Liverpool are fielding a similar team to the one that started against Madrid. So we're facing the best squad they can field, but it should be a tired squad.

Let's do this thing.

EDIT: It's tense, it's back-and-forth, and it's hell for me, but we're winning for one. Thanks to a calamity from Gerrard, but still. Pool have been dangerous, although the goal gave us the edge. Make no mistake though, this isn't against the run of play. We've carved out chances, and we've had the ball, but Pool haven't been easy to break down. We haven't put that much pressure on them either, waiting for spaces and counters. We know they'll get tired before we will, and if e can contain them for a little while longer, we can score a few goals. We're best when countering, too, so them attacking, so long as we keep tight, is not a bad thing. They're making a fair share of mistakes, trying to take our players on, which is silly, our weakest player is as strong as their strongest pretty much. We can knock them off the ball easily. Can't say they're throwing the match, because they've definitey tried. Kalou's early dive got the ref against him, with a penalty and a corner he deserved not given. Here's me hoping Drogba beats Rooney to top scorer.

REEDIT: Not 100% on that penalty now. It looked like Lucas bumped into him, then it looked like he caught his right foot. The spanish commentators are certain of a pen, but I think Kalou might've tripped. Not sure, and if you're not sure, it's not a penalty. Oh well.

REEDIT: 2-0, Lamps, and we've been well, well on top this half. We're exploiting the left flank, with Kalou having found Mascherano out and just speeding past him time and time again. I'm not content until we settle this with another goal, though. ManU made us suffer at Old Trafford.

sorry but your 1st half performance was so dire..didnt look like potential champs at all. Needed that gift to get you guys going.

Anyway hope you guys put 5 or 6 past pool now...destroy them.

Congratulations.

I could come here and whine about luck, refereeing decisions in key games and all the rest of that kind of stuff, but I come here today to say that you are Champions because you deserve to be. It wasn't so much the points United lost to you in the big games, but the fact that we failed to maintain the consistency required to finish on top of the league.

The fact is Manchester United were not as consistent as Chelsea over 38 games - it's a fact that hurts, but a fact nonetheless.

I hope that the issues that have cost us this season are resolved this summer (lack of firepower and creativity - and cover for Rooney) and then we can make a better attempt next season to get "our" trophy back. If those issues are not resolved then perhaps this is the last time United will be challenging for a while.

But enjoy it, enjoy the summer and celebrate - for you never know when it will be the last time.

I still hate Frank Lampard though! :innocent_smile_1:

We won, we were the better side, and that's the end of it. ManU are forced to win today and I'm not sure that they'll be able to. We still need to beat Wigan, let's not forget that.

18 from 18 against the rest of the old Top 4.

I'm worried about Cole leaving now. Please Roman, make him stay.

If we put 3 past Wigan, we become the highest scoring side of the Prem.

If United win the League, it will still only paper over the cracks - and I really can't see you dropping it now. Liverpool was the pivotal match, and we all know it.

We still have a chance if Wigan does a miracle for us :( I don't see it happen though. Its Chelsea's 99% for sure.

I'll say "congrats" only when it's mathematically confirmed its yours. I believe in miracles

Our youth side won the Youth Cup today with a 3-2 aggregate win over Aston Villa. A Bruma free-kick in the first match, Mitrovic tapped one in and Clifford piledrived one for a 2-1 win at the Bridge which gave us the cup. I'm thrilled, honestly. It's nice to see that we have good talent in the academy, making the final twice in 3 years. I wouldn't mind seeing a few youngsters given a chance if and when we settle the Wigan match.

The perfect match next week would be a 3-0 lead at half-time (with Joe Cole starting and earning himself a contract) to settle the title and make us the highest-scoring side in the Premiership history. Use the 3 subs to give time to some academy players, who then take it up to 5-0 for a 100-goal season. It's a lot to ask for, but we can do it.

