Well I hope they don't boo the anthem but somehow I can understand them. Moratti, Germans usually have a high opinion of Italians. I'm not surprised they'd root for them.

i can't imagine any neutral (except of the germans) supporters in a world-cup tournament chanting in nearly every match stupid songs about the netherlands failure...
Haha that was priceless. What were they supposed to do in that Switzerland-Ukraine game, go home at half-time? That's the typical German-Dutch relationship, the Dutchies would have done the same thing.

or attacking the opponents' supporters before their match (e.g. before the germany - poland match polish supporters were attacked by more than 150 germans)
The only incidents happened when English fans were involved.

Actually, my brother is currently in Germany and has been since the second round matches began and he's a supporter of Italy as well... He tells me everyday that the Germen fans have shown nothing but respect and actually have been ruiting for Italy right beside him and his friends which is weird in a way because I figured they would rather have Ukraine in the semis rather than Italy but they were celebrating together in Berlin and Kaislaughten (Spelling?) Obviously today's a different story.
Kaiserslautern or just write K-Town.

Wow. I'm even more pumped up then I was before the Argentina game, damn I think I will die during the final.

German organization has been flawless. From what i´ve read in the portuguese media their work has been exceptional. Great World Cup in my opinion and it´s not just because Portugal is in the Semi´s.
Good luck to Germany for tonight´s game by the way

wrong! polish supporters were attacked by german skins before and after the match in dortmund. of course, most of them (about 150) were arrested, but you can't say that there were no such incidents.

That is utter bulls.h.i.t and you know it Vince. The only trouble England fans were involved in was instigated by German thugs. That is the official line by the German police reports. They stated that after much provocation by German fans/thugs, the English retaliated. 160 English fans were "removed". Not arrested but "removed for their own safety and for public order to be restored". 147 of those fans were released within an hour. 470 German fans/thugs were ARRESTED.

I asume you are not one of these German thugs, so why defend them. I do not defend the 13 English fans arrested.

The World Cup Organising commitee, has officially praised England's fans as "The best in the tournament". That tells me that all in all that the England fans did a good job.

Fifa estimated that there were 80-90,000 England fans in Germany, of which just under 400 of them were either deported or arrested, for charges ranging from theft and drunkeness to the few that were football related. A "FEW" is still too many IMO, but out of possibly 90,000 fans, the percentages are very much in the decent England fans favour.

The days when other countries can blame the English fans for the trouble caused by their own thugs is well and truly OVER. No longer can we be used as a scapegoat for other countries supporters. The WCOC and FIFA have praised England fans as the best. and that statement includes WC 2002 and Euro 2004 as well as this one. There is no argument with that.

Sure you can find a photo here and a photo there of an English tosser under arrest but I could find just as many, if not more of German tossers or Portuguese tossers or Argentine or Polish or French or any nationality you care to mention tossers, under arrest.

Don't give me that ****, Pede. Every city the English have been to was more than happy after they were gone. They were out provoking the Germans with their famous songs ala "Ten German bombers". The English were simply in the majority in most cases thus no retaliation.

Funnily nothing happened when those "German thugs" met the people of 30 other nations.

you are a lying prick. Your neo nazi fans and the Poles and the Croatians were fully at it when I was in Frankfurt. I saw it mate.

Like I said those days are OVER when anyone will believe lying drivel like that. Do you defend German thuggery?....It sounds like you do to me.

If some English thugs taunted me I'd respond to that.

nothing happened? so, why do you have to be in fear of neo nazis when you're a polish supporter in a match against germany?
i don't know about the english-german relationship but i know that your supporters still call the english tommies, so what's up, huns?

Praise for England fans as they pass behaviour test
(Filed: 03/07/2006)
Travelling English soccer fans earned praise from all sides in the wake of the country's quarter-final exit from the World Cup.

British and German police and the organisers of the event spoke warmly of them yesterday after a mainly peaceful reaction to defeat on penalties by Portugal in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday.

A British police chief said the supporters, once known as the hooligans of Europe, had passed their test in Germany.

Police in the city thanked the 80,000 British fans who made it a wonderful occasion, saying only a few had got drunk and caused trouble.

And a spokesman for the organising committee said they were the "world champions in celebrating".

Some 40,000 England fans made it into the stadium and 40,000 more watched the match on big screens and in bars around the city.

Gelsenkirchen police said 120 English, out of 180 of varying nationalities, were held for minor matters but released after a few hours, some after having to sober up. The British police said 105 English were held.

Assistant Chief Constable Stephen Thomas, the senior officer assisting the Germans, said the real English fans had been "absolutely superb".

Mr Thomas, of Greater Manchester Police, said that after Euro 2000 England fans had the reputation of being the hooligans of Europe, but Euro 2004 went well.

"People said that was a one-off, and it wouldn't happen again, and Germany would be the real test. I think our real fans have been absolutely superb."

The 80,000 figure beat the 70,000 who went to Frankfurt for England's opening match against Paraguay, and was the largest ever movement of English football supporters.

There had been more than 6,000 arrests of different nationalities across Germany so far during the World Cup, of which 711 were English people, Mr Thomas said.

Gerd Graus, spokesman for the organising committee, was quoted by German news agency DPA as saying: "The English fans showed they are world champions in celebrating. It was great to see this."

Now back to the subject

C'mon Germany. 3-1, I predict. Hope it does not go to penalties for Italy's sake...... :ewan:

I thought you were a clever lad, Vince, obviosuly not. I suppose you were wanting mass hooliganism from the English fans to prove a point? Well sorry to dissapointed you but the English travelling support (by far the greatest in the World) was well behaved and good natured. 711 English arrests out of the 6,000 says it all.
