UEFA Champions League 2009-2010

The Legend
Since Wenger arrived, Arsenal have made a profit in the transfer market. Chelsea are being caught up in the league, and outplayed in Europe, by a selling club.

CSKA advanced as well, poor Sevilla.

so: England (2), Germany (1), France (1), Italy (1), Russia (1).

So Barca are again the only hope of Spain. Spain should really proud to Catalans.

The second half definitely was. Inter's opportunities were mostly from 1-2 guys on the counter attack, most of the team was behind the ball.

It wasn't exactly Catenaccio, I mean...

Palop blew it and our team had no idea how to respond. We have Champions League players and an amateur coach.

yeah it needs special ability to loose 0-2, 3-2 (in 30 minutes) and 1-1away advantage at home.

Bring Ramos back.

lol @ Madrid again.

Their 2 ex-guys, Robben and Sneijder, advanced while Ronaldo and Kaka' will be watching CL only on TV. (H)

Good moves for Robben and Snejider! lol

Buti, I hate to say it but Real fans might say the same thing about Ibra and Eto'o tommorow night.

but don't worry Barca will win 3-0.

Make America Great Again
It would be one of the best days of my life tomorrow if Barcelona lost. Bayern could then have a real chance at getting to the Semis or even the Finals.

Well, Nostradamus predicted in his The Prophecies book that the World will end when a Catalan club concede a defeat from a German side in 20 Century.

so this can be the case!!!!

Lol. I can believe that especially when it came to shock to me. After seeing the score on the bottom highlight around 11pm I was wtf against CSKA? booo!

So basically the GK Palop's blunder is one of the reason's. I can understand but he's a good player sometimes one bad game after a while isn't a big concern. But the coach? amateur yep I agree maybe Sevilla should get a manager with more experience.

I just said it will be easier to beat you guys (compared to last season). But I didn't say you'll be easy to beat. In fact I hope we don't have to meet you guys in the CL.

Yeah but if it is easier, why the hell we lost less matches than last season? :(.

i'm going to camp nou. 4-0 and road to bernabéu. :bob:

2-0 Barca at first half.

The little lizard is on fire, Barca took advantage of their opportunities very well.

btw, where's Ibra?

Really? didn't know that TBH. I'm too lazy to check the statistics as well. But Barca looks definitely less impressive than last season. I still think they're favourites to win the UCL but they're less impressive than last year.

The Von Trapps
so, 2nd Round is done ... couple of upsets, couple of awesome results ... the draw for the quarterfinals all the way through to the final in Madrid will be made on Friday ... who do you want your team (or adopted team, if your boys are out) to face in the quarters? what do you want your team's road to Madrid to look like?

here's my ideal scenario (posted in the Barcelona thread as well, but just as pertinent here):

Code:
Barcelona-Man Yoo
Bordeaux-Arse
Inter-CSKA
Lyon-Bayern

Barcelona-Bordeaux
Inter-Lyon

Barcelona-Inter
teams listed first are the ones I want to see win each contest ... I think there are some excellent match-ups there ... I really hope the fates conspire to make it happen ... the only change I would accept is swapping Barcelona and Inter, because I would be just as happy to see José, Samu, Wes, and the rest beat Man Yoo ...

post your ideal scenario / thoughts on others, and let the short discussion before Friday begin ...

I want:

Man Utd - CSKA
Bordeaux - Arse
Bayern - Barcelona (Bayern revenge)
Lyon - Inter

United Vs Bordeaux final.

TBH I think its gonna be Barca and Man Utd again. The exit of big teams like Chelsea, Madrid, Milan makes things look better. Who would've thought Bordeaux, CSKA and Lyon would've made it to the quarter finals?
