Do any of you think Gatt still has a future with the team? I'd love to see him and Yedlin on the same wing.
Yedlin's going to Europe ... American-owned Roma can get it's own cut-price Cafu 2.0 ...
as for Gatt: how's his recovery from injury? if he hasn't lost any pace and can stay fit for an extended period of time, he's definitely got a future for the USMNT ...

there's a lot of talk about reason for optimism for US soccer ...
on the face of it, why not? the popularity of the sport has exploded here, and it'll only keep growing ... the Ghana hoodoo was broken, while the Portugal draw feeling like a loss confirmed how far the standard of play has come ...
however, considering the number of core players who are in their early to mid 30s, Klinsmann's USA were clearly built for 2014 ... sure there'll still be a number of these players in Russia (or wherever the WC is played) come 2018, but who's coming through the ranks to replace Deuce? to replace Howard?
Klinsmann's German recruiting campaign has definitely been a huge win for US soccer, but Julian Green (shanked-shot-for-the-goal and all) hasn't convinced me that he's anywhere near being the star around whom the USMNT can be built around ... and frankly, there aren't any candidates yet ... does anyone have a list of half-American footballers playing in Europe or South America?
