I got a couple of ideas I would like that you considered and commented on:

Updating the “Rules and Information” Thread
I’m going to make a new thread for this. The thread that is here today is very out of date, it hasn’t been updated since it was posted back in August 2003, and has now little or no function at all. The new one won’t be like the one we have now, but just some basic guidelines. Please post your ideas/comments on what you think should be in the new thread.

PL Statistics
What do you think of a thread that lists up all the winners from each prediction league? And where we make a statistic over who has won most prediction leagues, and what nation that has most winners (and runner-ups)? Like a statistic overview, but not too comprehensive, because that would take to much time, just a small statistic overview which we update continuously.

And since we are already into the subject. Is there anything you don’t like in here and would like to change? Improvements? If you have any other ideas, then post them here now.

Please give me some feedback on these, and post your comments and ideas.

That "Rules and Info" thread definitely needs to be updated. I'd say just post all the PL's that are going on this season and a short explanation of their rules or maybe just a link to the opening thread of that PL where the rules are explained.

As for the Statistics idea, I think that's great. I think we should just name the winners and not 2nd and 3rd place finishes because who really cares about them

. You should make like a list that would go like this:

Champions League PL Winners:
2002 -
2003 -
2004 -
2005 -

EPL Prediction League Winners:
2003 -
2004 -
2005 -

etc....and just add all the PL's that have been run here through the years. If you want I can help you look all those up, PM me.

Thanks, I'll let you know soon. I've already written down all the leagues that have been runned, but not the winners of the leagues.

And I agree about that it isn't necessary to have the runners-up. But how about a list with how many 1st, 2nd and 3rd places one got and a total score? Then we see who really is the best predicter here.
I mean something like this:

I was going to suggest an idea like this, but maybe extending to the Top 5 or Top 10. Then again, it does make a bit more sense to keep with the medal winners only, and with some PL's we don't even have 10 active predictors towards the end of the season!

Although that looks kind of cool when you first look at it, it wouldn't really show who the best predictor is because some people predict in everything while some prefer to only take part in 1 or 2 per season where they might do extremely well. Does that make sense?

Yes, it does make sense. I agree that it doesn't show who is the best one around, but it does show who is most active and do well. I also think something like this would have been nice to have in an overview like this. Maybe we should have it like that but without a total score? Or maybe with an average placement instead?

And in the new "rules" thread: Shall I post the rules for each league, like it is now? Or just post a link to the rules as Steaua said?

We could always have both. The first to show who is the best predictor out of all those who actively take part in many PL's, and the second to show who has predicted well, despite only taking part in a few PL's.

I think that's a very nice idea. *nods* All the winners of the several competitions of each year in a list.

A post with links to all the first threads of each Prediction League in which the rules are being explained by the person who runs it. So, a link's enough for me, you don't have to do more work if it's not necessary.

I have a question myself. Is it already known who will run a PL? And which one they'll do then? 'Cause otherwise I might be interested in doing one myself, the competition that didn't have it's own PL last season.

It's not that extra much work. But it looks better with just a link, so I think I'll go with that.

No, it's not already known. So you can start a prediction league if you want to. But if someone had a prediction league for that league last year it's still his (so you will have to ask him first to take over it then). But if no one had that league last year, you're (almost) free to go.

And about the statistics with how many 1st, 2nd and 3rd places one got. I would like more feedback/comments on how we should do that.

And another thing. Should the statistic thread be open or closed? It will be "cleaner" if it's closed. But please say what you think.

That is quite good! I think I will do it like that, unless the majority here doesn't like it. But I think that was a good idea. (Y)

Hm, but there will be a huge problem. There have been a total of 31 prediction leagues, which means we have 93 people to collect stats about!! That will take a lot of time. So, I need quite a lot of help to finish this, or else I won't manage to do it. Any volunteers?

But, also a list with 93 people is too large in my opinion. Maybe we should only have the top ten, and only collect stats for those who have one a PL (22 persons).

I doubt the total amount of people in the table will be that high. There are probably many predictors who have been in a top 3 on about 5 occassions, and even those among us who have managed 10 or more!

Okay, I've made a list where everyone that have a top 3 place in a PL is listed up (not sorted). So what I need help with is to find out how many leagues they have competed in. There are 40 persons.
