Arsenal plot Valencia raid

http://skysports.planetfootball.com...&CLID=&lid=3&title=Arsenal+plot+Valencia+raid

Premiership champions Arsenal are set to undergo talks with Valencia this week over a proposed move for Miguel Angel Angulo.

The 27-year-old is reportedly a long-term target for Arsene Wenger and has recently rejected a fresh contract offer from the Spanish champions.

Angulo's contract expires in 2005 and boss Claudio Ranieri is ready to cash in on the player now before he becomes eligible for a Bosman move.

Arsenal are reportedly ready to pay €4 million for the player but Valencia are holding out for nearer €9 million.

David Dein is thought to be meeting Valencia counterpart Jaime Orti on Friday, after the Super Cup Final, in a bid to thrash out a deal.

Angulo rejected a contract extension after Valencia insisted that any new deal would be on reduced terms.

I dont think we need another striker specially the way dennis is playing. I say wait until July and pick him up for free

Arsenal make €4m bid for Valencia's Angulo.

http://www.marca.com/edicion/notici...,525961,00.html Marca-(spanish)

They made a formal offer on Wednesday. Valencia plays friday the European Super Cup final against Porto in Mónaco. If he plays a single minute in that match he wouldn't be eligible for the Champions with another team.

Looks like Valencia is happy with the offer since he is in the final year of contract and they didn't reach an agreement with the player for a renewal.

He's an attacking midfielder/forward. I dont know why Arsenal needs another one

I think some of you misread my question.

I asked if he DOES cap for us, will he be the youngest player ever to play in the CL?

to play, i wouldnt bet on it. but to score probably he would be

regarding angulo, we wont sign, i guarantee it. we hav van persie in that position and could play pires/ljungberg/pennant/reyes in that position also. dont count on it

I don't see why you'd say that. Wenger has come out and stated his interest in the player.

Maybe not this season but next, perhaps?

sh.it i did not know he spoke out

but why the he.ll should we get him? our offensive unit imo is the best in the world. we dont need wingers/forwards, which is where this guy plays

edit: not only that, but bentley will be returning for next year and a place on the team

In Wenger we trust. :p

Edit: In case some of you are wondering if Bentley is playing against us tomorrow, he's not.

http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?article=222497

New Premier League rules stipulate no loanee can play against their mother club, hence Bentley's omission tomorrow, but Wenger has been impressed with what he has seen of the England Under-21 international in the Canaries' decent start to the season.

Does anyone else get annoyed when u see Henry jus standing there doing nothing?

I know he is an amazing player but he could be even better if he out it in for 90 mins
