Yeah.. I think that people seems to be forgeting(or just trying to ignore) this fact. I'm more than happy for the work that EA has done in this short timeframe. And for them to move from WC2002 level to this one within that given time is quite impressive to say the least. It makes me even happier to realize that EA has finally listen to their customer needs and for them to work on the right direction with the introduction of FIFA 2003 is really a good thing. Now they'll have a longer time period to make a better product base on our response of the new game. I know they can't get everyone satisfied, but now we know they're really trying to create a simulation football game for the gamers.:)

How big is YOUR penis?
I`m neutral, that means I like both FIFA and the Konami WE series ( I don`t like TIF ). Well playing these games for some years now, I`ve found something good and bad both on EA and Konami.

Konami got the better gameplay, it`s true, but FIFA won on league licenses and graphics plus you can edit things and download things to make the game even better, I personally really enjoy downloading Nickclubman`s gameplay patch ( they were superb !!! ). But Nick you gotta admit in terms of gameplay Konami really, really rocks and EA ( how do I say this ) well in FIFA 2002 they really suck BIG TIME !!!! Even FIFA 98 on PS got a lot better gameplay, thank God there`s you to fix it, without your patch I can never imagine playing FIFA 2002 again.

People who comments on FIFA 2003 aren`t really haters, they just want for EA to keep their promises. I don`t know anything about the gameplay, since I didn`t download it, but from what I read I`ve already found one thing that I think would be a flaw in the game. The thing is to execute a header you gotta tap two buttons, first to jump, second to head it, man how`s that ?

Now take a look at Konami`s gameplay, either to head, or to volley the ball, all you gotta do is tap the pass button, headers and volleys are depending on how high the ball is. If it`s in the air you`ll do a jumping header, If it`s in mid air you`ll do a volley, etc. See... very simple, only one simple button, but it allows you to do any moves you like depends on your thumb reflexes. And for the shooting, why the hell EA makes a gameplay in which we must tap the shoot button twice ??? On Konami`s the ball from air shooting system are almost the same with the passing system, all you gotta do is tapping the shoot button ONCE !!!! And the game will react depending on how high the ball is from the ground.

Be honest with me, aren`t you sick, everytime you tap the shoot button twice, it always ends up with a bycicle overhead kick ? Or everytime the players head the ball, they always do that while jumping ? I mean headers can also be done while you were running right ? Or in every corner kick you have it always end up on the strikers head ? AND YES FREE-KICKS !!!! Boy that was a total nightmare, shooting with the passing button

EA made some progress on their WC 2002 game, and I hope on FIFA 2003 ass well. So the point is we don`t hate EA, we just try to encourage them to get better and better. An excellent graphics is good, licenses also good, but gameplay is the core of everygame, and for now Konami has that key.

Fifa2003 looks great. I`ve played the Demo and as an old Fifa gamer i can say that EA has done a great job this year. I was about to lose hope of getting a good soccer game from EA because since RTWC98 they didn`t really seem to care about developing the game. This year looks different and i think EA wants to compensate thier hardcore fans like me for waiting all those years. The problem is, the graphics are all messed up on my RivaTNT2 card. I hope there will be a solution for this problem in the full version.

In WC 2002 you only press the button once and wether it's a header or a direct shot is depending on where the ball hits the player.

In FIFA 2003 this has become optimized, if press the shot button the player will (if he can and has space) shot on volley, maybe wait for one bounce. But you can also press the charged pass-button and the player will perform a header and not wait for the bounce and will reach the ball at a higher height.

YOU is not "you" as in "you who are sitting there or standing in front of me", but generally speaking. "You" as in "everyone".

I have read most of these posts in disbelief. Any real footy gamer will tell you that gameplay is the key factor. FIFA can have every league and club in the world, but when you play it, demo included, the lack of substance and believability renders it unplayable. Who cares if PES doesn't have the teams and leagues? Is that all you can cling to? Graphics? Flash? Who said that PES' graphics were crap? The animations are realistic and at least within the context of a real game. Think back to the past FIFA's and your team scoring a goal in the last minute, 4-0 down and the scorer does a flip and whatnot. That's shyte. I still notice that you can only score in certain ways. In PES its unlimited. Anything can happen. The gameplay feels natural. In FIFA it looks like like park football, some ape hoofing the ball 100 feet in the air. You're all just fooling yourselves because you know you will be had yet again when you splash the dough over and get home, forcing yourself to like it.:f***:

Hey...

