Pires played today in a friendly and still has a year on his contract. :jambo:

Campbell is nearing his sell-by-date, although i don' think he will go this summer, because he needs to regain his England place for the WC, which he lost to J.Terry. The only rumors around him were Newcastle in exchange for Jenas, but i doubt he would play for a club not in the CL.

Henry won't go. He played today as Captain, has a long contract and has stated that he is very happy at Arsenal. :rockman:

People forget last season Arsenal managed with a very average Vieira, who was often outshone by a 16 year old. Until the FA Cup final Vieira didn't show his normal heart for the club, he clearly needed a new challenge.

As an Arsenal fan I've seen our youngsters play regulary, I go many reserve games and the only player we'll have fun replacing is Vieira mainly cos we'll have to buy. Everyone else there's a youngster waiting in the wings.

He's not gonna leave. There's a bit of a contract stall. Nothing serious. but of course Arsenal are a big club, tabloids and papers love thinking there are crisises at big clubs. And gullable people and spurs fans believe it. I'll be surprised and VERY disappointed if Pires leaves.

I think it's for the better that Vieira is gone (though I will miss him in the EPL). However, I don't think that getting rid of Pires or Campbell would be smart just yet. In another year however, or in January, it would probably be time to let the young guys start to find their bearings.

If Wenger can find a reliable and capable new CB then Campbell will go. A name that comes to mind is Sebastian Squillaci from Monaco, if not Cristian Chivu although I'm not sure how willing Roma would be to sell.
