This shows how useful these friendlies before the world cup, specially against teams that will not be playing it(which may rise the chances of injuries, since they have nothing to lose) kudos for Pekerman for choosing not to play anymore matches before the world cup.:o

Well it seems that Van Der Vaart will be in the world cup after all, it seems that the injured players are getting recovered fast.

I disagree actually. It is very important that the team learns to play with each other since they're from different clubs, and they also need to get game fitness. There's no other way to do this except for playing matches. Teams that aren't in the World Cup understand the scenario and they aren't going to be out to injure. They want to give the WC teams a challenge, but obviously make sure that there are no injuries, no team is going to go out to hurt. They just are trying to give the WC team a full speed challenge, which the WC teams need.

Yeah, if I was injured I would do whatever it takes to play in the World Cup. I'd play through pain and lie to the coaches that I felt fine. If I couldn't play at a high level, I wouldn't do that, but if I felt I could still play very well I would lie. No way I'm missing the World Cup.

So by you, Argentina for example, has been lazing around since the 15th, and i bet Colombia understood that, instead of trying to prove that they could have been in the world cup and so started to play harsh for that reason. Serious do you really think that some teams that didn't qualify to the world cup will do a "favor" to others?

I will laugh my ass off if Shevchenko or Voronin get injured tomorrow against Luxembourg(for the sake of the world cup hopefully such won't happen).:jambo:

Out first round. Can't see them beating Italy or the Czechs.

Yeah, Italy and Czech Republic are favourites in group E, but if Greece won the European Champs, USA and Ghana can qualify in the last 16. :)

Czechs have goals galore in them, the best goalie in the world and a quality midfield.

They will finish top.

Italy should finish second but it could be Euro 2004 all over again.

I just heard Oswaldo is on a plane back to Mexico as we speak, so he wont be there vs Iran at the very least, who knows about the rest of the games. Jesus Corona to take his place vs Iran.

RIP :(

Damn that's a shame. Hopefully Oswaldo can recover quickly. I bet last thing he's worried about right now is playing.

Rest in peace, Mr. Sanchez.

Today i heard, that Nesta and Gattuso for Italy, Delgado for Ecuador, Roque Santa Cruz for Paraguay and Bresciano for Australia would not be able to play the first match for their teams 'cuz of injuries, Bresciano got an infection in an ear or something like that.

There are very few teams that could use any of the 23 they called up for the first match, aren't there?