I've got really nothing to lose when saying FIFA2003 has much to improve in order to catch up with WE6.

How could FIFA2003 have better or equal gameplay to WE6 when their AI totally sucks??!?? [I've got nothing to say if you say otherwise -.- ]

We're just pointing out honest opinions after having played both games.

Jeez... we who enjoy WE/PES do not have to be jealous with anything. Cuz we could play both whenever we want!!! And naturally we will stick with the one that has a lasting appeal.

To be honest if FIFA2003 did come out to be better than my WE6, I'd go for it anytime.
But so far having played the demo ever since it came out.. at times the demo was actually fun but really doesn't compare to the intensity and excitement you get from WE6.... why'd I have to lie about this????

But just from the demo [even using all those patches] only would a experienced WE/PES player would notice the subtle yet important and essential improvements EA still has to make.
[Player reactions, keeper animations and reactions, ball physics, ....its just the entire feel and way in which the models of WE/PES generate a better feel of Football]

We're not jealous or anything

in all sincerity, when the game comes out and i get it for ps2, i won't have much of a reason to come here anymore. which is just as well, because this isn't so much the "fifa 2003" forum but the "attention all pes'ers! invade and pillage this forum" forum. ive seen countless arguments between the konami wishippers and the fifa worshippers, and i realize that, as a general trend, its the konami people who refuse to acknowledge a preference between the 2 games as the difference between coke and pepsi. the konami worshippers insist "NO! its not the difference between coke and pepsi! its the difference between coke and sh*t". this is really seen among the fifa fans.

when was the last time you saw a fifa fan in the pes forum trying to preach to everyone why fifa is better? never.

when was the last time you saw a pes fan in the fifa forum tryng to preach to everyone why pes is better? EVERY OTHER F*CKING POST!

these people feel like they have something to prove, they won't believe that some people could actually enjoy fifa more than pes, its like it wont compute in their small brains that, yes, indeed, it is possible that some people actually enjoy fifa!

but even among those who do have the intellectual ability to comprehend that someone can enjoy a video game that they don't, they don't just shut up and be polie about it, they decide to be a dick about it!

for example, i'm a beatles fan. i KNOW that the beatles are a lot, lot, way infinitely better than, say, a crappy band like limp bizkit. HOWEVER, if i see that someone likes limp bizkit, a lot, you know what, i let them be. i don't say anything. i dont go to their forum and tell them "you dumbasses, bizkit sucks! beatles rule!". internally, i know that the beatles are infinitely better than limp bizkit, and thats enough for me, because im not an obsessive-compulsive beatles-worshipping freak who feels the need to convert the whole planet into a bunch of beatles fans!

on the other hand, take all these obsesseive-compulsive konami-worshipping freaks who spends their nights masturbating to pes2 pictures. they don't have the decency to shut up and let others be, even though they deeply feel konami is better. and they DO feel the need to come here and tell us were all a bunch of children who don't understand football.

hey, i'm all for free speech, i'm not saying they should be censored. but what i'm NOT for is being an immature dick, which is exhibited when these konami-worshippers come in here trying to pute a damper on everyone's fun. i mean, what kind of asshole thinks to himself, "ahh i see that those people are having fun. but i know theres something better out there so i guess i should try to minimize their fun". animals, man, animals....

My god this is a good reply! :rockman:

Maybe not PES freaks, but a lot of them do it to FIFA fans any way:

You know what I mean right: "If you like FIFA more then PES, you've never played PES and/or don't know anything about football".

This makes me laugh and I try and ignore it, but then the sheep start coming in the forums and say the same things.

Now I have played PES and say it is a VERY good game, but gameplay alone is NOT enough these days.

I mean like, COME ON!! Would you buy PES/2 if it had 2D graphics on your PS2?? WOULD YOU F*CK!! :f***: on your megadrive YEAH!

