Beckham and Van Hooijdonk are the best, without a doubt IMO.

Torrie425: How much of Beckham do you see? His strike rate from free kicks is as good as anyones.
But both these two are good, and I couldnt split them.

Other guys worth a mention, are Ian Harte, Thierry Henry, Zidane (but an be inconsistant), Recoba, Scholl, Ronaldinho, Veron (never gets to do them now with Becks in the team) and when he hits them Roberto Carlos.

RC hits about 1 in 20 ...But when he does, its unstoppable

Since I know American players best...I would have to say Clint Mathis is the best on the dead ball. But Crew and MLS fans will remember the gifts of the "Polish Rifle," Robert Warzycha. Man could he strike a free kick with both power and swerve...I swear as good as some of Beckham's!

Beckham and Van Hooijdunk are definetly the best 2 free-kick tackers. But van Hooijdunk has more opportunites and it's a lot easier to score on a Holland side (not PSV and Ajax), than on any other premiership side. But i want say that it's way easier so Beckham is better. I will only see that after i see van Hooijdunk take free-kicks in England but for now they are both the best and world class! And why isn't Pierre not starting for Holland with Ruud? He always scores so many goals or atleast creates lots of chances, plus he is fecking tall!!!

He moved back to south America? When? . Was it because the Strasbourgh coach told him that he is too fat to play forward?(heard that from somewhere) I just thought that he was still playing in france, as i saw his picture in strasbourgh shirt in one magazine 1 and a half years ago.
