one other thing.I do not actually care about those ''strategic'' features for the team management and stuff.I would like to play an Arcade football simulator(:crazyboy: ) not a simulation thing with unnumerous selections. There are MAnagers for those fans.

I wanted to add to my wishlist this:IT's like the star system in WC:Each very famous player can have his own type of celebrating(unique and changeable):Raul would kiss his wedding ring or pick up the ball from the net and shoot it high( do you remember RCF ver. FCB?),Rivaldo would take his shirt off and make the ''flag thing'' or kiss his wedding ring,Ronaldo would raise his finger just to show that he is the scorer while running slowly and smiling,Klose would do a summersult,Robbie Kean would do the thing with the 2 pistols or the arrow, those dudes From Senegal could do their dancing thing,Beckham would raise his hands and his face to the sky while smiling and (if he plays with England,Heskey or Ferdinard would as usual hug him or climb on him) or (if he plays for MAn. UTD then there would a cheer like in the Vodaone commercial),he could also kiss the Lions' Bagde on his shirt,Zizu would raise his hand etc.As for the not so famous players, for them there would be default celebrations like those who now exist in FIFA 2002 or WC,and of course everyone(not only Ariel;) ) could change them. You can see Virtua Strimker 3 for very good celebrations(ex. when his team is back for 2 goals and he scores one or he needs more,he would pick the ball for the net and run to the centre or kick it there(Crespo at the penalty with SWE).

that's all.

cheers.

1) penalty shoot-out mode that you don't have to play a whole match to get on to (like there was in fifa rtwc98)

2) ability to play goalkeepers outfield

i don't know if anyone have posted this before,it may sound outraging but i think EA should include ALL the STADIUMS for all the 32 European Best Teams(those who qualify for the UCL) and the one where the Final is held.I don't care if it's going to need another CD,as long as the realism improves. And it should also include an EA stadium editor (like in Max Payne with the level AND model editor) so that we can apply stadiums for other teams that qualify for the next season.

CROWDS:crowds are terrible in FIFA.EA should take example of the crowds in games like Virtua Striker 3,Virtua Tennis 2,NBA 2002 from SEGA(too). Those are class crowd models. You would say that because of the detail it would hold up the game speed and need terra systems.Well,EA can take just example and build low detail models of ordinary people as they would be seen from far,and do not keep those cartoon figures that cheer up all the time even when a player is injured(the images do).

For FIFA 2003:about boots,i think EA should have an appropriate editor similar to the others just for boots. And they should definately have bigger images for the boot textures. And the logic should be different.EA can have (let's say) 20 default types of boots(each one of them could be particularly coloured without changing the boot)Example:number 1,ea's classic with the logo, can be coloured by using a big pallet variety(both the whole shoe and the EA LOGO,like the ''40 types of boots in 2002).AND the most important:EA should leave blank 30(or more) models for our own design! That would be the best thing ever, and we could enjoy all the boots we know.AND I BELIEVE THAT THE TEXTURE TECHNIQUE SHOULD BE THROWN DOWN TO THE DUMPS BECAUSE IT'S TOTAL CRAP AND IT MAKES IT HARDER FOR US TO DESIGN OUR OWN BOOT TEXTURES.EXAMPLE:it could use 8 images for each pair of boots(inside the Editor, fulle editable). These can be 1.bottom of left boot 2.left side of left boot 3.right side for left boot 4.upper view of boots(not required but selectable) and the other 4 images for the other one boot of the same boot.Of course there would be a preview screen!( I am acting like I am definately sure that all the previus things will happen, and i also want a preview screen) :crazyboy:

I was sitting in the living room and i thought about this and that and i came to my room to post this.Hope you like my ideas.

cheers.

