UEFA hopes to limit foriegn imports

the amount of foreigners in the big leagues is really damaging the national teams ...... if you look at the "big 5" leagues (England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France), only one NT made it past the group stage of EURO, and there were none left in the semi finals... they really got to change something

How many Dutch players in the Holland team actually play for Holland? Sweden? Czech Republic had a few more but they will be bought. So you're not really proving anything other than it's good for national sides. Or bad. Goes either way

Talented players will always find a spot for them. It's not like foreigners are taking away these spots...they're just better.

thank you(Y) if a local player is good enough then he'll play, if not then he'll be on the bench. people will see the standard of football in some places begin to decline. i mean c'mon, foreign players are what add the flair and excitement to some otherwise boring leagues.

on the other hand, it will force many clubs to send scouts to other nations and to overseas to find new fresh talent where it may sometimes go unnoticed.

Exactly, good point, but he has a point too. Players of Sweden, Holland, Czech Republic etc etc get more play time when they are playing in those other big leagues and the bigger football countries get weaker.

I heard the Italian League is making every team have at least 50% of the team be italian.

well that seems like a fair idea, unless u have a 40 man squad where u can have 20 non italians

maybe all the best players in serbia would actually stay in serbia then, I would love to see kezman and deliblasic still strikers on partizan, WOW what a combo that would be!

its better for nation teams to have their players against otehr top players in every game, in their leagues they may not get as much competition that which keeps them sharp

What some people don't realise is that although this is a really good idea, some clubs (mainly from the G14) might try and block this new law because most of them rely on foreign talent to win honours. And in this day and age where clubs have just as much power as the national associations, don't be surprised if this law doesn't make it off the ground because some club blocked it. :f***:

Without the imports your European leagues will suck..

And all your leagues will suck even more cause they'll get in debt because they can't sell their good players to European teams

There are other markets too.. and no they won't suck cuz we don't need to import players from any other continent to have good leagues..

We don't need to do this either, oh and where do you want to sell your players?

Yes you do, what would your leagues be without, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Zanetti, Dida, Pizarro, Solano, Roberto Carlos, JP Angel, Kaka, Ailton amongst many others... better not sell them we can keep em here... our soccer is at the same if not a better level than yours.. but not as glamourous...
