That second yellow was undeserved, but I haven't seen an angle that proves there was no contact. It might have been a dive, but regardless it wasn't intentional from the defender. I'll take it though.... :D

NO faith playing against a full squad Chilean team then??... :nape:

1-2.. walk away and I miss that goal :(

I have heaps of faith against any team, but I'm happy to take a lucky break.

Just like Chile will take that lucky deflection on the goal.

Low act from Torres, though Chile didn't look like they were going to have 11 men by the end of the game with all that fouling. They needed to calm down more, before it cost them a goal from that keeping howler and a send off. Good news for them is the other game is looking pretty stale up until now.

5 stars for this crowd, more chanting, less vuvuzelas, the way it's always meant to be.

Spain have gone without a yellow card in the tournament so far. Wow.

Dude.. for a team that is world class and with 11 men... they sure are holding the ball on their half way too much..

This is getting ridiculous. This is the second time today we've seen this kind of play. Don't these footballers have any sort of pride or will to score/win?

I mean does Chile want to play Brazil in the second round or something? They sure played like they desperately do.

Stark contrast between the opening 15 minutes and final 15 minutes of this game.

I wonder if it was intentional by the Spaniards not to look for another goal, to keep Chile with a chance of going through the group.

Chile wanted to play.. but spain seem more interesting in holding on to the ball. That sending off really ruined the game

The Swiss will never forgive their team for not finding 1 goal against Honduras, there were some shocking misses in that game.

Happy for Chile, but their squad will be decimated for their next fixture with 3 regular starters out.

Going to be an epic round of 16: Germany vs England, Spain vs Portugal, Chile vs Brasil :munch:

Are you serious? If Chile wanted to play they would have put some kind of pressure on Spain. Instead they were happy to watch Spain hold on to the ball.

If you have the lead and the other team doesn't go after the ball, why push forward?

There was a number of chances in the Swiss game for both teams to score, the Swiss keeper Benaglio made a great save to tip over a shot that looked goal bound.

I'm pissed off. I love Chile and I wanted to face Spain on the round of 16, so Chile could make it to the quarterfinals. But Chile was very disappointing after scoring, I seriously yelled "go out to attack, ¡cagones de mierda!", but everybody just watched Spain passing the ball... Grrrrr. They looked so coward now I want Brazil to crush them 10-0 or something. Surely Bielsa is pissed off as well. Damn, Chile. Damn!

Best performance of the night....

Honduras should have won. I lost track how many times they were 4-v-3 or 3-v-2 against the Swiss in the second half.

They did, and they tried to... but as you saw (if you saw what I saw), spain started to play the ball back anytime a chilean player went forward. When Chile had the ball, they tried to push forward because they knew they had to.

I just expected a team like Spain to go forward and try and create more chances, not get comfortable with the ball as time went on.

Dunga gave ammo to his critics. Everyone said beforehand we didn't have a bench worth a damn.
Why there are 8 DM among the 23 players? Couldn't he drop 2 of them for Ronaldinho or Ganso or Neymar or Diego or Pato... you know where this is going.
