I'm just trying to put the point across that just because Zidane is/was a class player in some people's eyes he is excempt from criticism while Materazzi is getting slaughtered left, right and center. Zidane has a history of violent conduct and is certainly no saint as he is portrayed in France.
"Some people's eyes" as in the few, because Zidane is actually getting more criticism than Materazzi the majority of opinions.

I've just seen the interview on tv and one thing is for sure..Materazzi is a blatant liar telling the media that a mother is sacred and blablabla.....

True. According to the BBC, Materazzi added: "I am ignorant, I don't even know what an Islamic terrorist is; my only terrorist is her," he said pointing to his 10-month-old daughter.

I'm 100% with Zidane in this whole incident. If someone said something about my mother or my sister for that matter, I'd rip their head off and feed it to their relatives.

Oh and GinoFag, you seem to be the only one against Zidane through all of this. If you don't think he's "pure class" in his career because a dirty piece of sh*t like Materazzi provoked him into doing something terrible, then you can shove a glowstick up your ass and f*ck yourself.
I would've won the world cup then laughed in their faces. Much more effective.

Materazzi provoked Zidane into a reaction that he wanted. Materazzi won the battle.

what's the deal with zidane's mom? i hear she's in the hospital?

Yeah she went into the hospital on the day it happened so Zizou was already nervous and Materazzi triggered it the c*nt
I think he knew that his mom was in the hospital and hearing Zidane say on television that it was very bad what he was saying it could've been something like:"I hope your mom..... etc" but Zidane won't eleborate on that..

i doubt Materazzi would stoop THAT low. The guy does have SOME kind of conscience.

Are you pulling this out of your ass, or did you somehow magically look into Materazzi's mind and was able to read his every thought?

I've been reading this topic... and you are f@cking hilarious with your posts.
But this one tops them all. MUAHAHAHHAHA

Stripping him of the Golden Ball is completely fair, you can't give the player of the tournament to a guy that got sent off in the final fo headbutting a player. The vote was taken at half-time at the final, so it's fair.

No matter what Materazzi said, Zidane shouldn't have reacted as he did.

I for one believe Materazzi and his compassion towards Zidane after the whole incident.

Easier said than done. He is human and people do react to certain things, this was on of them.

So Zidane is telling fibs about Materazzi's insults, the lip readers should get jobs as linesmen and Zidane headbutted Materazzi because of the red of the Italian flag showing on the emblem? :lui:
Riiiiiiiiiiight.. :jap:

This has already been addressed. Nobody has been more inspirational to their team than Zizou has to Les Bleus, not even Fabio.

Well then i'm addressing it again goddamnit. Noone that headbutts a guy in the world cup final for ANY reason should be held up as the best player of the tournament and a representative of the tournament and the sport. Cannavaro was equally as inspiring for Italy as Zidane was for France, Zidane was crap for the first few games of the tournament, Cannavaro was consistantly immense throughout.

One incident doesn't negate his achievements. He was fantastic for his team and lead them all the way through to the finals, which deserves some merit; in his case the Golden Ball of the Tournament. Fabio stepped up when it mattered, but so did others like Zambrotta and especially Grosso. Again, Zidane provided more inspiration to his team, as someone said on this forum that "if Cannavaro received a red card, Italy wouldn't have lost as much morale as France did after Zidane's expulsion."

Even so Cannavaro getting the award due to a posterior arbitration would not have the same weight, even for Fabio himself - and that has nothing to do with how massively well he played. Regardless of what happens FIFA will be embarassed.

...but they would have a large chance of collapsing to France on the 2nd half of ET :) . I'd have voted for Zidane at half time of the Final; however Cannavaro winning would be as just as fair on foorballing grounds.

I can't believe people here are questioning Zidane's integrity and class as a player. After all, it's not like he wasn't provoked. Materazzi insulted his mother. Can you imagine? He insulted his mother! Can you blame him? I surely can't. There is nothing that Zidane does that can be considered wrong. He was completely justified in taking matters into his own hands and making sure that Italian f*ck got what he deserved! How dare you people say that what he did was wrong?! I expect every one of you would do the same! Imagine this, you're one of the best football players in the world playing in the final of the world cup and some player says something about your mother! Of course you're not going to take that! Nevermind the fact there's over a billion people watching! You have to hurt this guy! After all, you're one of the classiest players around! What else would a classy player do?? Headbutt the guy of course! He didn't even have to apologize today, he's too classy to have to apologize for what Materazzi did to him. I can't believe you people...I really can't.
