I don't know about the players but I do know about the fans. Most of them will be well informed about the rivalry and add to the possibility that Spurs/City results respectively can downsize the chances of Pool' finishing fourth, their fans will not be up for it as they are usually against us.

Anfield has always been known for the rapturous support and chanting of the Liverpool fans, if Pool have nothing to play for, it'll less intimidating and a better condition for our players to be in if the fans don't turn up to their usual standards, which in turn, could affect the morale of the Liverpool players on the pitch.

Nevertheless, I'm sure our players know what they have to do, which is to win, no less, and the Liverpool game coming as a decider for the title might as well be better than having to deal with the likes of Hull, or other teams that can come up as potential banana-skins. Complacency is the last thing our players needs and playing against a big club like Liverpool, I'm sure Carlo and the lads will be having none of that.

How many of Liverpool's players do you think really care about their rivalry with Everton or ManU? Most of them haven't been there long, and only a handful are English. Only Carragher and Gerrard are from Liverpool. The fans care about this more than the players, but it's the players who are going to be playing.

From the other side of Liverpool you mean.

Carragher was an ardent supporter of Everton in his childhood and his teens.

Both of them lol

ade, that's funny because all I've heard Liverpool fans say is that if they haven't got a chance at fourth spot they might as well not let Utd overtake their title count. First time I've heard Everton come into play in all of this.

O yeah lots of fans, pundits etc have been saying similar things. But I've not heard any of the players say anything. I cant imagine players of Liverpool's calibre throwing any game, there not Italian. Not to mention the Spanish waiter.

They have had enough losses this season I wouldn't imagine they would risk not only not qualify for Europe but finishing below Everton. And I'm talking about the players and staff not opinions of Liverpudlian Fanatics.

I could be wrong but a refuse to believe professionals of there calibre would partake in such things, even them.

All depends on Rafa's selection. They have a massive game that week on thurs against madrid. He might play his second string.

Liverpool won't roll over, and we won't be expecting them to either. This is definately NOT the time to be complacent as Frank has said today.

Their midweek fixture could work in our favour, but then again I thought Spurs were gonna be too knackered to give us a good game, and I couldn't have been more wrong.

The Spurs result and the game in general, was a harsh reminder to our boys that there's still work to do. Our perfect game against Stoke was a good sign that the message was recieved loud and clear by our players, and has sunk in.

Kalou hat trick, two from Frank ( his goal from open play was just incredible), one well taken goal from Danny, and one for Flo. Seven goals again, plus 90 odd minutes of beautiful and dominant football that was a pleasure to watch.

Really pleased with all the players. Great to have Ash back, and it was nice to see Hutch given some playing time by Carlo. The whole back four were exceptional with Alex and Iva having a solid assured game. Frank had a very good game, and Drogba was amazing in defence as well as in attack. His ball control before the first goal took my breath away. When Drog is on fire he is incredible to watch.

So, Liverpool next. More of the same is what we need for this one. 3 points and nothing less required. Liverpool might be short on major talent for one reason or another at the moment, but it would be stupid to take anything for granted. They will be giving it a proper go, there's no doubt about that.

Chelsea are not exactly their favourite team, and they will be out to beat us. We just need to take up where we left off yesterday and we will be fine.

Then of course, there's the referee. Anything could happen there, but I do hope it's not all about him.

Haha...awesome.

Drogba is such a badass. I hope he has a good WC but Ivory are in the group of death so it's going to be difficult. It's a shame to think that either Kaka, Ronaldo or Drogba aren't going past the group stage.

"According to soccernet sources".

That just says it right there.

The same "sources" that said Frank "agreed" would join Inter last season.

I would think Espn sources are more credible than most others out there. Guess will have to wait and see though

Nope, not since the last 2 years. If you read the articles/comments at Soccernet often you would say that they've shifted towards being more like tabloids in the way they quote their news and sources.

I'd tend to believe what ESPN says...they broke the Ronaldo to Madrid story as early as anyone last summer.

You guys are going to be scary with Drogba and Aguero.

The Ronaldo story was quite easy to break out because Real had a loud-mouth president back then. I know this because of the way he managed to sway Robben from us.

How will Aguero play? On the wing like Messi, or.... He won't be the center forward and he won't displace the fat one.

We've reverted to 4-3-3 for now. Aguero would place like Anelka, given the freedom to move around the final third and track back to help build up play. I'm glad that we're looking at young, good players, but spending 40m on a player who would find it hard to displace the current players is not something I can support.