Brilliant stuff from our youth team. Deserved youth cup champions, it's been a while since it last happened so this goes to show that our youth academy has been improving over the last few years(we reached the youth final in 2007 I think).

I can't wait to see how our youth players shape up next season.

Bruma had already made his debut this season.

Stoch will be back here next season, with Borini, Kakuta, Matic, Van Aanholt, Hutchinson all expected to step up next year according to Carlo.

Di Santo, Mancienne, Cork should continue their respective loans. I think we should try to loan out Di Santo to Italy or Spain, Blackburn obviously doesn't suit his style of play and he's not getting games there either.

All in all, hopefully the Youth Cup is the first of 3 trophies coming to our club this season. :)

Fili: Aliu Djalo had a solid game, played until the deep end of the game until he was subbed. He played mostly the role of enforcer, and he started the move for the goal. Had a couple of shots at goal as well.

Awesome! I know the kid since he was like 12/13, he went to my school and we used to play and stuff. And to put it simply, me and my mates weren't surprised in the slightest when we found out he was going to Chelsea at such a young age. We used to joke with him that we would buy his passport for 10€ and then sell him for millions, heh. I just hope he can develop properly and turn out to be world-class (Y)

For real? Sounds cool man. Maybe you can get free-tickets off him next time. :p

EDIT: btw, seemed like Kaby was carried off in the closing stages, seemed to have hurt his back. Shame he wasn't able to collect his medal along with his teammates.

Yep I'm still alive and kickin' Piz. Thanks for asking mate. I just don't get the chance to post so much these days. ("Thank you God, thank you," scream the SG faithful.):innocent_smile_1:

I did post after the 'pool game but somehow it aint here which is wierd. Anyway it was a rather long post and I can't be arsed to repeat it all again. ("Thank you God, thank you," scream the SG faithful once more.) :innocent_smile_1:

Suffice to say that that the game was well summed up by my fellow Blues right here. So glad to get the victory though. It was a nailbiter for me right up to the final whistle.

I dunno about anyone else but seasons like this do my anxiety disorder no good at all. We are ONE game from the title, a game that we need to WIN, and I have to admit that I am feelin pretty excited about that, but at the same time so bloody nervous that the last day of the seaon might go so horribly wrong.

Wigan at the Bridge? I'd like to think that the 3 points will be ours for the taking. Wigan are taking the game very seriously, and if Roberto Martinez has his way Wigan will be giving us a very difficult game.

Roberto is an ambitious coach. I like his style. He will see this game as a showpiece for his talents as a manager. He wants to move up in the game, and this will be a great opportunity for him to put himself in the shop window for the entire football world to see. His teams do not roll over.

While I'm being nervously negative, Jon Obi is out for the rest of the season after knee surgery. I also hear that Ballack might be on his way out this summer, and Deco is for sure returning to Brazil's domestic league. I don't have too much of a problem with that. Both have been dissapointing all in all.

Great news about the youth cup. Long time coming, but shows for sure how good our youth setup has become since Roman arrived. He has rebuilt from scratch, a youth system at Chelsea that ceased to exist for years after Bates had destroyed it, and it has taken only 5 years to win English football's most prized youth trophy.

That's one issue that cannot be used any longer by the media to slag us off. To be honest if anyone had been closely following the Academy over the last few years, they would have realised that all the negative crap written about it was just that.

Arnesen, and the coaches, and the players deserve this cup now, especially after coming so close over the last couple of seasons. This is justification at last. Great stuff.

So here's to Sunday. Three points will make Chelsea champions again, adding further to our history, (for all those that are impressed by such things), and hopefully allowing Chelsea (and Carlo), to emerge once and for all from Jose's, (bless him) huge shadow.

Here we go, Here we go, Here we go:33vff3o:

Last game of the season is here. 3 points is what we want, and we'll be champions again.

Doesn't matter what happens between Stoke and United. We are gonna win and that's it in the bag.

