Daniel David said:Eh...? Pirlo MoM; and Italy put in a refreshing display, considering their past few tournaments, promising indeed (I'm feeling trouble ahead at round of 16 *sigh*).
That penalty not given at least looked like a penalty; however Kuffour should be sent off at thattakle, even if Iaquinta dived; and even more because play had already stopped (thus the tackle was absolutely unnecessary...). Well, perhaps it would be bettter had he got the card :fool: .
ShiftyPowers said:That point was not that Iaquinta dived. He did not, he was brought down illegally and Kuffour should have been booked (It's hard to say give him a red since play was technically stopped). The point is that he faked an injury. Injuries are very serious, and when you fake one it makes people question every legitimate injury. I rolled my eyes today when Koller fell down and when Totti had his leg stepped on because I thought they were acting. And I'm sure because jerks like Iaquinta are so common, the medics who come on to the field take their job a little less serious. If 50% of the time you have to tend to a player he isn't hurt, you're going to doubt guys that are actually hurt.
