Religion is like alcohol.

It makes you feel like the greatest in the world, and makes you feel like you are always right and is used as a reason to justify our actions.

Interesting observation .... :lui:

Pure unadulterated Godly worship causes no harm. People are just to blind to see but I guess you can't blame 'em... we are living in Satan's world. It doesn't cause violence, hate, evil, segregation, racism, all the bad things you see in this world. It's those stupid people who by their OWN thinking, twist and manipulate the truth. That's why many people are distanced from God today. Many believe he doesn't even exist and many also blame him for anything bad that happens because all of this violence and hatred that stems from all of these religions. In the beginning there wasn't "religion." Religion is what man has created. In the beginning there was only the pure worship of God, that's it. But over time people came up with their own ideologies and philosophies.. It's kind of like that game we all played in grade school, Telephone. You start with one message and you pass the message on down the line of people and at the end, the message is going to be way different from what the message originally was. It's exactly what we see today. Do you know how many different sects of churches there are? If a priest doesn't like this thing about a church, he'll leave and make his own church based on what HIS beliefs are. Today we have churches for homosexual people. These religous leaders claim they have the spirit of God, but they truly don't. "Hey it's the 21st century so God must approve of being gay right?" I see them holding their Bibles in their hands, but I truly wonder if they've actually read it from the front cover to the back. These priests think they are in some elevated position appointed by God and they look down on people and people actually fall for it. People worship these priests like they're gods themselves! The Bible diliberately condemns these kind of things. It's so ironic. And it's sick watching the churches being turned into businesses. What's more disappointing is watching people actually give in and give up their money. It's not just the churches, all the religions in the world today are so corrupt, there's no true spiritual backing from God whatsoever. Islam too. I can list facts about how Muhammad was a fraud but I won't. What we see in the Middle East today is a prime example of what I'm talking about. There's the moderate Islamist and the radical Islamist. One promotes peace, one promotes terror. The Quran just promotes itself and the people who worship it. And people claim it to be prophetic like the Bible but that's hardly the truth. For example, a Quranic "prophecy" that has not come to be is that Islam will be "victorious over every other religion". Muslims can account for some 11 per cent of the world's population, whereas Hindus claim 12 per cent, so-called Christians 30 per cent, etc. Islam established the "holy war", Jihad, in obedience to the command: "Fight therefore against them until ... the only worship be that of God." (Sura 2:189, rodwell) Even then, Islam hasn't really triumphed and certainly hasn't been victorious over all other religions. If you think about it do you think God would try to promote a small group of people and wage war on everyone else? We live in a huge universe, and we little humans are living on this small piece of rock. Do you really think God would approve of "religion"? I swear, the world is full of grown-up kids. MY GOD IS BETTER THAN YOUR GOD. It's ridiculous. Or even better, people think there are actually all these gods in existence and try to make sense of one another. My god is this, your god is that... cool. That's how imperfect we humans are. Man can't rule over man... "Man has dominated man to his injury." (Ecclesiastes 8:9) President Bush is a terrorist. All of the leaders around the world, only in it for the fame and the money. Empty promises, lies, deceit. "You are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end is not yet." (Matt. 24:6) "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom." Following this "there will be great earthquakes, and in one place after another pestilences and food shortages." (Luke 21:10, 11) "In the last days . . . men will be lovers of themselves, . . . disobedient to parents, . . . without self-control, fierce, without love of goodness, . . . lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God, . . . wicked men and impostors will advance from bad to worse."-2 Tim. 3:1-5, 13. It's all coming true.

I've read it, and it sounds like something u'd compose on a toilet-seat.

So Philosophical, gives the impression of truth and validity.

And ur stirring athiest compassion in the post, so that garantees 90% of the forum members will automatically agree with its context without even reading it.

Plus, using Modern Christianity fallacies to explain Islam, to people who don't know sh*t about Islam. Of course an amazingly invalid explanation. But it will also gain acceptance among most of the readers here, and your views will be automatically supported.

Of course the comparison between the Modern Bible (or bibleS) and The Qur'an is ridiculous.

Buttom-line:

Basically, this paragraph will look so deep to an atheist, with headline knowledge of Islam, and a general feeling towards religion, based on the behavior of priests and churches in the West... i.e. 90% of the forum members.

But that's just me.

man, Ive got to memorize this...

frankly I think you are a ******* idiot if you think it has to do more with muslims not being able to handle cartoons or people talking bad about Islam. People have been cursing at Islam and Muhammed since sept. 11, and you have not seen protests like these before. It is the fact that these drawings were not meant to get a point across, but simply bad mouth islam, there was no "wrong" opinion or veiw on Islam here, just plain disrespect. It also has to do with double standards. If you draw something like this about jews, in europe, you go to jail, Why? because it causes racial, religious and ethnic tensions and hate. What has happened here? all of the above, the same laws that apply to anti-sem. drawings or veiws that are clearly hateful and dont contribute any type of point of veiw should apply to Islam and all other cultures and religion.

It goes without saying that it was a stupid thing for the newspaper to do

even if they didn;t realise the offence which could be caused prior to printing, then issuing a quicker apology could have saved everyone a lot of effort.

I am a christian, I live in a christian country, and yes I can see why people would get offended by this type of thing

Every genuine Muslim that I know of, or have been in touch with has been jst about as appalled by the recation as by the original printing of the material

This is not a racial or religious battle, it is a battl;e of the civislised world against extremists

It makes me angry when people think that muslim = terrorist

just in the same way as many people think that

christian = prude
rastsfarian = drugie

in reality we all know that these are not true.

Ahmed, you have my sympathy, and I do completly understand why you would have been offended by the publication of such images

why canlt people just let everyone else get on with what they want to, and show some respect for other people's beliefs, how hard is that in reality?

As Rob pointed out it's absolutely hilarious and a giant ode to hipocricy that you boycott all danish products because one paper published some drawings, yet you quickly jump on someone's back when they generalize suicide bombers with other muslims.

well said.

The Red Devil
Britons are sick and tired of moaning Muslims. That is the shock finding of a Sunday Times-YouGov opinion poll which canvassed more than 1,600 people.

The poll shows that 86% of people think the protests held in London by Muslims angry about the publication of cartoons which featured Mohammed were “a gross overreaction”. By 56% to 29% respondents said it was right to publish the cartoons in Denmark and republish them elsewhere.

Earlier this month Muslim protesters in Britain carried placards urging violence and death against those who insult Islam, and celebrating last year’s July 7 London bombings. Asked about those protests, 58% said it made them angry and 76% said the police should have arrested those carrying offensive or provocative banners.

Politically correct

The establishment politicians are seen to be out of touch with the voters and both police and politicians are criticised for not confronting Islamic extremism, with 80% of respondents saying the authorities show too much tolerance of Muslims who urge extreme acts. Two-thirds, 67%, think this is because senior policemen such as Sir Ian Blair, the Metropolitan police commissioner, are too “politically correct”.

Where foreigners stir up racial and religious hatred, 81% of people think they should be sent back to their own countries, even if to do so would endanger their lives.

According to another poll published last week, 7% of Britain's 1.6 Million Muslims - more than 100,000 people- believe suicide bombings in the UK could be justified in certain circumstances. These are not exceptional findings. According to a YouGov poll taken last year, 24% of British Muslims expressed some sympathy with the motives of the London bombers. Most disturbingly, 32% agreed that : Western society is decadent and immoral and Muslims should seek to bring it to an end."

How establishment politicians of the Old Gang Lib-Lab-Con parties are going to narrow the gulf between the demands of the voters and their own politically correct agendas remains to be seen.
