Kinda know what you mean Yash. When you've time you just put it off and put it off, why do today what you can leave 'til tomorrow (H)

But all good students can pull a gem out of the bag at the last minute.

Indeed. Looks just like me. Yesterday I studied the whole biology book in a night. Went to bed at 3 am. Something like 250 pages...

And I can't complain of my notes...but if I studied frequently, I would have much higher ones...

I studied 14 chapters (an average of 20-25 pages each) in one night. I could have done at least half of that over the weekend but no....

Did you ever say what you're studying?

I only have one paper (20 pages, still haven't started :(), and then two finals left in my undergrad career. I graduate Sunday May 14th at 10:00 AM. I have all the energy in the world when it comes down to it, because there's no way that I'm going to fail a class and have to stretch it out one more semester.

While not as hardcore as the rest of you...I once stayed up late to finish reading Crime and Punishment as I had to review it the day after, fell asleep though, woke up at around 6 and realized I had like 250 pages left, managed to finish the book and sort a review out in time for school at 8.30 :chew: I got an A :jap:

Crime and Punishment is a GREAT book. Maybe one of the best I've ever read. Actually I'm a huge fan of the mid-late 1800's Russian novelists. Tolstoy is AMAZING and a huge influence on my life and philosophy, Dostoevsky is also a big fave. Once school ends (I don't read for fun during the school year usually) The Brothers Karamazov is the next thing I'm going to read. I have it on my dresser.

11 pages through and it's 4:46 AM. I haven't put in any references yet, just writing from my head and my notes. I'm going to bed now and the current plan is: Class from noon to 2:00 PM (although I might be able to crank out another few pages in that class, since it's a huge blowoff), come home and finish writing the paper by 5:00 PM. If I can get the references in, great, otherwise forget about it. Then, go get wasted on margaritas!! Hey, come on guys, it's Cinco de Mayo, how are you not gonna get wasted on margaritas? I figure I can either get my references in the paper before getting drunk, or if that fails I can do it early saturday morning (technically all the prof said was that he wanted it by the weekend and you have to electronically submit it, I think saturday morning qualifies, it's not like he'll finish making corrections on all of them in 3 hours, it'll take him all weekend!).

Question: do you guys put in references while you're writing your research paper, or afterwards? I do them after, but it probably makes more sense to do them as you go.

After Shifty, but thats cos i see referencing as the final hurdle. Without referencing at the end i wouldnt FEEL like i'd actually done it. Weird i know, but we all get into ruitines.

You guys should do a bit of work here and there throughout the semester! It helps :)

Latest I've finished work was 1am for my first year Computing project. Nailed it. Was absolutely chuffed. Pity those efforts count for nothing.

I only have 2 finals this semester, this monday... ones for a Spanish class. (H)

After that I graduate on May 13th at 5pm in the Hispanic graduation ceremony and I'm done with college. (Y)

i've been done first year since April 20th. Only had three finals, which were al very easy with minimal study time. The longest i've gone was during the final week of class before exams. I had to write a 15-20 page report and actually get it published and binded and looking pro with Adobe InDesign. Took me 13 straight hours. I was proud of myself cuz it was the only time ive procrastinated this year and i proved to myself hat i can actually do it and still get a good grade (A-).

These are gonna be some great 4 months, but tbh First year was not as difficult as i expected.

To be honest, college was not as difficult as I expected. Of course if I actually tried to get A's instead of my solid B average, I'm sure it would have been a little harder. First year was easier than High School in my opinion.

totally agree for anyone in the UK Shifty. First year at uni isnt any where near as hard (or stressful) as last year at college/sixth form.

it depends a lot on your degree, but on the good public unis here, the ones that really open you a door to the market, college is generally hard with the teachers being very demanding on everything. The amount of stuff I go through in a semester is much more than a whole year in high school and so is the difficulty of the tests and correction criteria.

It's the total opposite in the private unis though, where you pay to pass.
