3-4-1-2...got excellent results, even tho i don't especially like to watch teams playing with 3 central defenders in real life, i must admit it's the formation that suits my game best...
i also enjoy 4-2-3-1 but i feel a lack of support upfront...

for me, it all boils down to two vital positions (ok, make it three): wingers and the playmaker. fast wingers and a playmaker with accurate passing make a team very strong...get agathe from celtic and beasley from psv, excellent choices for wingers, as well as carlos alberto as playmaker from porto

I use 4-4-1-1 in FIFA2005. But I will try 5-2-3 now.

I used 4-2-1-2 in FIFA2004, and worked great, but this year its not so good.

Could someone tell me, what difference it makes, if I choose possession, wing play, or long balls?

I didnt see any difference.... What does it exactly change?

Now I only use 5-2-3.
I find it's the best. There are 5 men back and the two wing backs defend the wing play that the computer loves. Then you don't need many midfielders as it's not too hard to advance the ball. Those 2 wing backs are key, as they move the ball up the wing to the forwards. Or, a centre-back will pass it to one of the midfielders who then gives it to a striker.

And I use Possession so that my players face me for passes.
