He's definitely not playing. I'm not sure why he was called up even after being ruled out. I guess for support or something.

Anyway, what is the US projected line-up? I'm thinking Mexico will go with a very similar line up from the final in the Gold Cup except plugging in the European players. I'm curious to see how they'll play together.

Its actually comical to see comments from those that support the Mexican NT in other sites. They actually think they will be playing the U.S team that they beat 5-0 and beat them by the same score.

His father complained about the Mexican federation giving Jonathan bad treatment, so he hasn't come out publicly saying he's gonna play for Mexico. Of course, I think everyone is hoping he does eventually get called up and accepts, but for now he's a project.

Also Mexico has a tendency to bring up young players really slowly. It's pretty annoying. Hopefully the younger players play well so that changes, but it's pretty much the norm to have a bunch of late 20s and 30 somethings playing for the national team.

Anyway I going to stay up at an ungodly hour to watch the game...it's the only way I'll see my Mexican Superstar Carlos Vela play.
