Andreas Ottl scored. It was a poor game by all accounts, Bayern just did barely enough, but they still have a solid chance to take the cup with Schalke, Bremen and Moenchengladbach all out. The Hertha vs Stuttgarter Kickers game was abandoned before the end because the linesman was attacked from the stands.

i think bayern needs to give Karimi a real chance

According to this article quoting the Sport Bild, Bayern have decided to let Karimi go. The reasons are that he's not motivated enough at training and that he doesn't want to learn the German language. Judging by his form at the world cup I'd say that this is the right decision, but to be fair to him the fact that he's had very little game time at Bayern hasn't really done much for him either.

Demichelis had an outstanding match. He will play that position until Lucio gets his sh*t together.

Schweinsteiger was bad today also.

In a counterattack of Bayern , there were 4 players against one defender of Kaiserslautern, still he sent the ball directly to the goalkeeper

Nah, although he's right footed, he's never played well on the right flank. He's more effective on the left from where he can launch his shots.

Schweini has been our best midfielder this season. His future is in the center of the pitch, not as a side midfielder.

Feck, Poldi will be out for three weeks. Stefan Maierhofer, the Austrian striker from the amateur team, has been promoted to the first team squad. He's been on fire this year.

Luka Modric, the 21 year old playmaker of the Croatian nt, is apparently available for just €4,5M. Magath flew to Croatia to see him play against England and he was impressed by him. He's a similar player to Scholl and younger than Bastürk.

He's doing a solid job, but once Hargreaves returns he will have to warm the bench again. That position is just too important, you need an experienced player that can lead the others and stop the playmaker of the opponent. Hargreaves was our best player until his injury, we need his presence. I think Owen and van Bommel will complement each other better.

- Makaay was all over the pitch today, probably one of his best games in a Bayern jersey
- Pizarro showed how much of a team player he is when he took the pen although Makaay is our penalty taker and never misses one. Both were arguing all game long over that decision. Pizza can't just take a pen whenever he feels like it.
