Brazilian Ronaldo...

Ronaldo could have easily been one of the best players in the world ever. Only the injury stopped him from being the greatest. Ronaldo is a legend. He is not as good as he used to be. He is to be remembered.

RESPECT!!!

BTW what's up with all those names like The Real Ronaldo or Brazilian Ronaldo or something like that, just say Nazaro Ronaldo or something, Cristiano Ronaldo's last name is not even Ronaldo. We should just go as the shirt says, Ronaldo and C.Ronaldo or Cristiano.
Well if you want to get technical about it, let's call Man Utd's #7 Cristiano dos Santos Aveiro, and Madrid's #9 Luiz Nazario de Lima.

(And yes i had to look up Cristiano's name :) )

Well I think you cant really blame his Madrid form. I do think its poor form in his standards, but also Madrid midfielders arent doing much to help. Thats why I think Raul hasnt been scoring. If you look at Ronaldo last year, he played the same way but he still scored awesome gols, and was much heavier than now.

If you look at his Brasil record you'll see his realistic standard: 9 gols in 11 WCQs. And thats IN South America, not asia or concacaf (with all due respect). I cant see him not scoring as well internationally with Dinho and Kaka hooking him up. And When he partners with Robinho (his biggest fan) they'll be great motivation!!

He's still the best stricker in the world in my opinion, just in the worst form. Id say about 5th is a good place for him- but consider that that is him in his worst form of his career! Take that in consideration, and if he wins the WC in 2006 I think it'll be safe to say that he will be in contention for the permanent spot for 3rd greatest player of all time.

Way to be a knobhead fh_29(Y) Why the hell is everyone trying to bash ronnifan9 for his opinion that Henry is the world's best striker? Back to the original thread, it's a shame Ronaldo was cut down by an injury in his prime. He came back strong, but he just wasn't the same much like Del Piero. He's not overrated just out of form. Don't forget; form is temporary but class is permanent.

Ronaldo is a World Champion. He scores in the world cup.

If you are about to play the most important match (world cup final, for example) and you have to choose one striker...my chice is RONALDO.

And im from argentina, i always say that brazilians are (most of them) overrated, and have behind them a lot of marketing...

But if Ronaldo is in the pitch you know the score is never closed...

I think Ronnie is one of the few strikers that have tehnique too [ Zlatan type :P ]
Even though he is full of chocolate bars and burgers :D, he can still score goals. He isn`t in his greates period, and his evolutions at Real M. don`t compare with the ones from Inter, but he is still a player to respect.
I wish him the best. :ewan:

I don't know how Real let him get away with being so overweight. He trains 5 days a week and plays at least 1 match a week, to me it seems impossible to remain overweight when you do that much excersize...
He's certainly not the player he was.

i know a very experienced physiotherapist in football medicine (look at where i live and you might know who am i talking about) and he told me once that he thinks that ronaldos overweight comes from the large doses of cortisone that he takes to be able to play football at all

Well, his form for the NT hasnt been all that bad, i mean, he's the top scorer of the qualifiers or something pretty close to that. Has nearly 10 goals i think. Anyway, playing bad or not, when he turns it on, he's the best. He's not playing up to his best simply because he lacks motivation and because he's had enough of Luxemburgo. The same stuff that happened at Inter will happen at Madrid, Ronaldo picks up a fight with the coach and then leaves the club.

He needs fresh air, a new start. Then he'll be a demon. Plus at the World Cup, he's the one i would start ahead of anyone on our NT, because he has the experience, and at the WC he's the one that shows up every god damn time to save our ass.

The Madrid physio said that R9 was 8 kilos overweight that was due to his off the pitch commitments and contracts....parties where he has to go and eat
