UEFA EURO 2016 Patch

Sure, don't think that I take it personally. Look, I'm the first one to be upset that the patch isn't released. However, I don't appreciate people saying that all I'm doing is begging for stadiums, blaming me that I haven't released a patch when the one thing it's missing are the stadiums. I converted all the available models to Blender and no-one acted on that to complete all the stadiums to FIFA. If I don't know how to convert, all I can do is ask.

Also, I don't think that I'd be the only one who doesn't want a patch with all stadiums; just because it's assumed gamers only want kits, rosters and a working tournament. I'm pretty sure that having all stadiums, as opposed to 85-90%, is always the preferred outcome - for any patch. In the case of the EURO patch, yes, all stadiums were there, all national stadiums' models exist in a format that can be added to FIFA. Sure, it'd be good to compromise. I did release a beta UEFA EURO 2016 patch anyway, just before the tournament started, so that gamers could play the tournament with the things I actually know how to do; the database + teams' rosters, as well as adding all the stadiums that had been made to that point. I can compromise for a beta. But, for a final release, then it just rolls over into v1.2, v4.7, v.9.99999; whenever stadiums X,Y,Z are ever made or not at all...

If it's just up to the fact that the modding community is smaller and that editing things now is harder because it's a different format; I don't think that's the case. It could be more of a reason that that SGF doesn't have many modders, or more precisely, modders who mod the one thing that we're talking about, which is the stadiums. FIFA-Argentina pump out their entire division's stadiums each year, there was that whole screwup with soccercrazy and Poliphemus a couple of seasons ago... so it's not like we are restricted to SGF in terms of the absolute knowledge of FIFA stadium making. However, the more people that could make stadiums (myself included), the faster things could progress. So, I agree that having to ask for stadiums sucks, but, I am willing to learn how to convert stadiums too.

Like I've posted here; I exported all the models of all UEFA national stadiums to an editable format for Blender from PES6 and the old FIFA format. Quite a few of the stadiums got converted to FIFA, leaving us short by, what, a dozen stadiums? That might not matter to some, but like I said, take the example of everyone asking for complete leagues and say that it doesn't apply to the national teams/international tournaments too. Just because the leagues are more popular, doesn't mean that people would prefer to not have all national stadiums, if they are all available, as opposed to a high percentage short of 100%.

I've just unblocked all the available national stadiums for all confederations, from PES6 and the old FIFA series, so that they can be accessible to those stadium makers who will want to make them for any RTWC2018 patch planned for FIFA17. These are all the stadiums from the MEGA collection organized by Rechi on evo-web forums. I might not be the major lead on such a patch (could be jschuck), but they are all there, if any group of modders will want to add them to FIFA17.

I really appreciate the effort on the patch, all things you have done. However, I think you do not see my point at all. If you cannot do something and other people won’t do it, you will not have your stadiums, simple as that! Don’t you agree it is rather stupid, when you hold on to ‘oh no I do not have all stadiums’ when the tournament has already started or even passed. At some point you just have to take it and decide you have to do it with the stuff you have, and nothing more.

I am nowhere stating I do not like all stadiums ingame, but at some point you just have to take what you can get. I really enjoyed the beta, all teams were in, and I hoped you would fix the bugs and release it. The message I want to give to you for the RTWC2018: do not make the same mistake in being stubborn and ask for all stadiums, when they are not available and nobody is willing to make them. I mean it really demotivates others who worked on the patch as well. They put effort in and what you do is holding back, because not all stadiums are in. The physical displacement is close to zero, while a lot of effort from many people is put in.

I wonder how much you have worked with 3D programs in recent years, modding has become harder! There might be some stadium makers around, but not in the category we need. The people from FIFA-Argentina work on stadiums in Argentina and I do not blame them. Maybe someone can make a tutorial, what would be great indeed. It does not change the current situation, however, as the tutorial is not there and people are not making the stadiums you want.

All in all I just want to point out this situation is annoying for everyone, and it is pretty solvable by being a bit more realistic about the current situation without a tutorial and thus without 100% of the stadiums. I am looking forward to the RTWC2018 patch, as complete as possible within the available time.

No, I do get your point; just to take what I have and release a patch. Which is kinda what I did with the beta release just before the tournament; it ended up being the final release... I probably have to admit too that I wasn't as fast as I was getting out the stadiums' models asap, but I was busy with other things, unfortunately. I understand that I have to be realistic if not all stadiums will be available. This will be the case actually for the RTWC patch, as there are 27 countries who don't/won't have national stadiums.

However, I'm still wanting to get as many stadiums converted as possible, so I'm getting things prepared now; even before FIFA17 is being released. 4/5 of the UEFA stadiums are done (some are missing crowds, quite a few need banners too actually); Paraguay, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru aren't yet converted from CONMEBOL, but all the models are there. Plus all AFC/Asia stadiums are available and I've unlocked them all. CAF/Africa is missing around 15 from 53 (not even made in PES6) CONCACAF are also missing (not made in PES6) 15 stadiums. OFC/Oceania is missing half of the stadiums 6/12, but they can use one host stadium, as the first two rounds of OFC qualification are held in neutral grounds anyway.

But, I did release a beta...

OK, now tell me, how do you think most people are going to know about that when it's not even in first post?

By the way, what I meant was a 2.0 beta (or, at this point, "final" would make more sense) with everything that's still unreleased. That could have made everybody happy.

...and then people whine & wonder why there are no new patches. i mean for crying out loud, its no suprise if you act like that towards patch creators, calling them stubborn for wanting patch to be complete (i know at least one creator who skipped this year because of it). We have beta for this patch that has all UEFA teams. So in essence only thing missing for full patch ARE the stadiums.

There are updates made by Robbie that may not be in the beta files.

Everyone wants a complete patch but if it can't be done then you create a build
with everything you have and release it.

Stadiums are a lovely addition but there are only so many stadium makers and only so much time.

I know speaking for myself that if I had spent a good amount of my free time helping out on a mod I would want what has been created for the mod readily available which lets me know my time wasn't wasted.

I could see if Robbie created this entire patch by himself but he hasn't and therefore the choice of releasing or not is not entirely up to him, any modder who helped out has just as much say as he does in my opinion.

Robbie asked me if I would be willing to help on RTWC 18 and I haven't responded but I know if I decide to help and the WC draws nearer I would expect to see a patch released regardless of it's level of completion.

Of course I will release something. That's not at all in doubt. It's just if it's a beta, a final release or a v1.0, v2.0 etc.

Guys, so here is the v2 of the UEFA EURO 2016 patch. This will be a final release unless someone converts more UEFA stadiums or makes crowds/lights for any stadiums that don't have them. Arsenal22 has released an empty FIFA14 version of Ernst Happel, Austria NT stadium; so if someone can convert that to FIFA16 for this patch - that'd be great. This patch has the new Stades de Lyon et de Bordeaux + Otkrytkie Arena for Russia NT. Those who downloaded the first FINAL BETA need to delete the crowds in "crowdsplacement" folder for the 363 stadium; as they're the old Chaban-Delmas crowds not the new stade de Bordeaux. There is also an intro video which should play before every match.

Enjoy!

When I try to load Stade de Bordeaux, FIFA crashes. I tried loading it without crowds and it worked. Is there any way to fix this?
