I used to play for my national team under 18's before i came to college in the USA....
some friends thought that i should try out for the University team as they sucked anyways......Im more of the Sheringham type of player ...my style is based on brains rather than physical ability...
so i meet the coach and he sets up a try out.....i go there with 4 random college kids and he asks us to run around the field 5 times as fast as possible..... I ran and ran and ran i finshed 3rd and then we did 4 different types of runnings and i was told at the end that i didn't make it because my time wasn't fast enough..i didn't even touch a ball!!!
all college teams here have is 3 jamaican guys who play like Heskey or think they're so skillful like the stupid Ameobi and the rest are f***ing wrestlers hehe
thats a true story and i thought that was so ignorant and thats why i think the game would never improve here and people won't enjoy it....
we used to play barefoot on the street when its 130 F in the middle of the summer and never got tired of it.....thats the beauty of the game not how much you can lift or how much you can run
