However, I don't appreciate people saying that all I'm doing is begging for stadiums, blaming me that I haven't released a patch when the one thing it's missing are the stadiums. I converted all the available models to Blender and no-one acted on that to complete all the stadiums to FIFA. If I don't know how to convert, all I can do is ask.
Also, I don't think that I'd be the only one who doesn't want a patch with all stadiums; just because it's assumed gamers only want kits, rosters and a working tournament. I'm pretty sure that having all stadiums, as opposed to 85-90%, is always the preferred outcome - for any patch. In the case of the EURO patch, yes, all stadiums were there, all national stadiums' models exist in a format that can be added to FIFA. Sure, it'd be good to compromise. I did release a beta UEFA EURO 2016 patch anyway, just before the tournament started, so that gamers could play the tournament with the things I actually know how to do; the database + teams' rosters, as well as adding all the stadiums that had been made to that point. I can compromise for a beta. But, for a final release, then it just rolls over into v1.2, v4.7, v.9.99999; whenever stadiums X,Y,Z are ever made or not at all...
If it's just up to the fact that the modding community is smaller and that editing things now is harder because it's a different format; I don't think that's the case. It could be more of a reason that that SGF doesn't have many modders, or more precisely, modders who mod the one thing that we're talking about, which is the stadiums. FIFA-Argentina pump out their entire division's stadiums each year, there was that whole screwup with soccercrazy and Poliphemus a couple of seasons ago... so it's not like we are restricted to SGF in terms of the absolute knowledge of FIFA stadium making. However, the more people that could make stadiums (myself included), the faster things could progress. So, I agree that having to ask for stadiums sucks, but, I am willing to learn how to convert stadiums too.
Like I've posted here; I exported all the models of all UEFA national stadiums to an editable format for Blender from PES6 and the old FIFA format. Quite a few of the stadiums got converted to FIFA, leaving us short by, what, a dozen stadiums? That might not matter to some, but like I said, take the example of everyone asking for complete leagues and say that it doesn't apply to the national teams/international tournaments too. Just because the leagues are more popular, doesn't mean that people would prefer to not have all national stadiums, if they are all available, as opposed to a high percentage short of 100%.
I've just unblocked all the available national stadiums for all confederations, from PES6 and the old FIFA series, so that they can be accessible to those stadium makers who will want to make them for any RTWC2018 patch planned for FIFA17. These are all the stadiums from the MEGA collection organized by Rechi on evo-web forums. I might not be the major lead on such a patch (could be jschuck), but they are all there, if any group of modders will want to add them to FIFA17.
I really appreciate the effort on the patch, all things you have done. However, I think you do not see my point at all. If you cannot do something and other people won’t do it, you will not have your stadiums, simple as that! Don’t you agree it is rather stupid, when you hold on to ‘oh no I do not have all stadiums’ when the tournament has already started or even passed. At some point you just have to take it and decide you have to do it with the stuff you have, and nothing more.
I am nowhere stating I do not like all stadiums ingame, but at some point you just have to take what you can get. I really enjoyed the beta, all teams were in, and I hoped you would fix the bugs and release it. The message I want to give to you for the RTWC2018: do not make the same mistake in being stubborn and ask for all stadiums, when they are not available and nobody is willing to make them. I mean it really demotivates others who worked on the patch as well. They put effort in and what you do is holding back, because not all stadiums are in. The physical displacement is close to zero, while a lot of effort from many people is put in.
I wonder how much you have worked with 3D programs in recent years, modding has become harder! There might be some stadium makers around, but not in the category we need. The people from FIFA-Argentina work on stadiums in Argentina and I do not blame them. Maybe someone can make a tutorial, what would be great indeed. It does not change the current situation, however, as the tutorial is not there and people are not making the stadiums you want.
All in all I just want to point out this situation is annoying for everyone, and it is pretty solvable by being a bit more realistic about the current situation without a tutorial and thus without 100% of the stadiums. I am looking forward to the RTWC2018 patch, as complete as possible within the available time.
