Actually, does "Derby" mean a match of 2 teams from one city?
Sometimes we said Real Madrid - Barca as the Spain Derby, so does "Derby" mean some important matches?? i only know that the word derby was from horse racing.

for me, United - City and Inter - Milan are very good derby.

Yes, a derby is a match between 2 teams of the same city or region.
A Barça-Real, or a Juventus-Milan is called a "classic".

I cant believe no one has mentioned the biggest Championship Derby in the World (Together 8 Copa Libertadores and an incredible 6 Interconmtinental/World Club Championships)
Nacional vs. Penarol (Montevideo, Uruguay)

Its pretty much top 5 (if not top 3 of all America <north +south>)

I compare it alot to the Glaswgow derby (cause of the 2 similarly small nations and leagues)......except that instead of being famous cause of hate....they're famous world wide cause of the titles they won.


No 2 teams on Earth compare to Nacional and Penarol in Titles (In Uruguay its pretty much seen as "as big as it gets" with the game always being billed as the clash of the ultimate world champs (wether true or not.......This is easily top 10 on earth)

United Vs City is a rubbish derby it doesnt mean anything anymore City get excited about it but United don't its just an excuse for the sick city twats to call us Munichs
