The quality of Lampard from long-range, Gerrard's through balls, Beckham's vision, Joe Cole's trickery, an the fact that Michael Carrick will sit just infront of the defence to give, arguably, 2 of the top 5 midfielders in the world space to get forward should be enough to beat any team. Yes, we will have to be cautious of Ronaldo and AC will have to chop him down on a few occasions but I cant see us losing to a team like Portugal.

There we go...if this game gets to be so passionate as the Netherlands one, then I expect a heart attack.

Even without Deco and Costinha, I think we are going to win. Lampard and Gerrard long range? Petit and Maniche for you. And those two also shoot very nicely from long range. Ronaldo is going to face A.Cole once again...should be funny, it is geting legendary between those two. The only question is Pauleta...I mean...he's too alone in front. Luckily Maniche, Ronaldo and Deco appear sometimes in the area to clinch it.

My main worry is Rooney. He is starting to look really fit. Carvalho must not drop him easily. If Meira marks him...then we are in deep trouble.

Nobody has actually "complained "about the ref at all yet as according to #71. All comments about the ref so far have been tongue in cheek and humourous. If you dont see the humour, then it got lost in your translation or something.

As for the English media, they are actually calling this team SH.IT. So i dont see the overconfident arrogance that has been suggested there.

But why not be confident anyway. Is there something wrong with that? I've watched England too many times over too many tears to know that we are due to come to life. Apart from Owen missing we, for the first time have our first choice team, so if its gonna happen it will happen on Saturday. If it doesn't happen, then we get beaten. So what. Big deal. Although, if some of their players turn up and decide to cheat then I wont be able to contain my wrath on anyone that comes in with,"HA, DID U C RONALDOZ DIVEZ? DEY WERE SOOO KEWL!!" or "FIGO OWNZ, DA WAY HE ROLLD AROUND ON DA FLOOR AND GOT TERRY SENT OFF WAZ ACE". They are the posters who will feel the full force of my verbal abuse if we get knocked out.