People come in here saying how great PES is, but they also say how gameplay is the most important thing. Well, IT IS, but I wouldn't buy it if it had 2D graphics, this is the next generation for crying out loud where graphics are starting to get JUST AS equal as the gameplay and most games nowa'days NEED them graphics to have the gameplay, so without the graphics, YOU CAN'T HAVE THE GAME!!

Now I did go through a patch hating FIFA, mostly because of the poor FIFA 2002 and NASTY WORLD CUP 2002 game, but EA have shown what they CAN do and in SUCH A SHORT TIME!! :rockman: For that, TOTAL RESPECT!! :rockman: :crazyboy:

well in to response to why PES users always come to preach maybe this is the reason... now i don't play PES becuse they don't sell it here in the U.S. but just listen...

i read these fifa posts and PES posts and u know what i see??

in the PES post people are always talking about how great the game is and all that ..they are always talking good

but on the FIFA posts.. u guys are always complaining about EA ..ALWAYS and don't deny it!!!! that is why u never see FIFA fans going to PES forum and praising it..am i wrong? i mean what are u going to go praise about? and i'm not talking about fifa2003 but about the older titles becuz u can't really say Fifa 2003 will be the best or its better than any other game cuz its not out yet.. so don't start comparing these 2 games that are yet to be released

as for FIFA 2003 well u guys can't complian cuz it hasn't come out yet and yes i won't say nothing bad about this years Fifa cuz it has not come out...

well thats what i think.. i don't really care cuz ito me these games don't determine my life..if some one doesn't liek a game i like then oh well what can i do? nothing..

as for Fifa i honestly hope it will be a good game even though i will not buy it..(which sux cuz the only reason is becuase no creation center on console) well hope i haven't offended anybody

Hi Nick,

First off I just want to state that I like both games, so I'm not in anyones corner here. While I do think that some members of this forum are besotted with PES to the point of being blind to any other possibility as far as football games go, I also think that they have every right to express misgivings about certain aspects of fifa, as does anyone else. After all this is a forum for descussion and debate amongst other things, not just a fan page. Just as long as people are making genuine observations about fifa as opposed to simply 'PES flagwaving' or making 'fifa is crap' type of comments without even expressing why they think so, then I for one have no problem with it. I don't think that FIFA is by any means the complete football game as of now, as the A.I for one is still miles behind that of the PES games. And yes, I can tell that even from the demo. On the other hand, PES can hardly claim to be a perfect representation of football as the players can only move in 16 directions. Also the lack of genuine teams, stadia etc. detracts the sense of total immersion. Now a hybrid of the two..well that would be a hell of a game, and who would be left to complain. A small step towards world peace :D

Good reply, I agree on some of the things that you said. But it is like so annoying now with PES fans thinking that nothing can touch their game, even EA.

FIFA is starting to breath down its kneck. :rockman:

My mate won't even play FIFA 2003, he says it's **** and he ain't even played it, that's how blind PES fans can get!! But he's STILL a mate and he has every right not to play the game, but saying it is sh*t is just HIS opinion, like everything I say!! ;) But if people agree with me, then that's nice, lol.

I can see why PES fans like their game so much. It is the gameplay and the fun of the game, no problem, I don't hate them for that, who could! But what I don't like is when people say I won't buy this game (when they haven't played it!!) and people who slag off EA for giving it their best shot in a 4 month time period, I just think people should think before they talk (or type!).

Anyway, the two games offer a different experience and I'll play PES/2 ANY DAY! But I will still be a FIFA fan. :rockman:

Nicely said. It annoys me a little as well when people bag a game without having played it. I think what has happened in the case of FIFA games is that people have been bullsh*tted to so many times in the past by EA that they dismiss any future offerings out of hand. The loss of faith is understandable up to a point I guess, but the logic is still lacking somewhat. Kinda like getting bitten by a dog and drawing the conclusion that all dogs are bad. Nevertheless I do believe that EA have made a sincere attempt to deliver on their promise this year which should go some way to erradicating the 'boy who cried wolf' integrity issue that surrounds them at present. :mrpimp:
