FT. Australia 2-1 Serbia.
Both teams are going home, but Australia passes the wooden spoon to the Serbs.
The ref was getting jumped on by Serbian players and coaching staff after the whistle.
The Serbians thoroughly owned the first half but didn't make it count, they had expected to be a couple of goals up by half-time and began to fade as the game went on. Australia gained the ascendancy with some good counter-attacking football and gave a good impression of themselves.
Shame we couldn't beat Ghana in our last match, we had the chances, but overall Australia weren't as horrible as many neutrals expected (except for the Germany game).

Looks like Rooney gets his wish and England now go up against Germany... Wonder if he is going to end up regretting it.
Don't know, don't have the best feeling about this. England have been crap, but if anything is going to lift them it'd be a face-off with Germany. I haven't seen all of England's games but they are definately much more assured at the back, and bring a bit more experience than the young Germans.Nady;2895190 said:
Germany didn't seem to be trying too hard against Ghana, they'll have to be firing at all cylinders next time round. It would be a major calamity for either of them to be bundled out in the 2nd round.
The US ought to be ecstatic with their draw, Ghana have yet to score a goal that hasn't come from a penalty, Africa was desperate for an African team to get past the group stage and Ghana have answered the call, but I think it'll end there.
