No I think the console is good because of the revolutionary games, superb graphics, and a well run online feature. I couldn't care less if it was Microsoft or Sony, it's just a excellent console and the best one out there.

As for the "joke" you was implying I'm a fanboy to Microsoft when infact I have both computers and love them both, I took the "joke" in the way you set out to make it. but I happen to think XBOX is better and has more capabilities. PS2 has maxed out it's capabilities, so until PS3 comes out I don't see a game or reason to revert back to buying the same style of games I bought in 2001 for the PS2, except GT 4 of course .

Nearly every one who responded on this thread that has real experience with both consoles -- says, xbox has the edge.

Notice that, no one -- except davilton -- insulted anyone or even said anything real negative against PS2 -- just offered their opinions to the original question.

Anyway, to wait 3 or 2 or however many years for the next gen of consoles -- and pay top dollar at launch -- seems silly. For a measly $150, fun can be had today -- whether on PS2 or xbox

P.S. I'm typing this on my beautiful 15-inch Mac Powerbook G4 which interfaces nicely with my iPod. Take that, Gates.

avoid PS2 like the plague??? I didn't say that, so no tune change from me...I have both consoles and recommended everyone buy both if they have a money tree growing in the back yard. I mearly said my PS2 was gettin a lot of dust on it, because, besides WE, xbox games are way more fun to play.

No one has said that. Anyway I thought you meant don't buy a PS2 or XBOX and just wait for the next gen consoles, but now I see you mean't you are going to stick with your PS2 and wait instead of buying a XBOX, which is fair enough.

Don't worry about it, it was fun. As long as you're happy with whatever console, that's all that counts! I play:- 'Driver 3'; 'Smash Court Tennis 2 Pro Tournament'; and 'Athens 2004 at the moment'. I've even got a Gamecube...yeah I know, but some of the games are actually fun!

I've got a high-spec PC, so an X-Box would be ridiculous for me. Anyway, let's not go down that path again...

I dont think you can find a pc cost only £128 with good graphics etc. PS2 cost £138.

You would have to remove some bits from Xbox so it wont be like a pc, what the point.

Exactly. The logic don't make sense. Why get a much inferior PS2 if you have a PC?. If Davilton wants that argument as a excuse then there is no need to get a PS2 if you have a PC. Clearly just a XBOX hater

Here. I'm actually talking about the types of games available. The PS2 has many exclusive titles, which will never see the light of day on the PC.

Why would it be silly to get Xbox?

If it silly to get Xbox then it is silly to get PS2.

Xbox has enhanced GeForce 3, so what? what graphics ard does PS2 has. I bet it is not as good as Xbox one.

Ummmmm likewise, Fable?, BC?, Project Gotham?, Doom 3?, Halo 2?, Shenmue 2?, ring a bell perhaps?. Some of them games can't be released on a PS2 simply because it's not advanced enough, not because of licence reasons.
