OH YES :33vff3o: :33vff3o: :33vff3o:

Well summed up by Az as usual.

Stamford Bridge felt very uncomfortable until Nico scored, and although that feeling diminished with every goal we scored, the ground only really began to relax when the 4th went in.

Wigan put up a fight, but once they were down to ten men (should have been down to 9 after Mario gave us a second penalty. Last man and all that), the writing was on the wall really.

It's been a crazy season, but a good one for us. We've played some great football along the way, broke a few more records, and ended the season as Champions.

- First team in Premier League history to score 100 goals in a season
The last English champions to hit a ton in a league season were Tottenham Hotspur, back in 1960-61, with 102 - one less than the Blues. Spurs' feat was also achieved in a 42-game season.

- First Italian coach to win Premier League
Carlo Ancelotti is the Blues' third Italian coach, following Gianluca Vialli and Claudio Ranieri. He is only the third manager to bring the title to Stamford Bridge, following Ted Drake and Jose Mourinho.

- Didier Drogba's best-ever goals tally
36 - his previous best was 33 under Jose Mourinho in 2006-07. Hit 29 in the Premier League alone.

- Frank Lampard's best-ever goals tally
27. The first time Lampard has hit 20 in the Premier League with 22 his final tally.

Thanx for the good wishes from all you guys, especially the United fans. We know how it feels and we know it ain't nice, so thanx.(Y)

I knew you guys were gonna win, and even thought 4-0 or 5-0...but 8-0, good grief. Guess you didn't want to leave any doubt.

Good season, congrats.

Props to Drogba and Lamps, it's not too often you see two players from the same team score over 20 goals in the league.

CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!

I'm am gonna now the hell out of a lot of people at college! Absolutley sensational display by Chelsea today, and this season has been brilliant. 103 goals with 4 quite substantial victories (7-2 v Sunderland, 7-1 v Villa, 7-0 v Stoke and today's 8-0 v Wigan). Sometimes this season it's looked hard for us, especially losing at the times we did lose, but slip-ups by United and Arsenal helped us. Truly brilliant from Chelsea this season and deserved champions!

BRING ON THE DOUBLE!!!

Congrats guys for this fully deserved title! You won all Big4 matches and that was the real strength test for Chelsea, and you showed you are the best team in EPL! Congratulations!

It's not as big a deal as you are making it out to be. Wigan were down to 10 men early. They had NOTHING to play for. Coming into the game, they were in the lower half of the EPL table, while Chelsea were at the top. Wigan were down to 10 men early. After they conceded the 3rd goal, they fell over like a pile of bricks.

EDIT: Oh, and one more thing......they were playing AT Stamford Bridge.

Yes, 8-0 is a nothing result.

Btw, if anyone is interested in our youth and reserves, EskWeston is a youtube channel that shows highlights of their matches, including the Youth Cup success. Give it a look.

With all due respect, if Everton were fighting for 4th place, in a must win game for them and playing at home in a game that meant nothing for their opponent(who was reduced to 10 men early), I could see them wining big as well.

Bottom line is you're Chelsea, with it all on the line in that MUST WIN game.....they're who again???

Cheap shot newbie.

8-0 against any Premiership team is usually regarded as a very good result you know. Sure we only beat Liverpool 2-0, but that's because we weren't at our best that day. :innocent_smile_1:

We've scored the most goals in the league this season, and Wigan have let the most goals in. Gives you an idea what Wigan were up against today mate.

Chelsea didn't choose Wigan to be their last opponants of the season. That was decided before the season kicked off. I don't really get your point.

I think he's suggesting that any top-half side with something to fight for would've gotten the same result.

Well I'd like to think they would too, but it doesn't always pan out that way. Especially with the way this season has gone for everyone.

This could have been a big upset in Wigan's (and United's) favour. It wasn't. Hence the joy of the Chelsea fans.

Get in there!! 8-0
My head is still buzzing. :)

What a brilliant way to cap off the season as Champions. 8-0 is as good as it can get. But to be fair to Wigan they also lost 9-1 to Spurs, so in a way their form away from home, along with their defense are woeful. With the way we've been playing at the Bridge, a rout was there on the cards.

But take nothing away from the lads tho, great showing from Lamps yet again. The Drogba incident in the 1st half was made a big deal out of, I thought when Lamps approached Drog after the penalty, he already accepted the circumstances, nevertheless what a response by him in the second half.

That over-head kick should've gone in, would've been one of the goals of the season but great determination to finish things off with the header in the end. For the 2nd season in a row, one of our strikers has won the Golden Boot, and they say Anelka and Drog can't play together. Pfft :D

Anelka looked sharp, and we really owed him for that early goal since it gave the team a breather and the ability play confidently. Great volley for his second goal. He plucked that out of nowhere.

The goals just kept coming in and it was nice to see Belletti for perhaps his final game with us. Joe Cole was energetic coming on, I really feel as if he looked like a player that wanted to prove a point to Carlo, with the way he was chasing the ball and going at Wigan's defence. I really do hope we keep him in the end.

Understandably, the club has offered Ballack a 1 year extension on his contract, but there are reports saying that he's angling a move back to Germany.
It'll be a bonus if he stays, as players like Matic(who came on today as a sub) could benefit and learn from a player of his stature.

Deco, Riccy, Juliano are probably leaving in the summer and our youth players will take their places.

Part 1 of the job is done, now for the second half of our quest for the double!!

C'MON CHELS!! (Y)
