That's exactly what I'm saying. If the FAs are allowed to require replays on games for events that DO NOT violate any LOTG or any competition committee ruling, then its all over. You can have FAs deciding to replay matches for whatever reasons they see fit.. making up those reasons as they go along. Oops. I didn't like the rain in this game. It's replayed. Ooops. I thought this play was passively offside. Replay. Throwing the ball into the goal on an injury is unprofessional. Replay. You know what else is unprofessional? Running the score up to 5 or 6 goals and continuing to press the attack when the win is all but inevitable. Maybe those games should be replayed too? Or what about excessive goal celebrations? Should that be grounds for replay?

See where I'm going with this? If the FAs are allowed to automatically declare a replay based on arbitrary occurances that do not violate the LOTG, we are on a slippery slope that will end with every goal being video reviewed, every attack being video reviewed for offsides, and every referee miked up to be in direct contact with the FA. The day that happens is the day I'm out of the biz.

so blowing the whistle just as the ball crosses the line is right is it?!?

Whether its right or not is not the question. It's LEGAL. It's been done in footy past. Would I do it? No. But not because the ball is in an offensive position but because I am incapable of being exact. In some leagues, though, where they keep the clock by computer, Yes. The game MAY end with the ball right on the line. And that is right.

There is no unwritten rule/law. If time is up, time is up. Whether or not that gets you anymore assignments is a different story, but by the LOTG, you do nothing wrong, even if you stop it on the line. Law 5 gives the referee SOLE authority over the time.

They don't do it in CM, and they didn't request the game to be replayed in the example I gave. FAs don't do that. BUT: if they are asked nicely, by the winning team, if the game could be replayed, because of unfair proceedings leading to the win, why not consider it?

its common sense. if a ref blows the half/full time whistle just as the ball crosses the line then thats unfair to the team who rightfully should hav/did score. then maybe a replay of the game should be considered if that decision stood. iv NEVER seen a game where thats happened and if u can show me one, il eat my hat. and im not sayin just as the shot is taken. that could be understood, debatable, but could be understood. im talkin about the ball being physically 1mm away from the goal line. so its physically in the air travelling accross the goal line as the the ref blows for half time. and not allowing the goal.................

I believe there was a world cup game years back where this happened. It's happened in various league games. In one game that I observed, there was three minutes of stoppage. After about four minutes, completely in one team's PA or close to that, the CR decided enough was enough. He managed to blow the whistle just as the ball was entering the goal. That would have leveled the match. It did not.

Unfortunatly, sometimes, when time is up, time is up.

They don't have that right, as no rules were broken (your argument). They have to hope for some professionalism from the opposing side. Don't get me wrong, I do agree with you, but to allow the losing side to make such a claim, the rules have to be adapted. Do you see that happening? I don't.
