Dave Andreychuck can now put his name beside Ray Bourque. He waited 22 years and came so close a few times. He deserves it.(Y)

What a finish to the game, the flames played a great 3rd period. Great save by Kiprusoff with 3 mins left on Lecavalier. Hats off the to the flames, not one person thought they'd make it this far.

BTW, the leafs will never win the cup with Pat Quinn coaching, and the teachers' pension owning the team. It's an investment for them and they won't spend money because it would take away from any profit they make. Toronto needs an owner like Detroit has.

Congrats Tampa, last bit of NHL hockey we'll see until who knows when. :)

I'm glad Dave raised the cup and I hope he stays for one more season :p

After all those crappy seasons I can finally say TAMPA BAY WINS THE STANLEY CUP

First, my hat goes off to the Calgary Flames, for the heroic fight they put up in defeat. They may have lost, but they won a place in my heart. :)(Y)

This year's final will go down in history as one of the most memorable of the past 20-25 years. It won't be the greatest ever, but for 7 heart-pounding games, the Flames and the Lightning played their asses off in a display of what hockey should be. The Tampa Bay Lightning were worthy winners, unlike last year's winners, the New Jersey Devils, which specialized in the anti-hockey (neutral-zone trap and all that). I'm happy I saw this series, because with the dark clouds over the horizon, this could be the last game in the NHL for a very, very, long time.

Lastly, there was never a player that deserved the Conn Smythe more than Brad Richards. He was the difference in this playoff year for the Lightning.

This is a nice pictures of troops in Afghanistan wayching the game.

I can't see the wallpaper :(

Today was the victory parade at downtown Tampa. Here are some pics :)

I couldn't go to the parade because I was at college :( :f***:

PATHETIC.

Try 2 million on Broad Street.

Try 30,000 in Calgary for a team that didn't even win.

Also, 500 fans outside the Calgary airport at 3:45am to greet the team after losing the game.

Tampa fans suck. :kader: :kader:

He was right. There were 20,000 fans on the street. They later went into the Forum. I saw a part of the parade live and it was pretty sad.

Canada has better things to worry about like the world cup in August. Remember Salt lake in 2002? Wait, I'm crazy to think you knew hockey existed prior to Tampa's cup drive.

I saw the highlights of the parade and the forum was opened before the parade started so I guess there were more than 20,000 people.
But if the low number of fans in the parade makes you feel better, then lets leave the number at 20,000

btw the Lightning had a good number of awards at the NHL awards gala:

Hart Trophy
(Most valuable player)

Martin St. Louis, Lightning.

Lester B. Pearson Award (Top
regular-season player voted by peers)

Martin St. Louis, Lightning.

Art Ross Trophy
(Top point-scorer in regular season)

Martin St. Louis, Lightning.

Carlos Adams Award (Top coach)

John Tortorella, Lightning.
even Brad had one more award :rockman: :

Lady Byng Trophy (Sportsmanship)

Brad Richards, Lightning.

Say whatever you want... you were the one pissed off 'cause a souther team won the cup, and i know a little more about hockey than you may think off, its only that is not my favorite sport.

I don't care if a team from Florida won the cup. Calgary was in the final so logically I wanted to see a team from Canada win it.

You don't know squat about hockey so don't even try to tell me your knowledgeable in the game. Play the game all your life or atleast follow your team when they were at the bottom of the standings and then tell me you know something.

Oh yeah, want some proof?