Well, i could reply this. Those are good suggestions, but it's only estetic move forward. FIFA needs better gameplay, it needs manager options, much manager options. Does anybody see that?? FIFA needs manager options.

well, yes, i could be more specific. I'll type much:)

About manager options: when you are in main menu, u could choose manager style of playing, but you could still controll with your players on field.
So, when you click on for example Manager, u could type your name like a manager, and choose a picture. U could import your picture if u got one on HD. Next, the game will be like season, so days, months, etc... Ok, when u for example send an offer for a player, club will responde you for couple of days. Then, you could manage with youth team. So, if you see that some of youth players r good, u could promote them in first team.
Then fatigue. Your players couldn't run like hell in 90 minutes of playing, so they could have much better fatigue.
Then they could make an in game program with u could download from special site new transfers, new young hopes and stuff like that. So, update.
Players mood is important, right? So, if one of your players is in bad mood, and u have him in first team, he will not pass, tackle, shoot, run right. So, he will be ready for a substitution.
During the season players attributes could change automaticly, so you couldn't controll with attributes. For example, Del Piero is old player, so his attributes will fall. Or, Totti was bad in shooting for 2 months. His shooting attributes was 55, now they are 50.
Or, a player with high potential, like Saviola, his attributes will grow.

Well, that's all for now:)) Please reply to this suggestion, and make your opinion. Sorry about bad english.
PLEASE READ THIS

hey those are great ideas, but i don't think that EA can fulfil all our suggestions, because they need very many days of programming and the game will be out in 4 months so.....

but it's nice to read other people suggestions.

Now? Well, whattahell, yes, give it to them right now, and we'll see... Who knows, maby they'll do little move...
And, about my ideas, send them too. I know that EA needs much time to make manager options like i suggested, but, who knows, maby they'll do a miracle.

Gameplay wise:
- Return the ability to switch formations at will.

- Formations that work correctly (in FIFA 2002, in 3-5-2, your strikers played on the wings).

- Create own set plays/return the ability to pick where your players run in set plays (FIFA 2001).

- Perhaps have a list of 3 free kick takers, and prompting you to choose which one to take the free kick each time (isn't it annoying to have Chilavert take a free in the opponents half and then get caught out? Or to have your striker take a defensive free kick and not run up in time?)

- Change the penalty sequence -- In FIFA 2002 you really only had 3 options: too easy for the GK to save. Return it to FIFA 2001.

- Prevent goalkeepers from allowing slow backpasses to enter their own goal (stupid AI logic prevents them picking up slow rolling balls)

- Better offside calls: In FIFA 2002, offside is called if the ball rebounds off the post/goalkeeper to a passively offside forward.
Also, sometimes the computer fails to call blatant (10 or 15m) offsides.

- The ability to have an injured player go off temporarily for treatment (and in terms of cinematics - have a seriously injured player stretchered off and not run off).

- The computer should be smart enough to make tactical substitutions (I haven't seen the CPU make subs since FIFA 1998 RTWC).

And aesthetically:
- Linesmen and referees that give proper signals (if Konami could do it for the Super Nintendo...)

- A more complete game -- like FIFA 1998 RTWC (you could play leagues, world cup quals, world cup and indoor). It is easily the best FIFA to date.

 International team lists, like in RTWC 98, when all players of same nationality are available for selection and can pick your own squad. Otherwise you are stuck with players without any back-ups for a required position and also its not your squad, you are stuck with players that you don’t like or are a discrace eg. Phil Neville. When players are added with a nationality given they should be updated to the list.

 Stats show assists and man of the match awards as well as goals and cards.

 Different squad sizes e.g. league 16, Europe 18 and international 23.

 Able to cancel substitutions, or confirmation of subs because you can accidentally click on the wrong player and you can’t change it back.

 When a game starts and the teams are shown it should show the formation and were the players are playing as well as who’s on the subs bench.

 Players should be able to reject clubs depending on the clubs reputation and the computer should be able to make purchases during the season.

 Players names on shirts.

 More stadiums such as international stadiums with different pitch sizes, such as Man Utd’s pitch is wider than Evertons.. Also, attendance figures for games could be shown.

 Various weather conditions, such as sunny, light rain, heavy rain, sleet, snow(very rare, orange ball used), and maybe windy, which could affect flight of ball when passing. Also night and day games, however night games shouldn’t look dark as it is under flood lights, 4 shadows can be used with a different type of light as pitches are usually too dark to see. This could all be related to month/ time of games.

 Get players looking alike with their names in the game, as it looks disgraceful when a national side like Holland haven’t got one named player, they are all numbered.

 Supporters should wear home and away kits for any match.

