So now they've got:

WE9 (Original Japan release)
PES5
WE9:J-League
WE9:K-League
WE9:Bonus Pack
WE9:Liveware Evolution (Feb 7, 06)
WE9 North America (Somewhere between Mar-Jun, 06)

No wonder they can't release WE9 for North America (i.e. put PES5 in a different box and change the title screen) until Spring 06, they're too busy releasing almost one new version per month for the Japanese market!

I did write to Konami asking for details of whether the XBox version of WE9 was going to be backwards compatable on the 360 (like PES5 in Europe) but surprise sur-freaking-prise, they didn't reply, now 4 weeks later! Obviously too much trouble for them to bother with customers.

well, it's my guess that they sell loads of each Japanese version, so why not keep making them if people will buy them? And I would expect the Bonus Pack or LE will sell a damn sight more in Japan than WE9I would in the US?
Unfortunately for you Konami is a business, fortunately for me they bother to release at one version on PC and I am happy as long as that continues.

Well the WE was mainly for the Japanese/Asian market to start out with. Then the Europe market was exploited. You can't really blame them if they release different versions for the Japanese/Asian market. Since they see the market as their staple one. Ofcourse they're leeching the consumers, but that's marketing for you. I doubt we can really change how they strategies things other than them wanting do so themselve. But I do also think they reason the release several versions after WE9/PES5 is to test on new things to implement. I know the changes aren't much but then again that's why it's WE9: X(X as in whatever ame they give) But some new stuff to test in the releases after WE9/PES5 will at times decide whether they'll keep it in the next series or tweak it abit. While at the same time they earn money since there are people buying the games. Sort of killing two birds with one stone. But as long as the PC version have 1 version I'm happy with it. Atleast now I can play WE9 on the PS2 and PES5 online on PC.

Would be great if his 3D football game was as good as WE/PES...

I really don't care if they make 100 versions a year exclusively for the Asian market! If I lived there, I'd probably buy every enhanced version they released too.

The ironic thing about THIS thread is how much you bashed the game when it came out, how you up and down swore you would not make anymore patches, how much you LOVED FIFA 06, etc, etc.

Now, here you are, crying about Konami's indulgence in their home countries market share and how you are left out, as if Konami owes you something.

I'd bet any money Konami could come out with the very best game ever and the likes of you would STILL complain.

Give it a rest, Tristan. Go play your games and enjoy them for what they are - VIDEO GAMES!

No dude, you don't get irony at all. The fact you replied again just proves it. You're like somebody who watches a tv show that you hate and then complains about it. If you don't like what I write, why read it? Some people on here agree with me, others don't. If I hated somebody's postings on certain topics though I wouldn't read them!

If I hated PES5 I wouldn't play it but that seems to be too difficult for you to understand. Like I said, if you don't want to read criticisms of the game or Konami, don't read them - is that really too much rocket science for you?

Bud, this whole forum is pretty much the opposite of my opinion and I don't post in every one that counters my view. That's the difference. Every time I mention that Konami are less than perfect, there you are, posting in my threads. Do you see me post in every thread about how great the game is? Do I tell them or you to stop kissing Konami's ass? Nope, but the moment I open a thread there you are, telling me to shut up and when I tell you to quit telling me to shut up, you say it's your free speech right to try and destroy my free speech!!! Yeah, not ironic at all!

Free speech means both sides of the argument have a right to a voice but you appear in my threads telling me not to post my opinions yet like I said, the only time I post about yours is when yours consist of telling me to shut up - notice the difference? And don't tell me that's all I ever post, that's all you ever want to notice.

If Konami hadn't f***ed up, there would be zero excitement about Juce's new LOD mixer but the fact is, people are delighted that somebody has fixed a bug Konami left in when they'd already fixed the problem but couldn't be assed to share it with the market outside of Japan. On any other gaming forum, people would understand that's crappy customer service.

Let's make a deal. Don't open my threads or post in them because if negative feedback encourages any action from Konami it'll benefit everybody in the community. If pointing out the bugs in games is shouted down and Konami just browse forums and see everybody kissing their ass, things like not fixing the crowd bug in future releases will never change. Look how quick Konami were to deny the GameXone TV report that WE9 wasn't being released in North America when I posted that. They informed PESFan within 48 hours that it wasn't the case. As soon as some anger came to the service by pissed off customers they reacted quickly to it. You try to stamp out people demanding more from the game and Konami then you take away one of the ways which this game will get better. That's true in every business in the world so please quit telling me to post about things which are true, but you just don't like me talking about. Whether you can see it or not, I'm trying to get the best out of Konami for everyone, everywhere, not just the Asian market. At this point in time they think only a handful of people like myself give a crap about it so they'll react accordingly and do nothing.

I know this forum would be enraged if PES5 was released in October and then a superior version got released in North America the following month which they discovered actually existed before the European PES release but Konami just didn't bother updating the BETA that was leaked back in September (other than activate the online components). The truth is that this year, both Europe and North America (when we finally get it 6 months later) got a BETA. It didn't even have any kind of feature that the original WE9 release had with the Road to the World Cup feature 'Nippon Challenge'. Subsequent releases in Japan have it so obviously PES5 is actually just a BETA. They left the England .bin files in the AFS but didn't put them in the game FFS - how much proof do you need?

Do you remember Konami making a statement saying it will include a feature in the game that will please many European customers as the team will feature prominently in the World Cup? What happened? Nothing! The official Konami website for PES5 and for the North American WE9 release both say "new leagues" but there are no "new leagues" over what PES4/WE8 had. Some different teams in the misc. section, sure, but no new leagues. Again, Konami didn't finish the job or include what they promised! You might be able to understand it a little with the speed of the PES5 release after the original WE9 (despite the fact it's bad proofreading at a minimum) but do Konami really have an excuse to put it on the North American WE9 release that still has another 4 months until release?

Are they just using a crappy automatic language translator? They must be because it's either that or incompetence. You know what perfectionists the Japanese are and their "honor" system when they mess up. In Japan, if you make a mistake and do nothing about it, it indicates deliberate disrespect - ask anybody who has studied or lived/worked in Japan. They learn that pretty quickly, that other businesses you trade with take errors as disrespect because there is no excuse for errors in the first place if you respect your customer enough. To then not correct those errors is a serious slight and in Japan, businesses will stop trading with each other because of such things. I've got 3 friends who have worked in Japan from college for between 3-5 years and one is still there. Disrespect in Japan is never accidental if uncorrected.

Anyway, enjoy the game. I do, but I want better service from Konami.
