I have to agree with some of you, blowing those f*cking trumpets for the full 90 minutes is so annoying and unnecessary. It's almost like the fans went there to blow the trumpets and dance rather than watch the match and cheer for whatever side they're supporting. Maybe it's the cultural difference or something like that but I didn't sense that the fans were really into the match.
Great game by Rossi. I hope Lippi starts considering him in the starting lineup for future games..

He should stop playing him immediately so he can return to the USA by the age of 27 and play next to Jozy. Just like Jermaine Jones :33vff3o:

When will Italy stop being spoon-fed these sort of opportunities? I mean obviously the answer is never, but at least share the wealth a bit you know? **** 'em and **** Rossi, that c*nt ass motherf*cker can die.

Yes, only Italy gets the benefit of the doubt. Italy has never had a refereeing decision go against them, never.

And wishing Rossi death? Seriously, relax, it's just the Confederation's Cup.

Even the Spanish press feel betrayed lol !
I've highlighted the quote of the article.
Despite the Spanish national team's sensational exploits over the last year, the press in Spain apparently still hold some sort of grudge against Italy.

Today they heavily criticised the Azzurri's performance last night against the USA in the Confederations Cup, in which they came back from one goal down to win 3-1, in part thanks to a numerical advantage. US-born striker Giuseppe Rossi scored a brace, which led the Spanish press to brand him a "traitor", and the "latest Italian trick".

"They played badly, they didn't deserve it but they won," wrote AS. "Their performance was as pallid as their official new shirts."

It was also stated that Italy won because of "other virtues" and played "the other football".

The Spanish sports daily did praise Rossi's performance stating, "Thanks to him, Italy played with 13 men.

"Rossi was born in New Jersey from Italian parents. He lived there for 14 years and he's now 22.As a kid he played baseball, so he's more American than anything else."

EDIT: Those Italy kits were cool so I don't see why they are being trashed by these guys.

HA! I can't wait when, 5 years from now, if there's a match between Italy-Spain that has Balotelli in the starting lineup. The Spanish press would have a field day with Balotelli's parents being from Ghana.

Really, what the hell did Rossi and/or Italy do to deserve that kind attack from that Spanish outlet?

Those Italy kits are throwbacks to ones we used to wear back in ancient times. I like them too. They'll be used only for this tourney though.

I dont have a problem with Rossi playing for Italy, I just have a problem with Italy, they have been caught cheating before in Serie A and I dont trust them. Here is a bit of advice for FIFA if you want to tap into the multi billion dollar U.S. sports market. In America we dont throw players out of the game in the playoffs or any big game, a ref has to know that you need to be more liberal but cautious if you have to establish control because the game is getting physical. I just couldnt imagine Lebron or Tom Brady getting thrown out of the game in the first quarter of the playoffs, very stupid. The ref all look like little H*m* F**s and I would love to drag them around by the back of my Ford Expedition.

You are refering to Calciopoli /Farsapoli and no, the whole of Italy did not "cheat" only five teams where implicated in it and all were punished for it (Some
harder than others).

The whole aim of FIFA is not just to market their sport, remember the 2006 World Cup Final. A red card offense must always be punished no matter who it is.

Yes exactly, we seem to agree fully on this point.

Italy makes such a huge deal out of every mildly questionable call. They literally look like their husband just asked for a divorce even if a legitimate call goes against them. I swear I saw tears from numerous players on multiple occasions in 2002. I think refs just don't want to deal with the biggest whiners on the planet, and just succumb to whatever they want.

Only five, 1 is too many, its insane that that many teams were cheating to win. How many teams are in Serie A, 20, that means 25% of the league was cheating. Thats crazy

A little Bird whispered into my ear and gave me a hint that Adu is playing against Brazil :) This will make me so happy. He made Argentina and Spain look stupid last top competition he faced.

I would have cried too in 2002. That whole tournament was a travesty.

The BIGGEST, wow! How did you figure? Did you use a ruler to measure?
