We'll see how he finishes out the season. He was such an important part of our 2008 team that won the Euro.

And props to Xavi for playing with the risk of injury. The reason I started this thread was that I was worried players would "reserve" themselves for the World Cup, and Xavi is doing the exact opposite. Very professional/loyal.

Has this actually been confirmed?

I know there was speculation they they would be held out, but I never heard any solid answer.

Benzema hasn't been too good this year and France still have Anelka and Henry for strikers, but losing Ribery out of the midfield is a huge blow. But, it gives Gourcuff a huge chance to shine.

Most reports say he's out for 10 days, but in an interview he said it didn't hurt that much and that he's hoping to make it to the Camp Nou. He's getting tested tomorrow, so we should know more then.
