Trezeguet targets Gunners move
Juventus striker David Trezeguet wants to team up with fellow French forward Thierry Henry at Arsenal.

The 27-year-old Trezeguet and his France team-mate Henry have discussed the possibility of playing their club football together.

Trezeguet admits he relishes the prospect and is convinced he will get his wish.

'It would be nice for me to play in England,' Trezeguet told The Sun. 'Why not? I have a perfect understanding with Henry.

'Sometimes when we talk, we would love to play together in club football. I'm sure it will happen one day.'

I seriously think tat we should go after Micheal Ballack, the mans a powerhouse- he is dominant in the air and he can shoot from the edge of the box he would be ideal for the premiership imo we need a central midfielder who will get in the box but still prvide us with a powerful centre

Trezeguet denies Arsenal desire
Friday 22 April, 2005
Juventus striker David Trezeguet has dismissed reports that he wants to join Arsenal.

The player was yesterday quoted as saying that he would be keen on a Highbury transfer.

But the former Monaco man insists he has no plans to play alongside French colleague Thierry Henry in the Premiership.

"With regard to my declarations which appeared in The Sun newspaper and then reported by the Italian media, I deny that I spoke to the newspaper," he said.

"Therefore, I did not state that I wanted to go and play for Arsenal. I am at Juventus and I want to remain with the Bianconeri."

Although the forward has today ‘committed’ his future to the Stadio Delle Alpi outfit, whispers continue to suggest that a summer exit is likely.

Juventus are apparently ready to sell the 27-year-old who has rarely played this season because of injury.

Barcelona, the club he almost joined last summer, remain a possible destination even if Arsenal and Valencia could also be keen.

That was beyond this year.

It's would be good when he does retire because our youngsters will then get thier chances, and thier progress will no longer continue to be hindered.

Wenger has said: "Dennis is part of the club, but he is 36 in May and will play less and less because of his age."

So I say that this was his last proper season as a 'full' first team player, because from that statement it's clear Wenger will either look to replace him with a new/reserve player. He still offers us alot in some games, just not the big games anymore unfortunately.

I personally would like to see him retire at the end of next season and then have his testamonial as the last game at Highbury or the first game at the new stadium.

That'd be awesome.

Arsenal XI vs Ajax XI
