He was our best player in 2005 (Jan-Dec), then fell into a slump. The fact that he didn't make Argentina's WC squad wasn't a confidecne boost either.

Hargreaves is our first choice dm, there's no doubt about that.

Hargreaves is very versatile so he is an important player, as for podolski, i think the kid should start all games and play as a centre forward and let makaay do the scoring. Van Bommel will do well at this club, you can tell that he will fit in nicely as time goes on.

thats not too bad compared to makaay's age, in a year or 2, santa cruz will be in his prime, but that wont happen automatically. he has to be more consistent

Santa Cruz should have been sold at LEAST two years ago. And what the hell, is Pizarro injured? Because if Pizzaro and Podolski have been benched for ******* Maakay and Santa Cruz I might have to fly to Munich and slap some sense into our idiot coach.

Pizarro is not injured, Magath is just not playing him. Last Wednesday he did start for his country and played the 90 minutes, made an assist also. He's fit but Magath can't bench his boy Santa Cruz. :rolleyes:

If Bayern still had Guerrero, I'll put him over Santa Cruz.

Is weird that Cavenaghi is not in their lineup. And its good that ukranian Kalinichenko will not be playing this match because a suspension.

Im anxious to see how the Pizarro/Podolski frontline works out....both work very hard up top. Hopefully, Pizarro regains his scoring touch with this game and confidence by starting in this one. I was also hoping that Makaay would start, but I guess I'm happy with this line-up.

Cavenaghi is not even the team's topscorer. He scored only 5 goals in the league after 19 playdays, and no goals in the CL qualification.
And Kalinichenko is not a starter. Most of his matches he starts as a sub.
