I'll bet anything that if we beat Pool, we'll have a bunch of people come in here saying they let us win.

Aguero has reportedly been quoted that he's interested in moving to Chelsea.

"Chelsea are a great club," He was quoted as saying in the Daily Express. "They have become one of the most feared in Europe over recent years.

"I look at players like Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard and they have been - and still are - the best players in their positions in the world. I could really learn from players like that, there is no doubt.

"London would be a really amazing city to live in as well, myself and my wife could be really happy there. Carlos Tevez is doing really well at Manchester City but, for me, it is about joining a club who are ready to challenge for honours. City are not ready yet.

"Inter are a great club, but it is agreed that over the last five years the Premier League has been the strongest.''

If he does come it'll be a massive addition to our attack. Its been getting a bit predictable with hoofing the ball up to Drog and Anelka cutting inside after drifting out wide, Aguero can bring something different to our attack and would add more pace to our attacking lineup. :)

Depending on who you believe we could have Iva, Cole and Essien all fit against Stoke. BBC says Essien will feature, Sky says he will miss the remainder of the season, and possibly the World Cup. I'm kinda hoping Sky's wrong.

Mikel's out for a match or two, which is bad. A half-fit Essien, if that, and no Mikel is a terrible scenario right now. Neither Ballack or Deco are good enough for me to be optimistic at Anfield with them playing that role. If Matic hasn't gotten his chance yet, he won't get it this season. I'm praying for Mikel and Essien to recover by next weekend. Just one of them fully fit would be grand, though.

Nope, Essien won't feature against Stoke.

http://twitter.com/stamfordthelion

But A.Cole and Iva are all fit and raring to go.
I thought Mikel might be missing given the way he hobbled off. But after re-assessing Ballack in his defensive midfield role the only problem he's got is lack of pace, but that won't be the type of threat that Stoke will pose against us.

Ballack has never complained after being dropped by Carlo, and for someone who supposedly has a big ego I find that quite surprising, he even covered at right back after JT was sent off. His performances from the sub against Villa and Utd weren't bad either.

It was his ball from the right that got us the consolation against Spurs, so even if we're left with Ballack in midfield it won't be too bad.

I've been following Twente for the last few matches in the Dutch League and Stoch is turning out to be a hell of a promising player, he's bulked up a lot and looks much better in decision making with the ball(which is something Kalou still lacks).

We'd be stupid not to recall him next season. Di Santo and Mancienne should extend their loan periods tho, they won't get any chances in midfield or attack with our squad.

IMO only our right midfield remains a problem, in Malouda we have an out and out winger but the we don't have much options on the right hand wing, that's where Stoch can complement him and Joey can play in behind Drogba/Anelka with Lamps and Essien behind.

I don't think we have any problematic area. We have players who have proved that they can play at the positions we need them to, it's a matter of them playing like they should, and looking to the future.

I really like Ballack, and his lack of pace isn't a problem since Mikel is probably the slowest guy in the squad and I rate him very highly as a DM. But Ballack is very mobile. He's not one to shine when playing as a reference in front of the defense. He plays his best footie when partnered with Mikel and to a lesser degree Mikel and when given the freedom to go where he pleases in midfield and keep the ball moving. That's why he's never at his best alongside Lamps.

He can definitely cover for Mikel more than adequately, but I'm just worried that it will make us play with no pause whatsoever, and we could get countered a lot, and with a recovering fullback and centreback in a makeshift defense, that's not what we need.

I'd give Mancienne another year at Wolves. Another year as a starter there, whether at midfield or defense would do him good. Di Santo has been on the bench every time I've looked at the lineups for a while now and he has other strikers in front of him on the pecking order even on the bench. I wouldn't mind seeing him stay next season if his preseason is promising, but I wouldn't object to him getting loaned out again. I just hope he goes to another Prem club again.

We definitely should start playing Stoch when he comes back, and I'd start giving either Cork or Matic a go. The other one should go on-loan.Hoping Bertrand goes to some Prem club on loan next season, too.

Interesting article regarding JT by Rebecca Lowe.

It was amazing being at White Hart Lane to see Tottenham beat Chelsea on Saturday because the tension was incredible. With about ten minutes to go, I always go from my seat watching the game and back to the interview room to prepare for my post-match interview. As I walked in, sitting in the corner, slumped, looking very sorry for himself and moist-eyed, was John Terry, with his boots off and legs out, looking thoroughly annoyed following his sending-off.

He was sitting in front of our screen to watch the remainder of the match. As soon as I walked in, he straightaway said to me: “Was it a sending off? What did they say in the studio?” He looked like a broken man, I have to say. He looked really dejected and he actually said to me that he hadn’t seen the replay of the first yellow, when he fouled Pavlyuchenko, but he had seen the second yellow for a foul on Gareth Bale and that that was fair enough. He didn’t look like a man angry with the referee, because sometimes he can be, but he was more angry with himself, and he did sit there and look like he had thrown away the title for his team-mates. But I don’t think that is the case at all.

