ajax is the best team in holland, the players they presented to world football is amazing. they have so many young talents, i totally admire the way they focuse on the youth.

also sivok is an amazing signing, such a signing i would expect from ajax.

Well I read this today:

Van Marwijk: 'Ajax kampioen'


Bert van Marwijk denkt dat Ajax kampioen wordt. De trainer van Borussia Dortmund, die zaterdag de Amsterdammers nog met 2-1 versloeg, zegt dit in Het Parool.

De oud-trainer van Feyenoord is te spreken over de aankopen van Ajax. "Ajax heeft goed ingekocht. Er is meer ervaring bijgekomen. Zo zijn Stam en Perez versterkingen en ook Gabri is een hele goede speler", aldus de Limburger.

"Feyenoord en PSV hebben hun selectie deze zomer niet zo gebracht als Ajax", gaat de coach verder. "Ik denk daarom dat Ajax kampioen wordt."

Translation:
Bert van Marwijk (Coach Borussia Dortmund) thinks that we will take the championship this season.
He says that Ajax bought good players, there is more experience in the team with Stam and Perez and Gabri is a great player.
Feyen.. and PSV did not do so well on the transferfront and teamstrength.
"That's why I think that Ajax will be champions"

There is a whole season to be played yet so let's not sound the trumpets too soon shall we but I agree with the team. We bought some fantastic players and I have faith in the progress of the team.

First serious test tonight against Internazionale, Ten Cate will spread the entire team over two games. He wants them all to have playingtime because he wants to have our strongest team on the pitch against Kopenhagen on wednesday
Tomorrow against Manchester United and I will be there, I'm going to the Inter-game as well tonight

Hopefully we are ready for FC Kopenhagen and the game vs PSV next week!

Well I had a great night at de Arena tonight
We played 1-1 against Inter but we dominated almost the whole game especially in the 2nd half. The passing was great, technical great players on the pitch and a beauty of a goal from Wesley from 20 meters or smth
Stam is our rock that's for sure what an impressive defender to see him in action live. He is big and strong and it's real hard to get passed him, the Inter attackers had difficulties enough with that but Vermaelen is in a great form as well and did some beautiful defending!

Ogararu played as a right back player the whold game and he did outstanding This guy can really move and turn defense into attack in the blink of an eye amazing His passes are pinpoint sharp and his technique...well let's just say he kept 3 Inter players busy but they couldn't take the ball from him.
He seems a great replacement for Trabelsi that's for sure.
Klaas Jan was invisible today but he hardly received any good passes too.
Manucharyan replaced him in the 2nd half.
In the first half we played with de Mul and Perez on the wings and in the 2nd half with Markus and Mauro. Well the 2nd half was better. Rosenberg played fantastic football on the left side (as usual) and Rosales is better than de Mul that's obvious but I already knew that.
I just watched an interview with HTC after the match and he prefers the team that was on the pitch in the 2nd half so I think he will start with Markus, Mauro and Hedwiges tomorrow against ManU.

Well I will be going again tomorrow against Manchester United. Hopefully we play as good as in the 2nd half today.

We are in 2nd place.

O and btw AZ lost with 3-0 against Arsenal and van Persie scored a goal too

Nice new thread, hopefully it will bring more success than last years thread.

Anyway not so good pre-season friendly's for us, but well as Stam said it's better that it happens now than mid-season and besides PSV have also always had a bad pre-season run before winning things, so not worried yet. Just would like them to win a bit.

Just watched an interview on Dutch Sportsnews TV with HTC. He says that Ajax is ready for Copenhagen today and Sneijder said the same. He said:"we will be 110% concentrated and I have every confidence in the outcome of the game, the grass is not great it's hard and not at all good but we will give it our all"
The team will most likely look like this:

Roger has an injury otherwise I think Sneijder would be flanked by both Spanish players
Vertonghen is the surprise of the preseason that's why HTC gave him rest and he's not in Denmark, Mitea is still out of the game.
Personally I like Perez as a player very much but my choice would be Rosenberg since he knows the Scandinavian football well since he played in Sweden from the beginning and Perez played most in our country.
Heitinga is doing well at the moment but I was quite impressed by Ogararu in the preseason games, either Heitinga will play and George will come in as a sub or vice versa. I think HTC will pick John as his first choice.
I say 2-0 for us (Huntelaar and Rosales)
Maybe 2-1 (Gronkjaer) but we will win and in two weeks in the Arena we will win again and I will be there

One of the most important games of the season starts tonight.

We played a bad game tonight but the result is great.
Winning an awaygame with 1-2 is a good result and now we can finish them off here in Amsterdam in two weeks
KLAAS JAN HUNTELAARRRRR did it again, both goals, two chances two goals was all he needed to bring the Danes on their knees.
Good move on HTC part to bring in Babel in the 2nd half and Rosenberg but especially Babel was fantastic, they had no answer when he had the ball
Heitinga was not good, I hoped that Ten Cate would've played with Ogararu in his selection. I think he will play in the homegame.
We're very close to playing in the CL again and it would be a 'bloody shame' if we had lost the game today and if we're not progressing to the groupstages.

Yesterday against Copenhagen I saw Gravesen watching the game in the crowd and today I read that Ajax is interested in buying him from Real Madrid?
He is 'persona non grata' in Madrid since he picked a fight with Robinho, I don't mind getting him for our team but he better behaves or he can find another club IMO. We have Roger and Gabri for MF but Gravesen is a very experienced Midfielder and he could be an asset for the team. What do you guys think?

It would be really big reinforcement for Ajax. You need player who has so much experience like him. Also he can be good replacement for Galasek ( does he still play?). I know that you bought or got Gabri for free or whatever but rivalry will not harm anybody.

I wouldn't mind Gravesen coming to Amsterdam. I mean the man is a bloody commander in the center of the park and he provides the leadership and toughness that is so important for every team. Stam and Gravesen straight down the middle, two bald guys too lol.

I don't think his "attitude" would be much of a problem. He was fine at Everton where he was having a good career. It's just that he sat on the bench at Real for almost 2 seasons and he is frustrated, and who knows what his teammates say to him there, so a little problem there isn't much of a concern for me.

It looks like psv is in luck, Huntelaar is suspended for sundays game I think Rosenberg will be our striker now for that game and we still have Charisteas as a backup so that should be enough for at least one goal and Sneijder, Rosales, Babel, Gabri, Perez can all score goals as well but Klaas Jan will be missed nevertheless.

It seems that Spurs want Vermaelen but they can forget about it since he plays a crucial part in this team says HTC. No way in HELL we'll sell him now and besides he just re-signed till 2010. And if Ajax agrees then not for the 4 million pound fee that Spurs are offering now, add 10 mill and we'll talk but I'm sure he won't be sold. Find someone Else Jol, Vermaelen is not for sale

We miss Gomes, Culina and most probably Ooijer. Think of it this way, this JCS is an excellent match to get rid of suspensions, so those dont count in league games that are actually important.
