 International team lists, like in RTWC 98, when all players of same nationality are available for selection and can pick your own squad. Otherwise you are stuck with players without any back-ups for a required position and also its not your squad, you are stuck with players that you don’t like or are a discrace eg. Phil Neville. When players are added with a nationality given they should be updated to the list.
 Stats show assists and man of the match awards as well as goals and cards.
 Different squad sizes e.g. league 16, Europe 18 and international 23.
 Able to cancel substitutions, or confirmation of subs because you can accidentally click on the wrong player and you can’t change it back.
 When a game starts and the teams are shown it should show the formation and were the players are playing as well as who’s on the subs bench.
 Players should be able to reject clubs depending on the clubs reputation and the computer should be able to make purchases during the season.
 Players names on shirts.
 More stadiums such as international stadiums with different pitch sizes, such as Man Utd’s pitch is wider than Evertons.. Also, attendance figures for games could be shown.
 Various weather conditions, such as sunny, light rain, heavy rain, sleet, snow(very rare, orange ball used), and maybe windy, which could affect flight of ball when passing. Also night and day games, however night games shouldn’t look dark as it is under flood lights, 4 shadows can be used with a different type of light as pitches are usually too dark to see. This could all be related to month/ time of games.
 Get players looking alike with their names in the game, as it looks disgraceful when a national side like Holland haven’t got one named player, they are all numbered.
 Supporters should wear home and away kits for any match.
 Make pitch bigger as it will allow players to more time/run with the ball, different types of skill.
 Different balls for different matches eg-league-mitre, international-fevernova, champions league- black stars etc
 Keepers have power bar when kicking/ throwing ball out of their hands, so you can put it were you want, even throw up to half way line. On Fifa 2002 when the keeper kicked it it keeps going straight up the middle and to the defenders or headed on for them.
 Keepers should be able to come off the line in one-on-one situations, and receive bookings and sendings off if taking a player down(automatically done by comp). Also be able to punch crosses and corners if possible with different outcomes depending on type of ball.
 Keepers shouldn’t all be the same as they all make the same saves and misses. Better keepers should be able to punch away corners easier and should pull of great saves that others couldnt. They could also dive at the players feet and have a better probability getting the ball.
 Keepers shouldn’t be positioned in the middle of the goal 24/7, they should be near post when needed to be to stop outrageous goals or stupid continuous goals near post every time. More stats could be used for them, eg, positioning, handling, reflexes, and decisions (eg punches, or coming out on one on ones). If a shot is powerfully hit at a keeper, he should tip it over if it is too hard to hold. Shots straight towards the keeper should be caught at their chest instead of needless dives, without them falling over all of the time.
 Keepers should be able to save with their legs more as well as their hands. This could stop them from diving to the player all of the time and would look better in some circumstances, rather than completely missing the ball.
 More stats should be used in the game that would make a difference to game play, eg, shot power, finishing, long shots, crossing. This could stop unrealistic goals as Van Nistelrooy always seems to scores 40 yarders, when he hasn’t got the greatest long shot, unlike Beckham. Could also affect set-pieces. Also, players like Beckham should be able to curl the ball more on free kicks unlike someone like Zola.
 You shouldn’t have to pass, shoot or cross the way your facing as you have to come in field or can only finish in one particular place. When powering up you shouldn’t be able to change direction when your shooting so you can place the ball where you like, in Fifa 2002 you cant finish across the keeper while running across the other way (2 reasons, lack of direction on shots, and poor positioning from the keeper/always straight in middle of goal). Stats should affect the crossing quality as well as the other ones involved. Good passers aren’t always the best crosses, and Fifa 2002 is also too hard to get a player on the end of a cross, you shouldn’t have to come in field to cross a ball. Shots should be able to be aimed along the ground or in the air. Miss kicks can occur such as the bobbling ball rolls towards the kepper or out of play and ballooned shots over the bar.
 Players should used preferred feet as much as possible. Its annoying when a full back such as Babbel, who is at right back and is right footed, goes down the flank to pass the ball and curve it in field, and plays it out with his left foot. There should be certain options stats available for this e.g- Right or left only(uses that foot only and as much as possible, otherwise completely miss-kicks or fluffs it), Right or Left (predominately uses favoured foot but could do a pass or so with the weaker) or both/two footed (equally as good with both feet, someone like Figo). This could also help the problems of beating the keeper too easily as when you watch the replay, when a player shoots the ball moves slightly to they players foot causing the keeper to dive early and finishing it easily, the player should move his foot to the ball depending on where the ball is.
 Players should be able to dive when they have the ball, either getting away with some or giving away a free-kick, or getting booked, especially if in the penalty box.
 Players should have a morale depending on how good they are. If they have a type of rating in their profile (youth player, rotation player, first team player, world class player) their participation in games could result in affecting their performance, such as a world class player who isn’t involved for a run of 3 or 4 games could affect his game, finishing easy chances, whereas a rotation player would be affected at about 6 or 7 games.
 Players should pick up more injuries for both on and off the field. Off the field injuries would be better suited as it is very common with different lengthy injuries depending on the type. This could be a stat on the editor call injury proneness as some players are injured more than others. Players should be able to pick up little knocks or niggles in where they limp around for a minute or two and goalkeepers should get injured as well.
 A foot in tackle (conservative) should result in a foul if it is not timed properly. As you can win the ball with your foot when the opposition is chesting it when really you would be swiping his legs away. You should also get booked if you do this from behind too often / consistently/ or disrupt a good opportunity. The shoulder barge should be OK but foul when fromm behind or ball still controlled in air.
 If you run into a player and press into him for too long ,you should knock him over either giving away a free kick or resulting in carrying on. This would also depend on a players strength as smaller players have the tendency to get pushed off more easily like in ISS
 Different finishing styles should be used. This should be used when on goal, if the power bar is low put placed high it should be slotted in the top corner side footed, but if the power bar is high then it should be blasted towards the corner with the laces of the boot. Also, if the keeper comes out and makes a dive at the player then he should be able to do a delicate chip over him as most quality strikers do this one on one or go straight round him. They could also be saved so there is no repetition if the keeper doesn’t go down too early. This could be a doulble tap on the shoot button. This could be carried on to actually be used as a chip instead of using the air pass to do it. The consistency should be evolved from stats (ball control) and be done when the keeper is off the line also. The can be saved easily if done from stupid distance or bad angle. Also, the ball should curve as much as it looks out of place, unless it is a miss kick or a special someone taking a shot- Beckham, Roberto Carlos etc. The wild curve outside the box on Fifa 2002 beats keepers too easily, especially when the computer does it 40 yards out. Also, if a player is to curl the ball he would either use the inside or outside of the foot to do so, especially when clearing down the line to keep it in play.
 Headers and volleys should be able to be placed anywhere and also aimed into the ground to bounce up into the goal as this happens regularly in football.
