I would like to thank the football team at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University for denying us our rightful place in a second-rate bowl game. See y'all in Boise!

Just for the record, I was being semi-sarcastic. But still, I already know that we're gonna drop that far down the bowl pecking order. The Mafia of 11 disregards the rules, and do whatever they damn well please, even when it comes to something as innocuous as bowl bids. We clearly deserve at least a Champs Sports bid, but I wouldn't be surprised if they pick a 6-6 team ahead of us. WE'RE CONFERENCE RUNNERS-UP FOR F*CKS SAKE!

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to light some furniture on fire, just like the West Virginia fans that will be doing the same after their expected ass-whooping of Pittsburgh later tonight.

Unless it is accompanied by an Oklahoma win, it won;t account to much at all. And a 3 point lead isn;t promising against a #2....besides, it could have been bigger. They've run right over WVU, but just haven;t closed the deal.

As bar as BC goes, it the conference was stronger(and you able to beat beatable teams) you wouldn;t be having to even think of the words Champs Sports.

Hmmm...another missed opportunity...it;s not too often you see 130 yards rushing and only a 6 point lead this late.

Update: Crucial possession upcoming for Panthers with 3:21 to go in the game. TO WVU....to kill any momentum.
#2: 3:00 and ball on WVU for possession that will most likely decide the game.

If West Virginia wins this, it will be completely unearned. The refs were a disgrace here at the end, and have handed illegitimate opportunity after illegitimate opportunity to the Mountaineers.

EDIT: Pat White is making a Willis Reed level comeback in this game though. Dislocated thumb on his throwing hand.

The refs are so being paid by the BCS. Great game, though. So much pressure and intensity.

And Oklahomo just scored again. Crazy, crazy ass season.

Edit: Another ridiculous penalty. Geez.

Alright, that should be that. And Oklahoma has killed off Mizzouri (wanted to see them lose but gotta feel just a bit sorry for Chase Daniel), so prepare for BCS bedlam....

EDIT: penalty. Time out WVU(their last one???)....OR am I going to have to eat my words....it;s now down to ball protection.
EDIT #2: Here come the Tigers......

All it takes is for one of the top 2 to win, to save the BCS' ass.

Alright WVU out, focus shifts to Dr. Pepper Big 12 Champioship game. Good night.

even after the bcs championship......who is to say that the winner will be named the champ? i know it is in the contract and everything but if the game is ****ty or really close compared to say one of the other bcs games where a team blows the **** out of another team, then who knows.....

i dont think there will ever be a playoff if they don't change that **** after this season

Don't the divisions below have a playoff system? I mean.....err... just lost my train of thought. I'll try to recover it later on. In the mean time, how about I just pad my post count? I've never been one to abort or delete a potential post, man. I gotsta reach the 10k milestone, yo.

I'm loving this....when Michigan is out of the running, I look forward to this.

Give them a week off and then begin hosting some exhibition games...weak Bowl games like Motor City, etc.. However in a playoff system, traditional matchups in the Bowls will be lost forever and the major obstacle there will be the Rose Bowl. Pasadena officials made a huge deal about their first non Big-10 - PAC-10 matchup (in 2001) in years and whine everytime they've lost out since. If they did go to this system they would make more money than they would ever dream of, but (with scheduling conflicts due to NFL playoff games) the season would end towards the end of January, which is far too long for Athletic Directors.

As far as this year goes, toss up between LSU and Oklahoma...very tough to pick them apart but Conference strength would probably help the Tigers.

Get ready for a split national championship.

Quick predictions before they reveal all the BCS Games. They just showed Hawaii in the Sugar, but I think everyone knew than anyway.

Title: Ohio State vs. LSU
Orange: West Virginia vs. Virginia Tech
Sugar: Hawaii vs. Georgia
Rose: USC vs. Illinois
Fiesta: Oklahoma vs. Arizona State

I think the Rose Bowl should pick Georgia because it would be a better game than Illinois. I think the Fiesta will prefer the local team ahead of an all Big 12 affair with OU vs. KU. I'll probably get everything except ASU in the Fiesta. If Rose picks Georgia, Sugar would probably take Kansas (and them vs. Hawaii would be cool).

ShiftyPowers

Wow, the Fiesta gets Oklahoma vs. West Virginia? I thought the Big East was tied into the Orange? (EDIT: Nope. Would have been good to know that, hahaha)

Orange Bowl is Virginia Tech vs. Kansas. BOOOOOORRRRRRRRINGGGGGG

Sugar is Hawaii vs. Georgia

Therefore LSU vs. OSU for the title.

Rose Bowl: Illinois vs. USC
Sugar Bowl: Hawaii vs. Georgia
Fiesta Bowl: Oklahoma vs. West Virginia
Orange Bowl: Virginia Tech vs. Kansas

BCS Championship Game: LSU vs. Ohio State

The Rose Bowl is gonna be unfair with the way USC has been playing. I'm really excited to see Hawaii and that awesome offense against one of the best SEC teams, this feels like an upset. Based on what I saw last night Oklahoma is much better than WV but the way this college season has went I think that could go to either one, wouldn't surprise me to see a really close game coming down to a FG. The Orange Bowl? yawn...

Some other great bowl games:

Capital One Bowl: Michigan vs. Florida
Cotton Bowl: Missouri vs. Arkansas
Chick-fil-a Bowl: Clemson vs. Auburn

And believe it or not I'm actually contemplating getting some tickets for the Meineke Car Care Bowl which has UConn vs. Wake lined up. That's by far the best mach-up they've had in the short history of the game.

I'm looking forward to bowl season but playoffs would be SO much better.

PS: OSU will again have been sitting for a solid month and change when they kick-off against LSU, wouldn't surprise me if they get the same treatment they got from Florida in last years game, everyone knows the SEC is miles better than the Big 10.

Wisconsin playing on January 1 again. And to be honest, I thought the Capital One Bowl was pretty trashy last year, they had a really crappy stadium. On the other hand, the Outback Bowl is played at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, which is by far a better city than Orlando. I think the Outback is a much better Bowl in terms of everything except the TV Deal, and the match up. Plus, it's not a fun New Year's Day to watch your team get dicked by Tim Tebow. Have fun Michigan.

I'm definitely looking forward to the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl. I guess the National Championship is okay, I just can't stomach the thought that a mediocre Ohio State is in it. It seemed pretty inevitable, though.

I guess the Alamo Bowl seems intriguing although I would've really considered getting tickets if Texas would have made it to that instead of the Holiday Bowl. A&M and Penn State seems decent enough. Maybe I'll see if I go. The Holiday Bowl really looks like a great match up, Texas vs. Arizona St., seems like a great game. Especially considering the past Holiday Bowls Texas was in.

AAAAAhhhhh aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaahhhh
Michigan draws Florida.....noooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's just awful. YIKES! It's going to be a blowout for the Tim Tebows.

Georgia is going to suck the life right out of Hawaii...this will be nothing like the Fiesta Bowl from last year
USC_Illinois....everyone says USC is playing well and this will be lopsided...JDB was pretty paltry yesterday so this may be close if Illinois doesn't come out slow....will still be an uninteresting game though.
Orange-boring, this game usually draws some of the most boring teams avaliable.....a bowl for the aged 2 years ago, I think, was a snorefest.
LSU-Ohio State---> defensive struggle...

Fiesta Bowl- has the potential to be the best
Holiday Bowl- should be great with two pretty evenly matched teams

eDIT: cOMPUTERs had Virginia Tech FIRST. That's too funny!!!!! And overall Hokies ahead of the Sooners???
