It's not a matter of asking the video ref for every call because that would spoil the flow of the game. It's more a case of if there's a natural stop, ie. a goal, that the referee is uncertain about then he can ask the video referee to check it for him. It's not as if the teams can ask for the replay, because that would be bollocks.

If the referee is uncertain about the legality of a goal (there'd be a 20sec pause anyway) then he can ask for assistance. If the player misses then there's no need for the replay, but if he scores a goal then why not?

But the referee's decision is final. If he doesn't want the video ref's opinion, whether the goal was legitimate or not, then he doesn't have to use the replay.

It won't slow the game down that way, and it will improve the fairness of the game, and that's a good thing imo.

i think questionable penalty calls should be added to this system as well. penalty's are also a natural stoppage of the game. would certainly decrease the amount of diving in the penalty area as they'd be able to replay the event right before the kick is taken, and if the player was deemed to have dived, he may receive a yellow card instead of a penalty kick.

hahahaha please dont tell me your serious.

whats the point of scoring a goal if your not gonna celebrate it?

hahah your cracking me up. :funny:

Hell yeah, I'm serious. How many times do you have to see some idiot run over to the corner flag and do some ridiculous dance especially on a penalty kick which doesn't really take much effort to make? Keane's "bow & arrow" routine is so stupid to name just one! The first time I saw it, fine, but come up with something new, pal!

I think someone would be remembered more for their talented goal if they just ran back to their position and let the opposition know that "scoring on them was no big deal so I'm immediately ready again to score on your ass a few more times".
I have nothing against celebrating, just do it while you are jogging back to your position instead of running 50 yards away from the play to celebrate in the corner or on the sidelines.

why dont just stop people from going to the stadium for that matter....

I think most fans go to the stadium to the watch great soccer talent and goals. Most real fans could care less about the celebrations.

My whole point is saving time to view a replay. No replays - fine!Celebrate all you want after your effortless goal! I'm trying to make a practical resolution to make the game fairer if indeed video replays were considered! So tell me your solution to ensure the correct call is made before you criticize mine!

I'd rather see consistent correct calls made any day instead of watching an overrated, overpaid player dancing on the pitch - save the dancing for the cheerleaders.

Peace.

The "SOC" in association was used to form the beginning of the word "SOCcer" that's why I put it in capital letters.

Here is a quote found on the history of the word "soccer":

The word "soccer" began as a slang derivative of the name that the sport was originally called, association football, the kicking style game that was played under the rules of the Football Association, formed in England in 1863.

Peace.