 Make pitch bigger as it will allow players to more time/run with the ball, different types of skill.

 Different balls for different matches eg-league-mitre, international-fevernova, champions league- black stars etc

 Keepers have power bar when kicking/ throwing ball out of their hands, so you can put it were you want, even throw up to half way line. On Fifa 2002 when the keeper kicked it it keeps going straight up the middle and to the defenders or headed on for them.

 Keepers should be able to come off the line in one-on-one situations, and receive bookings and sendings off if taking a player down(automatically done by comp). Also be able to punch crosses and corners if possible with different outcomes depending on type of ball.

 Keepers shouldn’t all be the same as they all make the same saves and misses. Better keepers should be able to punch away corners easier and should pull of great saves that others couldnt. They could also dive at the players feet and have a better probability getting the ball.

 Keepers shouldn’t be positioned in the middle of the goal 24/7, they should be near post when needed to be to stop outrageous goals or stupid continuous goals near post every time. More stats could be used for them, eg, positioning, handling, reflexes, and decisions (eg punches, or coming out on one on ones). If a shot is powerfully hit at a keeper, he should tip it over if it is too hard to hold. Shots straight towards the keeper should be caught at their chest instead of needless dives, without them falling over all of the time.

 Keepers should be able to save with their legs more as well as their hands. This could stop them from diving to the player all of the time and would look better in some circumstances, rather than completely missing the ball.

 More stats should be used in the game that would make a difference to game play, eg, shot power, finishing, long shots, crossing. This could stop unrealistic goals as Van Nistelrooy always seems to scores 40 yarders, when he hasn’t got the greatest long shot, unlike Beckham. Could also affect set-pieces. Also, players like Beckham should be able to curl the ball more on free kicks unlike someone like Zola.

 You shouldn’t have to pass, shoot or cross the way your facing as you have to come in field or can only finish in one particular place. When powering up you shouldn’t be able to change direction when your shooting so you can place the ball where you like, in Fifa 2002 you cant finish across the keeper while running across the other way (2 reasons, lack of direction on shots, and poor positioning from the keeper/always straight in middle of goal). Stats should affect the crossing quality as well as the other ones involved. Good passers aren’t always the best crosses, and Fifa 2002 is also too hard to get a player on the end of a cross, you shouldn’t have to come in field to cross a ball. Shots should be able to be aimed along the ground or in the air. Miss kicks can occur such as the bobbling ball rolls towards the kepper or out of play and ballooned shots over the bar.

 Players should used preferred feet as much as possible. Its annoying when a full back such as Babbel, who is at right back and is right footed, goes down the flank to pass the ball and curve it in field, and plays it out with his left foot. There should be certain options stats available for this e.g- Right or left only(uses that foot only and as much as possible, otherwise completely miss-kicks or fluffs it), Right or Left (predominately uses favoured foot but could do a pass or so with the weaker) or both/two footed (equally as good with both feet, someone like Figo). This could also help the problems of beating the keeper too easily as when you watch the replay, when a player shoots the ball moves slightly to they players foot causing the keeper to dive early and finishing it easily, the player should move his foot to the ball depending on where the ball is.

 Players should be able to dive when they have the ball, either getting away with some or giving away a free-kick, or getting booked, especially if in the penalty box.

 Players should have a morale depending on how good they are. If they have a type of rating in their profile (youth player, rotation player, first team player, world class player) their participation in games could result in affecting their performance, such as a world class player who isn’t involved for a run of 3 or 4 games could affect his game, finishing easy chances, whereas a rotation player would be affected at about 6 or 7 games.

 Players should pick up more injuries for both on and off the field. Off the field injuries would be better suited as it is very common with different lengthy injuries depending on the type. This could be a stat on the editor call injury proneness as some players are injured more than others. Players should be able to pick up little knocks or niggles in where they limp around for a minute or two and goalkeepers should get injured as well.

 A foot in tackle (conservative) should result in a foul if it is not timed properly. As you can win the ball with your foot when the opposition is chesting it when really you would be swiping his legs away. You should also get booked if you do this from behind too often / consistently/ or disrupt a good opportunity. The shoulder barge should be OK but foul when fromm behind or ball still controlled in air.

