Russian No 1.

Carvalho and Aldonin both had more efforts for the home side before the half-time oranges but with no success. While Parma went close to the equaliser thanks to a 33rd minute Ruopolo header and a Bresciano shot which almost went in after an Ignasevich deflection.

Parma went into the second half knowing that they had to score to reach the Lisbon final and it was no surprise when Gilardino, 21 League goals this term, was brought on in the 49th minute.

However, the Tardini youngsters were left with an increasingly difficult task as the Russians doubled their lead through their Brazilian playmaker yet again. Vagner’s super work was rewarded by Carvalho who beat Frey with an accurate left foot shot.

Parma had barely caught their breath after that blow when they went three down on the hour mark. Defender Valeri Berezoutski was the hero as his goal left Parma with the grand task of scoring three goals in just 30 minutes.

Not that they were put off by that objective. Gilardino was brought on to score a goal and he came mighty close on 68 minutes when his delicate header beat Akinfeev but rattled the crossbar.

Frey and Akinfeev then had the opportunity to show off their goalkeeping skills. The Frenchman produced a miracle save from a Carvalho free-kick which denied the South American his hat-trick. While the Moscow man punched away a powerful Bresciano drive.

With such a healthy advantage and Parma’s realisation that their unexpected European run was over, CSKA controlled the closing stages to ensure a 3-0 aggregate victory and safe passage to the Portuguese Final later this month. Parma, who finished the game with 10 men after two Daniele Bonera bookings, will now need to concentrate on top-flight survival.

Moskva will get fined for this incident, nothing more. The difference is that those two other game had to be abandoned because the secureness inside the stadium was no longer guaranteed.

+ Parma didn't even give a sh1t about the UEFA Cup so I don't think they'll complain to UEFA. Also, Carraro has no balls. Italy have no credibilty Internationally. :crazyboy:

The way BBC was talking about it was as if Parma fans threw the flare because they was losing? So it was CSKA that threw the flare?

Well considering that AC got awarded there Champions league tie with Inter as a 5-0 aggregate victory because of the flare invasion, shouldn't Parma get similar treatment, although it wasn't so bad the game had to be stopped., something should happen.

The flare incident seemed mild from what I could tell. The highlights were quick, though.

I dont think its mild when the keeper gets hit and has to leave becuase of it, even though Parma got thir ass kicked i think that they should get the 3-0 victory because of the incident. I hope Uefa does something about this other than a 100,000 Euro fine.

Parma to make Bucci appeal

Parma have confirmed they will appeal to Uefa after Luca Bucci was struck by a flare at CSKA Moscow.

Bucci was hit by an object from the crowd during Parma's Uefa Cup semi-final, second leg in Russia.

The veteran shot-stopper was hurt after 20 minutes of the 3-0 defeat and initially tried to continue despite his injury.

But he was unable to ignore the effects of the blow and was replaced by Parma's first choice keeper Sebastien Frey.

The Gialloblu are bitterly upset at the incident and have confirmed that Bucci is not well enough to travel back to Italy with the rest of the squad.

The club have also stated their intention to appeal to Uefa about the matter in the hope of having the result overturned.

"We will make an appeal," said Parma chief officer Luca Baraldi.

"Bucci has bad dizziness and he doesn't feel good.

"For this reason he won't come back to Italy with us."

Uefa are certain to carefully study the incident after already heavily punishing Internazionale this season after their UEFA Champions League clash with Milan was abandoned due to flares being thrown from the stands
