div1 extreme. When I went from div2 hard to div1 hard there was a jump in difficulty, but it's nothing compared to the div2-div1 jump on extreme. I've played 2 games in div1 on extreme now and somehow I've got a W1 D1 L0 record. I've only scored 1 goal though. The defense is a lot harder to get through and create a good scoring chance at this level.

I'd got to the level on div2 where I'd probably get 2-3 1v1s in a match. I think I've had 2 so far in 2 games in div1, and even then my player was under pressure from a defender which caused him to shoot too close to the keeper.

This is real football. ML Div1 Extreme, there is nothing like it in any football game including the lower levels of PES2 itself. :D

heres what i do. since i'm the first to wake up and i cant find nothing to watch in the morning, i play WE6. I bring my pillows from my bed and place them by myfeet. And when that damn extreme difficulty pisses me off and i slam my controller, it hits the pillows.

But damn, when i first steped up to extreme i was like "what the f***!". My first four games sucked, i won 0, tied 1, and lost 3. And i didnt score a single goal. I had to take a break from the game cuz i was so close to kicking the PS2.

About half-way through my second season on normal. I didn't gain promation as I tried to win D3 with the default players (tough as Sh!t to do), but now it looks like i am in control. Just gained promation and won the Tiny Cup, and I just rolled of 10 straight wins

Here is my starting 11.

GK - cesarsanchez
RB - donovan (didn't know he could play RB did you)
CB - Ivan Campo
CB - Vorlander
LB - Roberto Larcos (is a must)
RW - Babingida
CM - Guti (waiting to get Zidane)
CM - Figo
LW - McManaman
ST - Munitiz
ST - Olisedabe

Not the best team, but I really haven't decided who I want next besides raul and zidane.

Yeah, Scholes has been my best acquisition, too. In the 2 seasons I had him he has always been in the top 2 for points (goals and assists). Has been in a bit of a slump since I started Div. 2, though.

Just started an ML game this weekend (playing on normal level - yes, I'm a complete wuss.. well actually I'm just not that good at the game yet) as Aston Villa (I figured I'd pick the worst-rated team since I'm a bad player to begin with, just to make it more interesting). I finished dead last in my first season in Division 3. I only scored 4 goals in 14 games and allowed something like 23 (I scored the least and allowed the most. Yay me). I did have several 0-0 draws and got spanked a few times as well. Man, those default players are HORRIBLE. Many's the game I found myself cursing out load at the TV because of those guys. :f***:

The good news is that I made a run to the finals of the Tiny Cup before losing 2-1 to Ajax (I edited all the team names and players to the real ones). So I got a halfway decent amount of points to get some decent players (most notably some good forwards and defenders). Going into season two in Division 3, my team looks like this:

modified 4-4-2 diamond formation

GK - Chilavert/Schmeichel (sp?)

DF - Two default losers (doesn't matter which ones since they all suck) plus Marquez (Mexico) and Nadal (Spain).

MF - Babangida, Ginola (from original Aston Villa team), Carter (my created player with 99 speed, based on myself ;) ), and some random default loser guy. I modified the midfield and placed the two outside MF's (Babangida and Carter) closer to the sideline, acting as MF/WG's. Their sole task is to make runs down the sidelines and cross the ball into the center for the forwards and OMF (Ginola). The other MF is a defensive stopper (the random dude).

CF - Denilson and Edilson (both from Brazil).

I played a 4-5-1 through the first season, using Edilson as a lone striker. I signed Denilson in the offseason to give some more support to the attack, and also added Marquez and Nadal. Ginola, Babangida, Chilavert, and Carter were all signed during season one. So far I've played one preseason game and won 1-0 (against the newly-relegated Marseilles). So maybe I can be more competitive in season two...

