hey guys on saudi arabia did they also qualify in 2002. coz i can remember germany beating a team 8-0. was that suadi arabia too? if so they do deserve to be in the world cup i mean making it in 94 an 2002 and now 2006 they are getting better and better.

i wish macedonia could be in the world cup but that is like saying i want to be around to witness juves 100th scudetto. virtually impossible!! but goin for australia all the way!!

Even though Asia often do go into the WC with 2 teams that are the worst of comp (last on saudi and china), they still deserve to go. Asia is the biggest and most populate contenent. If the WC were to only have the be the way most people are saying it should be then we'd only south america and europe. Ever since China got into the world cup, the pople there love the psort more than eve before. I expect an imporvement for saudi arabia in the future and China. I think the way the WC is set up today is fair, almost one third of the conmebol makes it to the world cup and atleast 13 from europe make it then 4 from all the other contenents. I also think it's fair for australia, they have no competiton where they are, and they should play a team of some caliber to qualify, which is almost always Uruguay. But instead of a south american team, they should face off against an asian team to make it even more fair.

I agree, they should do it CONMEBOL vs CONCACAF and AFC vs OFC.

I think it should be CONCACAF v OFC, South America v Asia.

Because New Zealand (Aus is leaving OFC) is on par with the "2nd tier" teams in CONCACAF. (First tier being USA, Mexico and Costa Rica)

It's called the fvcking WORLD CUP so why not involve countries all over the world? :ewan:

Oqeanias chances are ridiculious..They should have one spot at least.

Than Europe should have more than 14. Considering Latin America is whining for more, why not the old continent? I'm pretty sure our 'brothers' in the amazons would agree with me. :rolleyes:

Are you sure? NZ looks way too weak to me. Come on, the Solomon Islands got better results than them. I'd say 3rd tier teams in CONCACAF.

I'm really glad Australia is leaving OFC. They need some serious competition in order to achieve evolution, and playing at AFC will be great for them cuz we'll have a better idea of what they can do. Besides, now it gets a little harder to know who will be the champion at OFC.

well SA has 9 of the 17 World Cups, so its the continent to be. Plus the top 3 usually make it to the second round. However I do agree that it IS the WORLD Cup. I like seeing teams from all over. Plus it keeps qualifiers more interesting. One big team is always left out of Europe which is fun.

I say increase the tourney to 64 teams!!

CONMEBOL- 5 spots
AFC/OFC- 4 Spots
CONCACAF- 3 Spots
CAF- 4 Spots

1 Spot from a Play-Off Group between 6 teams,
1 from each Confederation, played in neutral ground.
Ex.
UEFA 16th
Conmebol 6th
AFC/OFC- 5th and 6th
Concacaf- 4th
CAF- 5th.

no ways , africa has most countries in the world. heres my idea groups of eight but moved up to five teams in each group



18 - UEFA
3 - CONCACAF
6 - CONMEBOL
6 - AFC/OFC
7 - CAF

what are your guys ideas on having a five team group. more games = more excitement

Your last statement completely contradicted everything you said prior to it. You want things to be interesting and have a big team miss the WC yet having a 64 team field would almost completely ensure every semi decent team would qualify.
