You must recognize the type of the two leagues. The serei A is more tactical and on the defensive. The Spanish Liga is more liberal from that point of view. That is why, under certain aspects, it is more liberal. Attackers and offensive players are more free to act an have more spaces. Though Cristiano Ronaldo plays in the EPL, see how he was blocked from action by Milan. You could well see that the Milan squad was specifically set to prevent any of his incursions. Oddo and Gattuso were marking him continuously. Doing the things Ronaldo did in Serie A were simply marvellous.

He was an awesome AM at Rangers but I guess he didn't have many opportunities at Arsenal, at the time which he moved to Arsenal he was 26(?), the time when you're meant to be a regular and get games so he didn't develop in his natural role. Guess you have to give credit to Rijkaard for rebuilding his career (Y)

I remember him playing for West Ham and scoring a fluke goal against my local team in the FA Cup about 10 years ago in the snow (H). Whatever happened to him? :mexican:

He went back to Benfica's B team untill the end of his contract because of his behaviour, and after that I never heard anything from him. He's probably retired now.

It was funny though, him arriving in a Ferrari to the training while his time in the B team (H)

Benni McCarthy is the 3rd top goalscorer in the premiership with 16 goals, if he scores 2 on the last day of the season and Ronaldo doesn't score any, he'll overtake his scoring in the premiership. And for whoever said Rooney isn't living upto his promise, stfu, hes on 24 goals for the season which essentially makes him a 20-goal a season striker. And to say he wasn't considered a goal scorer, good return, and hes only 21.

Few more guys that were supposed to be big, Derlei when he was playing for Porto. He went down the drain quick. Helder Postiga when he came to Spurs, and Hugo Viana.

cana is playing an excellent season with marseille who are currently 2nd in Ligue 1 two matchdays before it's over. so we might see him in champions league next season. not enough, marseille will play the cup final tomorrow against sochaux. so pretty decent season for now, isn't it?
cana is still young and is by far marseille's most reliable player this season.
what makes you think he is a wasted talent?

I totaly agree... Cana is the best Marseille player with Samir Nasri this season. He is a warrior, some kind of Gattuso! I think he'll be our captain next year, and he's just 24...