An interesting side note: I use Chilavert to take some of my free kicks and he actually scored our first goal in Season One. Kind of odd looking through the goalscorers list and seeing his name up there as the only GK among CF's and MF's. :D

I played one season is D1 on normal and was first and won everything on offer, then I set it to hard and did the same although it was tougher and required me to do more training in between games. I realised that I always used to find my first game after playing for a long time difficult to win or draw. So I started having training sessions where I play against my subs and reserve guys 11 on 11. It really helps to be warmed up and ready when u play on hard or else u miss a lot of chances and make silly mistakes in defence. I am yet to play master league on extreme. I havent done so yet cos u cant change it to extreme using the team u have built so far, u need to start from scratch using punks like cecil and miranda. I feel so ****ing intimidated by that prospect. Anyways, I having been winning a majority of my games so far on extreme, I am playing the International league and after 23 games I am in first position. I won the Konami Umbro cup on extreme as well and it enabled me to use the correct name for teams in commentary.

well after numerous game over's my latest season actually had a surpurise. I had about 300 points left going into the tiny cup. I played Aston Villa first and beat them 2-1. I next played hamburg and managed to beat them 1-0 on a golden golden 7 minutes intot the first extra time. I played Ajax in the final and played one of my best games and beat them 2-0. I couldn't believe it. I won the tiny cup and now have over 4,000 points. I bought Deisler and a def. from Ecudaor I think in the off season. My buys so far are Rustu(Kepper), Lumassi, Def. from Ecuador froget his name, Stewart, Deisler, Bagandia and Olisedebe. I used a defensive 4-4-2 and will stick to that as it seems to work well for me. I am playing 4 friendlies and we'll see how season 2 goes but things are looking up.

I too survived many game overs on Extreme. It took me four seasons just to get out of D3. Then, we took off, winning D2 in season 5. About to finish my sixth season with Bordeaux. Just won Division 1 on the last day of the season. We had to travel to Lazio, who were in second place 1 point behind us. It did not start well -- Claudio Lopez scored on a volley in the 23rd minute. Thankfully, my MVP, Niall Quinn equalized just before the break. We held on for a 1-1 draw. About to started the ML Championships, and on to a summer of spending (I really want Vieria).

4-3-3

Stelea (ROM)

Joseph Yobo (Nigeria)
Leboeuf (FRA)
Rehmer (GER)
Marelos (MEX)

Cellini
Zidane (FRA)
Ortega (ARG)

Quinn (IRL)
Babangida (Nigeria)
McCarthy (RSA)

Subs: Rustu (TUR), Elliott (SCO), Van Meir (BEL), Donovan (USA), Lisztes (Hungary), Miranda, Iorga, Agahowa (Nigeria), Bayoko (Ivory Coast), Dario Silva (Uruguay)

After season 2, I upgraded the lineup and bought some additional players for depth and also to replace some starters that I traded away for more points. I got good offers from the CPU for Ginola and Edilson, and traded them both for about 5000 transfer points each. :rockman: I then used those points to pick up some players from other teams and also from the international teams. I now have some depth as well as decent starters and it seems to be working out, as the info in my sig will tell you. I'm still using the same modified 4-4-2 diamond formation and here is the starting lineup for season 3:

GK- Chilavert (Paraguay)

RB- Bermudez (Colombia)
CB- Nadal (Spain)
CB- Sanchez (Mexico)
LB- Ayala (Argentina)

DMF - Helguera? (Spain) (I can never remember this guy's name, hence the "?")
LMF - Babangida (Nigeria)
RMF - Carter (created player)
OMF - Hadji (Morocco)

CF - Djiouf (Senegal)
CF - Denilson (Brazil)

Notable bench players:

GK - Schmeichel (Denmark)

DF - Vorlander (one of the few original players still remaining. With a defense rating in the 80's, he's just too good to get rid of right now)

MF - Palicio (Peru)
MF - Zahovic (Slovenia)

CF - Merson (I have no idea where this guy came from but I saw him on the free players list and he's pretty good so I signed him)
CF - Castello (Another default player. His ratings are not that good but he does well when he plays. Sometimes he starts when Djiouf or Denilson are not in top form, and has scored a few needed goals. So for now, he stays)

Overall team budget is about 405 points a game. Not sure yet whether that's good or bad, but I have enough points in reserve right now to finish the season without any problems even if we lose the rest of our games.
