What is FIFA going to do about it? They'll just strip Zidane of the golden ball like Blatter is suggesting. Nothing that will have too much of any impact on either player. The biggest game that Materazzi may ever play is now history....what are they going to do..take away the red card from Zidane?...Never! People will just have ill feelings towards the Italian player for some time........

At the end of the article Blatter suggests that Zidane is innocent until proven guility. WTF is that crap, doesn't the video prove him guility. Why do we need an investigation? Words are exchanged between players all the time, but since the idiot Zidane decided to have a spell of roid rage Materazzi may be punished. Pure BS! If Ribery headbutted Materazzi no one would care to investigate and Ribery would be suspended for at least 2 years. I'm tired of Zidane, he doesn't even deserve the Golden Ball, Zidane was a great player but not the best at Germany 2006.

No appology to Materazzi. Apology for what he did and the bad example he set. He doesnt regret it though.

his apology shows the class of Zidane, he did not go too far into what Materazzi said in order to protect him in case it was something racist, he only said "very personal and concerned his mother and his sister".

I believe Zizou, let him keep the golden ball

On l'equipe it says that he said Materazzi said some harsh words on his mother and sister. So it's a he said she said type of thing since Materazzi said he said nothing about his mother.

Zidane is a goof, embarassed himself in front of the whole World. How clever of him to wait until the play moved up the field when the officials would not see him then turn around and crack Materazzi thinking no one would catch him, France would win and he would raise the World Cup. But Zidane was caught. I don't wanna hear any more about Zidane he's retired now and everyone will remember him for his cowardly act of violence. SOS racism can go F themselves. I wonder if they have turned any racists into non racists, highly doubt it.

Zidane has too much class when he talks to others to lie. Notice in Le Guardien(a French newspaper), they draw out what the conversation might have sounded like in Italian-French-English languages. Zidane never cursed at Materazzi once but Materazzi used some. Zidane protecting the harsh remarks of Materazzi demonstrates just how much respect he has of other people's reputation, defeating the 'super arrogance' comment by Materazzi.
