Actually, the state of Louisiana that you are referring to is only a small part of the overall region that used to be called Louisiana.

It was a much bigger region when Jefferson bought it from Napoleon. It was then broken up into smaller regions after that.

Why Australia?

1. There are more American states than Australian states. You could ask about those for more interesting diversity.

2. Even post-Soviet states are an option. According to Wikipedia:
Armenia
Azerbaijan
Belarus
Estonia
Georgia
Kazakhstan
Kyrgyzstan
Latvia
Lithuania
Moldova
Russia
Tajikistan
Turkmenistan
Ukraine
Uzbekistan

You could ask about the best post-Soviet state.

3. India also has more states than Australia. There, too, you get better diversity.

4. Brazil has almost exactly the same number of states as India. Again, better diversity.

Personally, I think that asking about Canada and Australia are terrible choices - no fun. They are extremely bland - no dis-respect intended.

Its Clearwater Beach, Florida, its known for having pure white sand and its usually ranked in the top 10 for nicest beaches. Its about 20 miles from where I live now so its not next to my house but pretty damn close.
