Croatia deserved more for their efforts...
But Brazil clearly playing to maintain the result... they didn't strive to score goals... only Robinho came to spark up the attack... Brazil did enough really... not a good performance by any means for a defending champion, but i guess Parreira gave them instructions not to risk in attack... anyway, they got the 3 points...

The worst part is we weren't holding the result - and shouldn't, Parreira would have to be shot for doing that so early. Our midfield was most of the time lacking dynamicity in attack or combativity. Definitively not a solid perfomence; and we've got just two more games to change that.

And of course, ROnaldO can't start like this. Two strikers just will not work, hasn't Parreira seen that? And neither Ronaldinho nor Adriano did anything intresting.

i have very mixed feelings towards this game. first off, croatia put in a real solid performance and definitely deserved a tie. they were just a little too sloppy at time in the midfield. prso had a real nice game but did give the ball away a little too much. very respectable performance tonight.

if brazil continue to play like this(and i dont believe they will), nike is gonna need a new poster team for joga bonito. maybe the dutch, czechs or italians. sure brazil garners all the hype, but it isn't unjust and if they dont perform to their standards they deserve the criticism. ronaldo was utterly useless and lazy. adriano was no where and ronaldinho gave the ball away to much looking for longballs. kaka had a decent game and a nice goal.

you just have to think, if an unimpressive brazil wins these matches, how good are they gonna be when they play well.

I give alot of respect to Croatia for todays game. The Kovac brothers were insane especially N.Kovac. How serious is his injury? I hope it wasn't serious. He started alot of spark in the midfield IMO. And did Klasnic play like crap? i would of subbed the PRSO (spelling ?) guy. Adriano and Ronaldo duo is crap both were truly lazy and it was pathetic.

I fu*king hate Adriano for that.

I believe Niko landed right on his side, and if not broke, then probably bruised one of his ribs. It happened to me once while I was playing in the park, me and a guy ran into each other, I spun around and landed on my ribs. :( I didn't break anything luckily, but I was petrified since it felt like someone had grabbed my one lung and kept squeezing it, making it hard to breathe.

Klasnic was anonymous as fu*k though, unfortunately, his substitute Olic was pretty invisible too.

Oh and Yoss, speaking of stuff sending shivers down ones spine.......during the anthems when they showed Simunic, who looked as if he was about to cry...oh man. :(

Well, Brazil weren't particularly good as a team tonight, and when you don't play so well as a team, often it shows your individuals up for what they really are. It's been my opinion for some time that this so-called 'exceptional' Brazil side in fact only posesses two genuinely world class players - Kaka and Ronaldinho - and I think they showed that tonight.

Ronaldo looked seriously off the pace and needs to get his act together or else he could be replaced by Fred or Robinho. The defence looked shaky and conceded several good chances to the Croatians.

I honestly can't see what Ze Roberto brings to the side. Perhaps it allows Brazil to get more numbers on that left flank and free up space for Ronaldinho, but I think somebody like Juninho would do a much better job.

On the whole, Brazil did okay but I think Croatia deserved a draw. Like England they haven't got off to a stunning start but they have three points on the board and it's important not to peak too early.

definitely, no one was linking play today except Ronaldinho and Kaka who had to run to the defence lots of times to pick up balls... Juninho would do that job very well, and there's always the freekicks factor.

I really hope Croatia Makes it to the next round. The fans and players were class. I hope N.Kovac gets better and I still question why N.Kovac left Bayern :(.

He probably got a pulled oblique muscle or something........those ******* injuries kill and pretty much immobilize your upperbody, but he ******* deserved what he got. You don't tug on to the terminating machine that is Adriano and not expect to come out worse for wear from it.

well i think it was a bad showing by the brazilians i expected them to come out slow but not this slow maybe it was because fatty ronaldo had to many bean burritos and got gas :mexican:

Less touches for Ronnie and the two upfront and more for Kaka. The attack should go through Kaka in their next fixture.

Oh come on, Adriano was virtually past Niko, but he himself was HOLDING ON to Niko's arm and pulling him down. :sb9:

Exactly, but it looks like they prefer ronaldinhos kicks at the wall, or carlos's random shots that go all over the place. Get ze roberto out!

Well I could be wrong, but didn't NK initiate the shirt pulling? Adriano responded in kind feeling impeded....maybe a little bit too excessively, but Adriano doesn't know his own strength sometimes, usually when he's frustrated and stuff. Nigga just goes on a tear rampaging about like an uncontrollable ape, or bull.......take your pick.

I've got a simple attitude towards shirt tugging.....

Snap that mother****er. It's the only scientifically proven deterrent, man.

people are f*cking annoying in the SG lately. Everything bad that happens in the world cup people make a thread about it and b!tch about it or moan. But anyways how long did it take you to recover from this injury Dragan? Sounds serious....Just hope this doesn't keep him out of the world cup (N.Kovac).

about Ronaldo being "untouchable", he'll start the next game, and the next. thats being untouchable.

You know what really gets me, the stupid Mexican commentators kept saying Ronaldo "el fenomeno" everytime he touched the ball. I would of called him Ronaldo "el gordo de mierda".

I'd write a review for the match, but I fell asleep during France vs. Switzerland and couldn't be bothered to wake up. The joys of being a brazilian during a World Cup. Falling asleep at 14.30, waking up at 18.00 and never ever worry about working.

I did wake up when Brazil scored because some girls next door went crazy about it, but I just yawned and went back to my dreams...

Oh, and I woke up at 18.00 because of all the noise. I thought Brazil had scored about 1000 more, but come to think of it, I've seen worse stuff with noise. I mean, celebrate all you want, go out to drink, whatever.

Anyway, after reading the discussion here it looks like Croatia were better, so well done to them. Shame it was a croat that ended up being injured, but that's how the game is.

I wonder what it will take for Ronaldo to lose his starting spot. He barely trained, first because of blisters, then fever... What next, another friggin convulsion? You can't help but feel sorry for the guys who do want to play.