Well, after all JT's been through I think how he managed to carry on unaffected prior to the Spurs game is quite an achievement in itself. Despite his off-field troubles, I think he's shown himself to be a great professional, Lamps(who's Bridgey's best friend) stuck by him and backed him, when the media sought out to destroy him(I still can't believe months after the scandal that the media has shown much hatred for a single player, well since Roy Keane, but this is on a completely different level).

Can't wait for the Stoke game, a win will settle the nerves all Chelsea fans are having after the Spurs game, we've got a good chance against Liverpool, we've done well against the Big 3 in England this season, racking up 5 wins out of 6.

Hey Pede, long time no see.

wow what a game vs Spurs. 3-1 in the end but the score line doesn't reflect the game. Either way pressure back on Chelsea. I'm hoping for a draw. Although after the loss to them earlier on in the season I think Chelsea will come out to get there revenge.

Well in the process, Spurs probably won't make it to the 4th spot they've been craving for, and it'll be funny if it was because of this lost against Utd.(Assuming both City and Spurs are deadlocked and get similar results).

We've already discussed that challenge in great length. Stop bringing up old stuff.

7-0, couldn't watch it, but the live feed made it sound like everyone had a great game. Kalou hatrick makes me take back everything I said about his finishing, Lamps got 2 to take him to 20 league goals, Sturridge apparently scored a good goal, Hutchinson and Cole put in a good game when they come in. Hope to see highights soon, because I can't wait to see the goals. Only thing that coud've been better was if Drogba had displaced Rooney as the top scorer. Still, no complains from a 7-0 which gives us the edge at GD and should be a huge confidence side for us against Pool, who are without Torres and will after their Europa league match.

Btw, I've read that Abramovic plans to keep curbing big spending, and 5 academy players will make the step up next season, in lieu of transfers: Borini, van Aanholt, Bruma, Matic and Gael Kakuta. Let's not forget about Sturridge and Hutch and our loanees Stoch, Mancienne, Di Santo, Cork, Bertrand, etc. I'm glad, really. I want us to trust our youngsters, and I think they can make it.

Read another article which talked about how underrated Lamps is. This season has not been his best at all and yet he's scored more than 20 goals and got nearly 20 assists I believe. It's just become customary for him to be excellent and few appreciate that. He has better stats than Fabregas, more assists than Rooney and Drogba combined and nearly as many goals. I think he's got better stats than Tevez, too. Those are the nominees for player of the year.

EDIT: Unfortunately, this weekend's results give Pool a chance at 4th, so they actually have something to fight for next week.

Another game where we put 7-0 past the opponent, seems like we want to get the goal difference thing out of the way and make Utd beat us fair on points if they were to pip us for the title.

Nice game from Kalou, Anelka once again was involved heavily, Ballack had a great game at DM, does his bit of simple short passing but great cross field balls to bring the full-backs into play. Nice to see Sturridge get the goal, what a finish by Lampsy for the 5th goal, quality stuff. Malouda was great as usual but missed an absolute sitter and almost fluffed another one. But good result nonetheless and great to see Ashley Cole back marauding forward, that's a definite bonus for us given that we've lost Essien for the season. Oh, and Paulo had a great game at RB putting dangerous crosses in, Drog was his usual monstrous self. All in all, great performance against a demoralized Stoke in the end. Let's hope they learn from this and play better against Utd. :D

Yeah, about Liverpool its a bit disappointing that they still got something to play for.

I'm not sure what the kick off times are, but hopefully Man City/Spurs can play first and obliterate their already slims hopes of getting the 4th place once and for all.

They're already without Torres and I'm sure their fans wouldn't like to see Utd(with Gary Neville) overtake their title count. ;)

They always had something to play for something that will perhaps hit there pride even more so then Europe. And that's finishing below Everton.

Another positive note you can take about the Liverpool game is that our opponents have a game midweek(29th I think), so if anything they'll be a bit jaded for our match on Sunday.

ade, that's funny because all I've heard Liverpool fans say is that if they haven't got a chance at fourth spot they might as well not let Utd overtake their title count. First time I've heard Everton come into play in all of this.

How many of Liverpool's players do you think really care about their rivalry with Everton or ManU? Most of them haven't been there long, and only a handful are English. Only Carragher and Gerrard are from Liverpool. The fans care about this more than the players, but it's the players who are going to be playing.

Also, Everton are 5 points off Liverpool. They face Stoke away and Portsmouth at home. Liverpool face us and Hull away. Hull will probably be relegated by then. Liverpool's GD is 18 the better off Everton's. A single point against Hull will ensure they finish higher. Although if Everton don't beat Stoke, Liverpool will go into the match knowing they'll finish higher.

Everton are a non-issue, although I'd be glad to see them finish above Poo and condemn them to no Europe.

EDIT: Forgot Hull's GD is so much worse than West Ham's, they're relegated.