 If you run into a player and press into him for too long ,you should knock him over either giving away a free kick or resulting in carrying on. This would also depend on a players strength as smaller players have the tendency to get pushed off more easily like in ISS

 Different finishing styles should be used. This should be used when on goal, if the power bar is low put placed high it should be slotted in the top corner side footed, but if the power bar is high then it should be blasted towards the corner with the laces of the boot. Also, if the keeper comes out and makes a dive at the player then he should be able to do a delicate chip over him as most quality strikers do this one on one or go straight round him. They could also be saved so there is no repetition if the keeper doesn’t go down too early. This could be a doulble tap on the shoot button. This could be carried on to actually be used as a chip instead of using the air pass to do it. The consistency should be evolved from stats (ball control) and be done when the keeper is off the line also. The can be saved easily if done from stupid distance or bad angle. Also, the ball should curve as much as it looks out of place, unless it is a miss kick or a special someone taking a shot- Beckham, Roberto Carlos etc. The wild curve outside the box on Fifa 2002 beats keepers too easily, especially when the computer does it 40 yards out. Also, if a player is to curl the ball he would either use the inside or outside of the foot to do so, especially when clearing down the line to keep it in play.
 Headers and volleys should be able to be placed anywhere and also aimed into the ground to bounce up into the goal as this happens regularly in football.

Hartley147

Youth Team
continued....

 Computer opponents should foul more as they hardly give away one a game, and could get booked more therefore. They should also be able to dive themselves like I previously stated for our controlled players, getting caught and not caught.

 Instead of all players complaining after a foul some should apologise, help player up or walk away depending on severity of foul or aggressiveness of player.

 If a player is badly or awkwardly fouled then he should hobble round for a moment or two/ run it off and this could reduce the condition in the current game or could be called off field for treatment (video clips) and brought back on.

 If a player missed a good chance with another player in a better position the he should be moaning or complaining at him or the other to himself.

 Set off side traps and 2 man marking system like in Fifa 2001.

 Toss coin at beginning of match for kick-off and choice of end, including pens for first pen and which end.

 Fatigue should wear down quicker in shorter matches. Different rates for different length of matches.

 Fitness should considerably affect fatigue, low fatigue should mean a player would be able to last the whole match and bring fatigue bar back.

 Sliding shots shouldn’t be powerful- keeper beaten from outside box is impossible while he is on the line and stop them doing it directly after a blocked shot-too quick in reaction, as though it was planned.

 A player shouldn’t be able to slide along the floor and chip the ball then volley it away, it should be just hooked out first time with their preferred foot.

 When passing the ball swerve in the other direction (depend on preferred foot) then they should use the outside if the boot for one with adequate distance(short passes not a full long distance(passing stat controls this), otherwise the player would just normally move around to it and hit it with a bit of slice.

 When players are heading a long distance (not being challenged) then they should thrust up right through the ball and not just look like doing a normal header.

 Players should argue/ call to ref/ put arms in air when a decision on a set piece is a close call or on an offside etc…

 Linesmen should run up and down their designated area so that you can see the decision given and also looks like they are part of the game. If there is a bad foul then they should shake the flag vigorously above their head like they usually do(show clips if he is off the screen or him talking to the ref isref wasn’t sure)

 Linesmen should hold up boards for subs with assistants checking the studs before the player goes on field

 Commentary should be of a better standard instead of just phrases at a time, they should be linked in a continuous flow most times, such as “Murphy plays a one-two with Gerrard, crosses it in towards Heskey”. Also, they should explain about the starting lineup such as players injured/returned from injury, dropped from last match, suspended/returned from suspension, recent run of results, debutants or players to watch.

 Commentators should notice a reshuffle in teams during the game, players have a good/bad game and someone who had picked up a knock or injury.

 Commentating should be more enthusiastic, like when a player is going to shoot long range or through on goal. Instead of a dull “gerrard shoots” it should be something like “and its GERRARRRRD” or “and Owens through ON GOAL”.

 Crowds of a home team should de significantly louder than that of the away crowd. They should urge their team on when attacking and clap/ooh ahh from a good/close piece of play, this way you get to feel the atmosphere.

