Brazilian Ronaldo...

YELLOW CARD - Sarcasm
Ronaldo is one of the best of all time, Definetly. People who are saying he is over-rated are wrong. He will be looked back upon as a player nearly as great as Pele. One of Brazil's best forwards ever.

As for Thierry Henry, I would say he is possibly the best striker in the world... but only at club level. You put him the European or International stage, the times where it really matters and he flanders. All the best players in world perform consistantly and then even better on the big stage.

I think Ronaldo had his time, and its still a very good produtive player but he's not "lights-out" good anymore

I think Adriano will shine during thr '06 WC and take that spot

Help?

Yeah, i think Adriano is the player every team would want to have right now and he is the most likely player of the tournament for the World Cup 2006

Henry overated?

The guy won the golden shoe last year and is leading it again this year with 22 goals, personally I think he was robbed of european player of the year. Unmbeaten record with Arsenal and top goalscorer.

Henry is the best striker in the World right now, no doubt in my mind.

On topic with ronlado, he has lost a bit of his touch, but can still dazzle. I think he would have been better off in Italy than in Spain. To me I'd put him in the top 20 of the best strikers in the world.

The problem with Henry is that he never shows up when he needs to. Eg. France, Cl etc. For me, Shevchenko is the best striker in the world.

Henry is the king of conquering small teams. The rest is just not there. And until he will show up, he will never be the best striker in the world. Shevchenko at least carried his team single-handedly to the semis of the CL, a team that was full of basically unknown players. He actually plays well for his country and he is the top striker of one of the most elite teams in the world right now, while Henry is none of that.

Along with the influences of my father and older brother, he's the reason why I follow soccer so religiously nowadays. I mean, look at his time with PSV, the one season with Barca, the first year he arrived in the Serie A were he made a mockery of the league's defenses....that was the greatest display of skill and sheer dominance from the striker position in my opinion. It's atrociously unfair to make comparisons with the Ronaldo of today, a soon to be cripple from years of recurring sprains, ruptures and muscle tears to the current crop of worldclass footballers, man. People need to stop doing that and should accept the fact that he'll never, no matter where he goes or how hard he tries, recover his form of yesteryears and just simply appreciate what he still has to offer (which is a lot) even though he's only a third of the footballer he once was.

No. Henry is only the best striker in the EPL.

Ronaldo pre-injury > Andriy Shevchenko > Leite Adriano > Thierry Henry

Thats the best I've seen in MY lifetime as a football fan.

Adriano is not yet at henry's level whatever u say... What has Adriano proved yet in his career, what individual honours has he won- how many trophies compared to henrys, both at international and club level. Im not sayiing he will not one day be as great a striker as henry is, but adriano cannot yet be considered with ronaldo, sheva and henry

Totally agree. we should be happy that it is still possible to watch Ronaldo play on a regular basis because during those 4 years of problems he could of disappeared from Todays footballing world but he fought back and today is still considered world class even with all of what he went though

That is the greatest comp ever! Its so long cuz the guy freakin RULES!!!

Id have to agree with Ronaldo pre-injury > Andriy Shevchenko > Thierry Henry >Leite Adriano in that order and for now.

However during the World Cup and the first season in Madrid Ronaldo was still better than all those guys...that was only 2.5 years ago!!
I remember Ronaldo came on as a sub for Madrid with 25 minutes left to go and he scored 2 gols!!

Are you kidding me?

That (and during the WC) was the berth of the fat Ronaldo. Slower, less-skillful (but of course, still very skillful) and scores too many tap ins for my liking.

Guys Ronaldo is the king striker of our generation. I think he was better than Romario and Batistuta.

I remember watching World Cup 98 as a kid in school (my school gym got packed to see Brazil/Scotland..........and Ronaldo was absolutely incredible to watch. The speed, power, skill........all perfectly mixed and maximized to the top of human potential.

 Ronaldo

As for Henri.........I dont know bout you but I would pass the oportunity to ever mark him If they offered me :p

you serious? shevchenko?

In the world cup he's amazing, you cant deny that! Even if he wasnt as fast, he wasnt fat, and he's not fat now, and when he was fat he was scoring as many gols as shevchenko was for his team, except he was out for 2 months of the season. The first season for Madrid he didnt play every game and still had 23 gols in the league.

Last season whne he was fast he was running through defenses and creating his own gols...it was quality while he was fat
