Yep, i was right, kinda boring game, both deserve to face Chile and Spain next round so we can see some of football from them, on first round both did the minimum effort to qualify...

Portugal didn't really bother going for the win, happy to hit on the counter if and when the opportunities might arise ... Brazil, with a few of their creative attacking stars rested, didn't look as potent ... and they didn't look too great at the back, despite starting the back 4 of choice ... anyway, a scoreless draw between these two comes as no surprise for anyone ...

Côte d'Ivoire, meanwhile, definitely had a chance to do their part to get to the miracle qualification scenario, but they spurned umpteen scoreable opportunities within the box, and would only have had themselves to blame if Brazil had managed to get the win ...

anyway, the more interesting and open group is coming up ... I'm hoping for Spain to top the group with qualifying Chile in 2nd ... that way Holland would avoid Spain till a potential final ... and we could see calciatore Alexis lead his so-far-impressive Chileans to what would be the biggest shock yet against Brazil ...

oh, against the run of play -- and you won't say that too often about Spain ... Chile have looked impressive, but the keeper's decision and David Villa's superlative accuracy with his weaker foot gives Spain the lead in the match and the group ... but as much as Chile have won my heart, 1-0 in this one, and 0-0 in the other, is perfect for what I want to see (posted above in my last post) ... but the Chile-Spain match is far too open for there not to be more goals, surely?

EDIT: Torres is doing his best impression of Zlatan this past season: the ball won't go in for him, and even routine touches are failing him ...

Torres what a cheater...lost respect......damn against the run of play most definetly...anyway lets hope Chile dont go out of the tournament, I wanted Chile and Spain in....no switzerland

ummm questionale second yellow and sending off on the Chilean player... Guess this game is done... so much for that.

And what a blunder by the keeper for that first goal..

Never a red (or a yellow resulting in a red for that matter). So many refs in this World Cup seem to think any incident resulting in one person being on the floor must automatically be a yellow!

If anything Torres should have gotten a yellow for diving...that was really Carlos*ed up....anyway, i Hope the other game stays tied then we're all good...I am happy Spain is leading but sad in the way it has happened.

Against the run of play, goalkeeper mistake was how it opened up, not the typical Spain type performance, and then Torres did it for me

Harsh sending off didn't seem to mean to clip Torres even than why on earth did Torres stay down for so long with such an innocuous challenge. This ref is the same one as the Germany - Australia match no surprise with the flurry of cards and dodgy sending offs in both matches so far.

I hope Chile pull one back to make this game more interesting.

that ref totally wears a zoot suit in his spare time

That second yellow was undeserved, but I haven't seen an angle that proves there was no contact. It might have been a dive, but regardless it wasn't intentional from the defender. I'll take it though.... :D