 More realistic set pieces, such as central defenders coming up for corners and dangerous free-kicks (could be optional so you can choose who goes up and who stays back), and not just 1 player trying to score against 3 or 4 defenders, in which can be done unrealistically. More people should be involved in the box to make it genuine and not as easy for the computer to score. Camera angles should be changed on penalties and set pieces as well, you should be able to view the goal from a normail camera view. This is a pain on Fifa 2002 as you can only just see the goal and with hardly anyone to aim for, its pointless having them. This would help on penalties (ie normal in game view) as if you miss you can follow up or clear the ball, but normally by the time the camera moves back to original positional the player finishes it off if it is saved by the keeper and you don’t know were your running.

 Different free kick styles eg. Beckham (long run up, inside of foot), Rivaldo (short run up, iside of foot), Roberto Carlos (Long run up, outside of foot). This could be altered in the palyer edit panel.

 Option in team management to bring up defenders for corners and dangerous freekicks (eg- around the box). This should include who will be coming up for the corner and resulting in full backs staying back for defending.

 Option of allowing players on posts during a corner kick, should be able to choose in team management as most teams do this and stops small people doing useless jobs trying to out jump tall defenders.

 Enable different type of set-pieces from free kicks and corners like in Fifa 2001 so it gives you options and looks more realistic.

 Players shouldn’t run straight on to a free kick they should be at an angle when taking it, just like crossing should be using their preferred foot.

 The curve on the ball should be completely controllable, not just either straight ahead or completely to the left or right. It should be momentous when holding it down so you can just a slight curve instead of too much or none. Players should have different amounts of swerve on a free-kick, ie Beckham and Roberto Carlos can swerve it more that Hasselbaink or Zola.

 When long throws are taken the player should take a run up for a throw instead of standing still on the spot and launching it for miles.

 Players should show signals on corners after you have chosen direction and power as it looks stupid when they signal for a short corner everytime and then you hit it long. I wonder if the person who programmed it knows what it meant. (eg, one arm signalled= short, 2 arms = long.

one funny idea

hey i just wanted to post this one:after you have made an aggresive foul, the player should be given control to react as he wants, depending on the other player's attitude.EXAMPLE:

1.You have just tackled an opponenet very harshly and is ''whipping the floor'' out of his pain. You have some options:

button A:admit your mistake and go give your hand to the player down and admit your mistake to the ref too.as a result(this can be a random feature) you avoid or not being booked.

button S:when the whistle is heard, you raise your hands with a gesture like ''what?'' or ''oh no!'' or ''man!''.You pull the opp up agrily and jogg away while swearing without speaking to the ref.in this situation,it will depend on the ref whether he will book you or not.

button D:the best one.You know that you did nothing wrong and the opp just took a very theatrical dive to the pitch. You go and stand over him while shouting ''stand up you pussy'' or ''what are ya doin' there volk?'' or ''come on actor!'' or ''ante siko pano re karagiozi!'' (greek phrase, optional (duh!)).The ref approaches after a while and you still keep complaining to both the opp and him. Here too the cards are in his pockets, which means he decides...You still keep complaining and after a while you go back after a gesture of the ref(imagine Colina) and you explain some thing to the co-players.

Here's something else.I think that we should also be given control of the player that has gone ''yellow'' or ''red''.These are the options:

button A:you just walk away with the head down, while swearing.

button S:you complain agrily to the ref, explaining the whole situation.you use your hands to show him some things about the otha playa. If it's a case of a yellow card, afte the complaints the ref may decide to pull off a second one to you or to other players that would come to defend you(you call them with W).Finally the ref shows ''contniue''...

button D:the best one(again).Think of it as a Joao Pinto reaction, just a little bit more violent. You try to push the ref hard after a yellow card or even kick him!The timing here should be critical:If you push him at the time he put his hand to the chest pocket for the yellow card, then he would prefer his ''asspocket'' for the red magic ''piece of paper''.After that you could use buttons Q W or E for punch, kick, spit, as you leave the field.Once again you can call your teammates(this time with Ctrl and Alt).God knows what happens next.

These are my ideas.Beyond trying to be funny,i strongly believe that EA should give us control of our player's reactions, not just poor cinematics.

cheers.