Damn, 30 minutes to get to the ground. See ya later fella's.

Cech, Iva, Alex, Terry, Cole, Ballack, Lamps, Malouda, Kalou, Anelka, Drogba.

Joe's on the bench, but the most important thing is for us to win, and win convincingly. I said it already, I want 5-0. I don't want to suffer, I want us settling this early.

Let's do this thing.

EDIT: ANELKA!!! GOAL!!!!

RE-EDIT: LAMPS! 2-0, penalty and a red to Wigan. ManU are ahead, too. Wigan have actually been on-top, not being dangerous but we are just catching them on the break and the red and goal need to be taken advantage of. Let's win like champions.

Re-EDIT: Far from our best match, we look content with the result, and it's a shame, because we could destroy them. Drogs doesn't look happy about not being allowed to take the pen, I sincerely hope he gets a goal in as soon as pay restarts because he's clearly preoccupied.

One more and we become the highest-scoring in the Prem, 3 more and we reach 100.

Re-EDIT: Anything ManU do, we can do better. 3-0, Kalou. History made.

Re-EDIT: 4-0! Anelka! Title is ours, one more Drogba goal please. Joe Cole on for Kalou, Belletti on for Iva. Please stay Cole.

Re-EDIT: DROGBA! 5-0!! This is the match I wanted, and it's what I got. Everyone wanted Drogs to score and he got it. An over-head kick nearly got it, but Pollit saved it, and Lamps crossed it and made it up to Drogs.

So, 5-0, with 25 minutes left what else can I ask for? Cole to earn his contract, and a youngster to come in and Matic to come in and have a good match. And, maybe, 3 goals for an 8-0. But I can live without it.

Re-EDIT: PENALTY! Drogba's gonna take it...

And he scores! 6-0, 101 league goals, 28 for Drogs! Rooney player of the year, my ass.

Re-EDIT: And Matic's on for Ballack! **** yes! Credit to Ballack, he's been good today, and I want him to stay, as well. If he's willing to halve his pay cut, I don't mind having him on for 2 years instead of 1. He's useful, damnit. Btw, Cork has scored for Burnley to tie their match with Spurs. What a day!

Re-EDIT: Drogba hat-trick! That's 4 times we've scored 7. 1 more to get our best result, 2 more to get the best league result of the year. One more Drogs goal for 30.

Cole and Matic have both looked fine. Cole's been good, Matic has done nothing wrong.

Re-EDIT: Cech's first intervention is to make a brilliant save from a thunderous drive from Moses. Brilliant match from everyone.

Re-EDIT: 8, 8, 8, 8! Cole wrestles on the line and crosses it for Ashley who lashes it in!

Look.

I don't know why I feel the need to write this in your thread, but Congratulations. As I said before, we can bitch and moan all we want about help from the FA, dodgy goals and stuff - but you're champions because we failed to score as many points as you.

So yeah, probably you deserve it. Am I happy about it? F*ck no.

As long as we can get our act together then hopefully we'll be that much better for this - and next May, maybe we'll be ahead on the final day. If I say stupid things sometimes it's because I get very passionate about United - and sometimes I say things in the heat of the moment.

So enjoy your celebrations - but keep looking over your shoulders next season - because hopefully the Empire will strike back.

thought I'd tune in for the trophy presentation ... but I didn't expect that scoreline ... silly of me, I suppose, because that's, what, the 3rd or 4th time you guys have notched 7 or more in a match this season? ridiculous ... (and I can't believe Eyal wanted a 5-0 thumping, and got so much more!)

congrats to Chelsea fans! better you guys than, well, you know ... happy for Carletto; he couldn't win a league title with Milan for 5 years, but takes the English title (and likely the double) on his first attempt, just like some Special guy did 5 years ago ... enjoy the moment fellas ...

Congrats guys on the title and other impressive records.

But we will reclaim our crown next year.

Btw, hopefully we will celebrate World Cup together.
